  1. When is CM going to have graphics like this? Just look at this video and be blown away by the detail in the graphics. ...
  2. The text in the book is hard enough to read but the images in the manual are almost illegible. Seriously guys...why would you print something in brown scale? Was there a special on sepia tone that day at the printers?
  3. Are there any other Americans who haven't got theirs yet? I moved at the time it was shipped and still haven't received it.
  4. I was looking at the new Beta images and was wondering, why are some of the graphics blurry? From bushes, to trees, to the tops of the hedgerows, some of the graphics aren't in focus. Is this a limitation of the engine? Or are these just Beta images that are unfinished?
  5. Best use of flamethrowers was in Close Combat 2. I still remember cruising around in my Hetzerflammen lighting up enemy infantry. Damn, that was fun.
  6. To Steve and Co., Since there is a rarity for vehicle type, shouldn't there also be a rarity for experience, both for infantry and armored units? If a player opts for all 'crack' units, that presents an unhistorical, cherry-picking force as these didn't exist in real life. I haven't heard of an experience rarity pool from the previews and was wondering if there was ever a thought to putting one in.
  7. See...there's the problem. You actually think this crap is good and I don't. I find it annoying and I think the people who make this type of music are some of the most untalented in the business. The only thing worse than Electronica is that tweeny stuff that someone else posted about which features a teen ager using autotune to hide the fact that she has no voice, singing about stupid stuff only a teenager can relate to. But just so you don't think that I only listen to 'old' music, I do like some bands today. However, they are few and far between and to compare the talent of today to the talent in music 30 to 40 years ago is laughable. Musicians today (those that aren't puppets of the music industry) have a lot of their time taken up by other things like the Internet. There just isn't the kind of dedication to one's craft like there was before and you can hear it in the songs. But I don't want to get into a debate about today's music vs. yesteryear so we'll just agree to disagree and get back on topic.
  8. Steve, Going back to the purchase screen for a second...in addition to there being a rarity point pool for units, is there also a rarity point system in place for experience? I would think it's just as gamey to cherry-pick an all 'crack' force when those never existed. Are there measures in place to prevent players from doing this? Also, if the computer selects your force, will you get a mix of regular and veteran units with the occasional 'crack' player thrown in?
  9. I don't listen to much of today's "music" if we have to call it that cause most of it sucks. Usually, I try to discover bands from different eras pre-1990 that I didn't catch the first time around. Right now I'm digging deep into the catalogs of Camel, The Alan Parsons Project, and similar groups.
  10. I'm curious how the U.S. government would measure the radiation in the air to tell whether or not it's a danger to US people. How could they possibly tell how much of it is blowing over here?
  11. I'm actually looking forward to this. I remember playing Close Combat 2 and having my favorite maps to play on. You'd think you'd get bored of them after awhile but it became really fun to revisit scenarios over and over again. Not sure if it'll have the same effect in CM-Normandy but with others creating maps, why would you need a crummy generator anyway?
  12. I take it this is for war movies only... I nominate The Thin, Red Line. If you haven't seen this yet, you need to. It's a bit slow paced in parts but the acting is excellent and most of the script is too. Especially awesome is Nick Nolte as a Lt. Colonel who wants to make one last push for a promotion by ordering his men into a suicide fight against a dug-in Japanese army on top of a hill. The 2nd film I recommend is Tigerland. Good little film about the training men had to go through before being sent off to Nam'. I honestly thought Colin Farrell had a great career in front of him after seeing him in this film. Don't know what happened...
  13. I wanna be able to write "Brooklyn" on the back of a soldier's jacket so I can have that one loudmouth from New York who never shuts up. Audio with Brooklyn accent and attitude must also be included.
  14. Great song. Does anyone here have "Dust and Dreams?" I heard it's some kind of theme record inspired by The Grapes Of Wrath. Being a huge Alan Parsons Project fan, I dig on the theme albums.
  15. "Snow Goose" is a classic and one of my favorites. "Ice" is probably also right up there in the top 3. Latimer's guitar playing almost tells a story in itself without the need for lyrics. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VhRgelkyeyo
  16. Anyone familiar with this band? This guy, Andrew Latimer, can really play. Check out this guitar solo... Stationary Traveler http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MKBwku-PsPY
  17. I disagree. I think good rock was still in existence well into the late 70's. Van Halen - 1978 Van Halen The Cars - 1978 The Cars Pink Floyd - 1979 The Wall 3 Foreigner albums from 1977-1979 Supertramp - 1979 Breakfast In America And I'm sure there's more...
  18. I know what you mean. They should just ship CDs in album cover packages. I mean, why not? You buy a bag of potato chips and it's only half full, so what not do the same for music. Only with this, there's an actual benefit by using larger packaging.
  19. Nicely done! Here's a link to the actual page... http://albumcoverproject.com/blog/2009/10/best-album-cover-design-grammy-award-1970s/
  20. You dopes...Bananafishbones is the name of my ImageShack account.
  21. Yeah, I already tried TinEye before I posted here and no luck. I swear it was an album cover or artwork from the 70's or something, but if it was, surely TinEye wouldn't found it. Damn...this is frustrating.
