  1. Just finished Mit Karacho, played as the Germans against the Soviet AI. What a game!!! Quite exciting at times too. Will definitely play it again.
  2. A lot of us would probably like that. Hopefully an Engine 5 update...
  3. What I'm looking for is last week I was looking around in the QB maps and found one I wanted to back to. I said to myself I'll have to remember that. My mind being like a steel sieve of course can't remember the name of it. I do remember it was a pretty desolate looking map with some huge tank traps and I looked all over where I thought it was and can't find it. Does anybody know what that one is?
  4. Most if not all of the WWII CM games have a PDF file for their QB maps. Might be too much to ask for due to how many there are but I'm hoping one may have been done. Has one been done for the Fire and Rubble QB maps?
  5. If people want realism they should join an army as that's the only place they will find it. No game is perfect as somebody will always find something to complain about.
  6. I have the book but haven't started on it yet. I have some of his other books and they are well written and very informative.
  7. I'm in the process of making some scenarios and can't figure out how to purchase reinforcements. In the Units section in the editor for both Allied and Axis it says "Not in use" and I can't make those units come as reinforcements. I looked through the Scenario Design PDF manual and it doesn't say anything there. How do you unlock that section? What am I missing? Also although I haven't got that far yet how do you use the AI section in the Editor? The manual doesn't address that as far as I can tell.
  8. This has been discussed on and off again since BF has been in existence. One of the main reasons for the disparity in casualty rates is the time constraints. On the real battlefield if you are ordered to take a heavily defended village it could take most of the day and then some to take it. In the game we usually have only about 2 hours to do it so of course you have to do things that would be considered reckless in the real world. If you made a scenario that takes 8 - 10 hours to drive the enemy out of that heavily defended village and keep your casualty rates low very few people would want to play. Also remember, it's a game not real life.
  9. I'm working on a scenario using this map. Lots of possibilities with this...
  10. Using Google Chrome in the upper right hand corner you can change the site to English. The operations and the descriptions of the operations are in English.
  11. For those who want to do a RT scenario based on actual operations this would be helpful: https://pamyat-naroda.ru/ops/ You only get the Russian side and only a basic understanding of the opposing Axis forces but that information is generally more available than finding these Russian forces would have been. You slide the timeline bar and you can go to any year and month and it will give you a list of operations that occurred at that time. When you click on the operation link you can get more details about what units were there down to at least brigade level maybe even lower. You can see the combat path on where the units were at any given time alos plus they have the actual combat/historical maps. Tons of useful info on this site. They also have the combat logs of each unit but they are copies of the original documents and are in Russian and you can't use any type of Google translate on them.

I'll also post this in the RT section.
  13. Whether this can be an Engine 5 update or a regular update to a patch I would like a message box to pop up to display what the FO is saying (in English) when you are using artillery. It's nice to have all the different nations in their own native language but you are obviously missing some vital information if you lose LOS or if something happens that delays or cancels your arty and you don't have a clue as to what they are saying.
  14. While the point system may or may not be correct what I would like to see is a drop down box for force adjustment for the defenders. There is one for the attacker but not for the defender. I think it would allow the defender to pick a more varied force than what they can do now.
  15. If all sides were equal there wouldn't be any wars as nobody would have the advantage.
  16. Obviously from the "From the Realm of a Dying Sun" book, Volume 1. Hundreds of battles in the series (reading Volume 1 now), lots of tanks and artillery. Looking forward to seeing how this develops. The maps look great! Keep us posted.
  17. Currently it takes the same amount of effort for tanks to go through a stone wall as it does to go through a wooden fence. Maybe it's a programming issue but a wooden fence would hardly be noticed by a tank going full speed. Would like to see something more realistic in that area.
  18. Is this being tested or is it available to download somewhere?
  19. I've found out (usually the hard way) that following what the briefing suggests usually results in excessive casualties. Sometimes I wonder if the briefing was made by the enemy forces... It's better to look at the briefing then walk around the battlefield and come up with your own plan.
  20. While you guys are at it could you put some Soviet markings on the Sherman's...please...
  21. is the link supposed to be active? If not where can we download this system?
  22. I'd be interested in it and I'm sure some others would be too. Please make it available.
