  1. A make your own tile set would be at the top of my wish list. It would solve the road/rail issue. Only problem would be how the AI handles new terrain types, but if they were simple variables with numerical ratings, it couldn't get too screwed up.
  2. Thanks. It is far to effective as is. Minimising it will help. Blashy, because I feel like it. The AI overutilizes it.

  5. This always bothered me in SC as well. I would like an option to not have it happen, if possible.
  6. Ah, the multi-players. Desperate to make converts of us AI only folks with hectic schedules/other games to play so they have someone new to play against. Then stating their case in such a way that I say to myself "That geezer's why I don't play multiplayer.". The AI is a nice break from humanity. A decent AI also sells the game to me, along with gameplay, historical timeperiod and how the game looks.
  7. Road/rail networks for the smaller scale scenarios is a must have. Also bridges and "unfordable" rivers, if not already in.
  8. Any idea at this point how the AI prioritizes where to move or when to attack/defend? I'd be interested to see if situations like an attack on a static line controlled by an AI that would be "toggled" to defend were possible. Also the obverse, if the player wanted to play defence, will the AI attack in decent fashion? AAR's welcome!
  9. Quite dissapointed with the first announced game, but I will try the demo. Modern combat has very little appeal to me as a game. BFC has my $ for the next one, most certainly.
  10. I pray it won't be modern combat. WW2 was as it begam, and WW2 it should stay (gets off soapbox with help of cane, and shuffles away...)

  12. Steve-a question and maybe a way to think a bit "differently" about CMX through another games' example... I have been playing a lot of Take Command Bull Run lately. I really enjoy playing a part in a larger battle going on around me, while I command a smaller corner of the battlefield(scalable from Corps, Div, etc.). Is this possible for CMX? I see that a multiple player option is being added to MP-I would love to see the AI also handle friendly forces, while I have a set Company, Battalion etc. Having to react to friendly movements beyond one's control is a missing element in wargaming by and large-even with modern tech.
  13. New Arnhem Bridge scenario WIP up for testing at the proving grounds. I did a heck of a lot of research on the map. British OOB is slimmed down a tad for gameplay, and German is as good as I could get it so far. I also rolled two German attacks into one, to really make the 1st Para's job a bit more hectic.   15. Matt-I can't seem to download from CMHQ. I keep getting a timeout or "500 PASV: Permission Denied". Any ideas? Thanks.

  18. I had to do a reinstall of my system, and lost all of my accumulated mods. Most grevious, and hard to re-download are the winter AFV's. I seem to remember when CMBB first came out, some good soul made a large downloadable whitewashed mod of the widest used AFV's. Anyone remember who this may be? I checked CMMod database for the usual suspects, but I'm not seeing it.
  19. Prolly too late, but anyways... How about having 2 city types-"Major" and "Minor"? Minor types would satisfy some of the cities that have a strat importance, but are of a lesser value than larger ones. City graphic could be 1/2 size. This would also allow cities to be placed on Crete, Iceland etc...
