  1. I was the first to grab it on Biltong's site!! Thanks again, this is going to make my decade. Peter, are you going to make an announcement on a seperate thread? I think a lot of people are going to be pretty excited about this...
  2. Good suggestions. The more help a scenario designer can give the AI for SP games, the better. I would add a general"path of attack/line of defense" order for the AI to follow. The best way to describe this notion are the arrows you see on operational maps designating points of attack. The same can be done for defense-although a "front" line that was to be defended would be better. This would better simulate a general plan that the AI has tpo follow, and would help greatly with those interested in historical scenario design. For replayability, there could be tertiary attack areas that would work as a ranomized "plan A, B, C" etc. The game does this now to a more abstracted sense, but it would be nice to have a greater hand in this area of scenario design, and to fine tweak it.
  3. Yeah, I am getting the same problem with the new drivers and WindozeXP. The game slows to a crrrraaaawwwlll. Anyone fixed this yet? I am pretty tired of all this driver installation/ uninstallation-makes me wish I had bought CMBB for my Mac.
  4. Peter-where will Biltaid be posted when done? Thanks to Biltong, and all involved for this great system-and Peter for condensing it.
  5. Ah, I am in a similar boat (due to gross impatiance on my part). Re-downloading ALL of my CMBB CMMOS, scenarios, patches etc. on a 56k. Luckily I had all my CMBO stuff on my Mac!! Just think of it as a very evil type of clearing out all the crap that you were meaning to junk anyway.
  6. From hitting my head on the desk in frustration with my slooowww internet connection, I have a BUMP on my noggin...
  7. Is it possible to recompress unzipped files and get them to work in CMMOS 4.03? I ask because I lost all of my CMMOS CMBB files in a computer crash, and I am in the process of redownloading. I found a few of the larger files on a few zip discs, but for some reason the files are unzipped. I tried renaming the files exactly as they are on the CMHQ site, to no avail. So-it would be helpful if I could "trick" the program into thinking that the files are freshly downloaded. It would save me a few hours time-which I plan on spending on the new uniform CMMOS packs! Thanks.
  8. Thanks, Mike! This one is going to stretch my telephone line like a snake swallowing a basketball-but how worth it can you get?!
  9. I am going to play someone who only has the demo-I inadvertantly tossed my copy. Can anyone list me the 3 demo scenario titles? (and, does anyone know if they are posted at the Scen Depot?). Edit-I remembered "Citadel Schwerpunkt"... [ February 23, 2003, 12:04 PM: Message edited by: benpark ]
  10. Modding helmets is, like MikeT said-the work a' the devil!
  11. For pure insanity you could use Schwerpunky Games "Russo German War 1941-44" as a strat overlay, then resolve each battle with CMBB. It would take you 3 consecutive lifetimes, but it would be great! RGW- http://www.ghg.net/schwerpt/
  12. Amazing job. Really, really thankful to you for all your hard work.
  13. Check the Biltong Gold thread in the CMBB section, and his site: http://w1.211.telia.com/~u21117402/biltong/ He and his team have put together a great methodology for playing a linked "campaign".
  14. Thanks, everybody- I had dug up an old topic where I used your trick, Mr. Noobie-it helped quite a bit (I am using Photoshop as well). Is it the slightly darker pink pixels that are the offenders? I seem to get them every time, in varying amounts. Nasty lil buggers...
  15. Got pinkys. I am doing a corduroy road mod from the railroad, and I am stuck, any help appreciated. picture(can't figure out how to link...): http://benjamindonaldson.tripod.com/games/ [ February 12, 2003, 07:07 AM: Message edited by: benpark ]
  16. Something I ran accross: http://www.army.mil/cmh-pg/books/wwii/milimprov/fm.htm#cont (was going to post to General Forum, but thought it would get lost in all the political debate)
  17. Luckily my "A" was modded, so I was able to see the differences right away. Great job as always BTS...er BCF...I mean BFC+thanks!
  18. I noticed that the thumbnail image for the PZ 38E shows up as a Panther. Not sure if this is just my install (I have just loaded up a new GUI), or something odd...
  19. Is that picture above one of the few existing snaps of the 4 man Scottish Waffen SS "Kaber Toss" battalion?
  20. I set my GeForce4 up like suggested-it really is better looking. Particularly things like trees in the distance and fire. I am getting a bit of stutter now, however. Any relief from this? It may be hard to go back visually, but it is a bit annoying to watch those 1/2tracks wheels lurching along.
  21. Taking you seriously, though I suspect you are joking: If you are implying that CMBB is a failure because it does not portray "battles of encirclement", you need to consider that this scale of action is WAY beyond platoon/ battalion level. It is very easy to set up situations where small groups of men are cut off or surrounded in the scenario editor. Your issues with CMBB seem to stem from a lack of understanding of the scale the game portrays, and how this relates to the historical realities-rather than your imagined wishes. I would point you toward something of an operational level to simulate what you desire.
