  1. In Strategy Plus. But wat really sold me was discussions over Lunch with a good friend of mine (hi Brian) who managed to get on the beta testing team! Mace
  2. Let's not forget the Super-Heavy T28 tank developed by the Americans to deal with the Siegfried line. A nice 105mm gun in a self propelled chassis! And for Pillar's benefit, in his requested post format: ...I said Let's not forget the Super-Heavy T28 tank developed by the Americans to deal with the Siegfried line. 3. Have you considered a visit to a optomitrist? Mace errr... Mace

  5. I've been a wargamer 29 years (hit 30 years in 2001). Started off with miniatures, but took up boardgaming a few years afterwards. Who can remember setting up the monster games (eg Drang Nach Osten), playing 2 turns, then putting it away cause it took too long! Mace
  6. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by Boogie: Nobody remembers IS-2N? Sure is a nasty thing...<HR></BLOCKQUOTE> Nasty all right, check out: http://www.missing-lynx.com/articles/russia/amtis/is2m10.jpg Personally, I prefer the Jagdpanther for it's clean lines, and firepower. Mace
  7. Couldn't sleep, huh? Such a busy tike, always on the go, and always helping those of us who can't get enough CMBO mods. Here's a warm glass of milk. Drink it and then I'll tuck you in and read you a nice story. What would you like to hear about, 'Handbook on German Military Forces', or would you prefer 'Last Days of the Reich'? Mace [This message has been edited by Mace (edited 10-02-2000).]
  8. I had CC, but I couldn't get into it, and have hence avoided the additional releases. IMHO, CMBO is a lot more immersive, and a lot more enjoyable (perhaps because I began my grognard life as a miniatures gamer, and CMBO would have to be the closest thing to miniatures on the PC)! Mace
  9. Using my surname as inspiration (ie Knight), I just picked a suitable weapon for a nickname (broadsword and claymore too long)! Besides, a mace can give you a headache! Mace
  10. He could put the graphics back! Mace
  11. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by Combatboy: Thanks for being so cool Aussie. (The Aussies are kicking butt! What is every other Aussie an Olympis athlete or something. Everytime you turn around there is some race with three of them in it.) <HR></BLOCKQUOTE> excuse the belated reply, but I hadn't read this post until now! the reason Australia does well considering it's relatively small population is that the coaches tell the Aussies that's there's free beer at the finished line, but only enough for the first three across the line! That's enough to get any Aussie running hard! Mace (this reply in response to a request from AussieSmith)!
  12. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by M Hofbauer: well, of course the Bob Semple <HR></BLOCKQUOTE> ROFLMAO! New Zealand's fine contribution to MBT design! Not only that, but it can also be used as a mobile sheep shearing shed! Mace
  13. This topic has been discussed numerous times, and from what I can remember, all Eastern Front participants are to be included! Mace
  14. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by Mace: Forgot to add, We could do both: Produce it in HTML format, and include a downloadable PDF for those who enjoy doing their reading in the 'little' room! (Nelson?) Mace<HR></BLOCKQUOTE> Whoops, pressed the wrong button! [This message has been edited by Mace (edited 09-29-2000).]
  15. Forgot to add, We could do both: Produce it in a HTML format, and include a downloadable PDF for those who enjoy doing their reading in the 'little' room! Mace (If OK with the Admiral) [This message has been edited by Mace (edited 09-29-2000).]
  16. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Let us know! We are listening...and watching...and creeping around your hedges late at night all naked and covered in body oil errr....Ummm never mind that last part<HR></BLOCKQUOTE> Sorry, as a contributor to the Forward Observer, I'm probably not allowed to voice my opinion (PDF). It's the thing about slinking around at night covered in body oil that got my attention. Nice to have a hobby one enjoys! btw, PDF! Mace (did I say PDF)?
  17. Stars? Nothing like a good 4X game, is there! Mace
  18. Hey, a few Aussies here tonight! Anyone bought a keg? We can sit around the BBQ and swap a few CMBO warstories (at least we can all discuss what a drumming we plan to give Craig)! Mace (sorry guys, I've processed my turns, sent them out, and am now just making a nuisance of myself to kill some time)!
  19. I'd agree, the introduction of a rarity cost in the price will reduce the likelyhood of exotic equipment appearing as frequently as they do on the CMBO battlefield. Also, the implimentation of a Base Cost is also a good idea to reduce costing anomilies. Mace Steve, posted at 3am in the morning? A game developer's work is never done!
  20. Yes, I'm afflicted by modeller's syndrome! Kits are relatively expensive now days, and more focussed to the adult market. On top of that there's the cost of consumables (ie paint, brushes, references). You have two choices basically as far as scale is concerned 1/72, or 1/35 (I prefer the latter, 1/72 is 'toy scale' IMHO). The main Manufacturers are Tamiya, Dragon, AFV Club, Italeri and Academy (for 1/35). There are also a lot of Eastern European manufacturers appearing. To cut your teeth, start with a simple tank like a Jagdpanther! One warning though, I never get time to model, I'm too busy playing CMBO! Mace btw - drop me a line if you like with any questions!
  21. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by Brian Rock: One of my old school buddies who is married with two girls is trying to get the oldest to play CM with him. He's had success with other wargames. If it works it would seem to be a good reason to stay married and have a family. <HR></BLOCKQUOTE> I'm that old (Brian, you b*stard) school buddie, just turned 42. Happily married with a charming (but non grognard) wife and two girls (hi Sue, Michelle and Leanne). I'm a physicist by education, but am currently employed as a Government Business Analyst. Oh, and I've been wargaming since 1971 (miniatures, boardgames, computer - if it's a wargame, I'll play it) Mace
