1. I play any side, just as long as it's a CM PBEM or scenario! Seriously, it's good IMHO to experience the different force capabilities of the nationalities involved. MAce
 2. Gaffer tape, that'll fix them! Mace (btw, Tiger, nice work)!
 3. I've heard them too! Perhaps the German gunners suck on Helium balloons? Mace
 4. While I haven't any intimate knowledge of limbering, or unlimbering (attaching trailers to cars excluded), I'd would have to agree that if experience shows that a certain algorithm in CM is not producing real-life results, then an opportunity exists to improve it. Btw, I'm also impressed. Not only are these two gentlemen sharing their intimate knowledge of the King/Queen/whatever of the battlefield with the rest of us (both being involved directly or indirectly with artillery during the gulf war), but not once did MH use the words 'Mace' and 'Frilly blouse'in his entire discourse! Mace
 5. 3.1494759475983475981219213729824 ? It could also be CM3.141592653589793238462643383279502884197169399375105820974944 or CM3.14159265358979323846264338 3279502884197169399375105820974944592 3078164062862089986280348253421170679 that he chooses to wait for! Mace (I think BTS are going to hate us for the can of worms we just opened! Sorry, guys) [This message has been edited by Mace (edited 09-07-2000).]
 6. Would it be possible to color the text of any Unit in the 'Available' list where its purchase price either exceeds the total cost, or the cost of the category to which it belongs? eg. say you have 500 points total, 400 in Infantry (and of which 302 is spent). An Infantry unit that costs 99 points to purchase would be red (whatever), while one for 97 would remain white! Same for the other categories, or where unit purchase would exceed the total cost! btw, this would assist nongs like me who can't add and subtract (which is a worry really because I'm a business analyst in real life)! Mace
 7. When I'm munching on Muzzlehead, chomping on Carentan, chewing on Stef, snacking on Thrash, nibbling on Aussie Smith, I find a cup of Tea (in the fine English Tradition) to my liking! Matter of fact, I'll have one now! Mace
 8.
quote:
Originally posted by barrold713: I would be hellaproud to buy the adult beverage of choice for many of the folks I have read in here.

Beauty, free grog! What was your address again? Mace btw, welcome to the CM community!
 9. Real time probably gives you the chance to intervene if something goes seriously wrong. Given this lack of flexibility, WEGO probably requires some more planning and forethought! Mace (my apologies, I'm not used to providing mature answers)
 10. In my day it was 'You have been assimilated', now it's '*Username* is hereby assimilated' Is CM Borg now prefering a kinder, friendlier assimilation? Mace [This message has been edited by Mace (edited 09-05-2000).]
 11. All of 'em: Germans, Russians, Finnish, Rumanian, Hungarian, Italian, Bulgarian, etc. CM2 will have to be experienced in it's entirety! Mace [This message has been edited by Mace (edited 09-05-2000).]
 12. Facts are: (i)the full CM is an excellent game, it blows the socks off the demo. (ii) A CM PBEM is the penultimate tactical wargaming experience (iii) CM is not turn based! (iv) you're a troll, looking for a flamewar! Mace [This message has been edited by Mace (edited 09-05-2000).]
 13.
quote:
Originally posted by Aussie Smith: Ps Mace - I hope you have a patent on using my name in your posts old son

Australian Patent Office****************** Form Z299300 This patent grants Mace (the patentee) the right to use the name 'Aussie' in any post that he may contribute to the BTF discussion board. ******************************************* Mace
 14.
quote:
Originally posted by Brian Rock: This is only a test. Why do people keep posting and pushing this back to the top?

No, but it's really annoying isn't it! Mace
 15.
quote:
Originally posted by Maximus: GEEZ people, what is there to discuss now that the game is out??? Other than bugs or possible enhances.

CM2, CM3, CM4, etc, etc, etc Mace
 16. Great book, and fine author too, but wouldn't the newly released Modern tank Sim 'Steel Beasts' be more suitable? Regardless, let us know how it turns out! Mace
 17.
quote:
Originally posted by Aussie Smith: test test

Happy now? Mace (btw, who's turn is it , yours or mine)?
 18.
quote:
Originally posted by Teutonicc: Give me My southern comfort and coke.

Yummy, I'll drink to that! Mace
 19. While I agree that captured equipment should be allowed, I think that captured AFVs and Military Transport should be purchased during CM setup rather than allow them to be captured and used immediately during a game. Reason: most of my references show captured Soviet AFVs etc in German Camo, which suggests that some time was spent in readying the equipment (eg painting the revised markings, servicing the AFV, etc). Also, some time must have been required to get a crew familiar with the nuances of that vehicle/AFV. Just my Aussie 2c worth (which, given current exchange rates, is not worth much)! Mace
 20.
quote:
Originally posted by M18 Hellcat: may I strike down more of the trolls than mace's tanks in one turn of our pbem (4 to be exact *snicker snicker*).

Oh the pain, the pain! Mace
 21. A stirring speech, Car (Mace wipes a tear from his eye)! When the shells start bursting amongst us, rounds impact on the bodies of our CM friends and comrades, we will still stand bravely and defiantly against the enemy! Now, if you can get that flag pole off my foot, I'd be much happier! Mace
 22. To all those who were involved with MDMP2, next beer's on me (Catch is, you have to come to Melbourne, Australia to receive it) Mace
 23. lower jaw drops.....just let me klick my bottom jaw back into place! Superb! Well done! Great stuff! Sweeeeet! Bloody ace, mate! etc. Mace
 24. G'day Jsoh, (i) A Tank is said to be 'hull down' when all the opposition can see is it's turret, the hull being obscured and protected by some mass. (ii) Assimilition is a 'right of passage' and a running joke on this board. It's sort of recognition that you have correctly identified CM as the great game that it is, and are now hopelessly addicted to it! (iii)the three angle measures indicate the slope of the armour from the vertical. There are three factors that are considered in determining shell penetration, angle of attack, kinetic energy of the projectile, and thickness of the armour! Anyhow, welcome aboard! Mace
