In the US a cheese pizza costs between $8 and $16 dollars, depending on where you order (boonies vs. Manhattan

In Australia, the cheapest Family size Pizza is about $6.20, with the better ones up around the $12.00 mark. There is also a $2 surcharge for delivery. So if you North americans want a cheap Pizza, order Australian! errr..but dont blame me if it's cold by the time it's delivered! Mace
 2. And for those of us who have been honoured with his signed photo: Bab's shapely legs, jutting out from under his kilt! Surely missed? Mace
 3. Steve, You like happy people? Well I'm bloody ecstatic at the moment, because CMBO's such a joy to play. My worry is that once CM2 arrives in my hot little hands, the extra glee may prove fatal! Mace [This message has been edited by Mace (edited 09-15-2000).]
 4.
quote:
Originally posted by Madmatt: Well get off your lazy ass and run your own website then!

Ahhhh....that's what I like about Madmatt, his gentle disposition, sunny personality and diplomatic skills are without comparison! Mace
 5. Matt's asleep at the moment! Hence, It's not too late to take this post down before he reads it. He might get all mushy if he does, and we don't wan't to see the Matt cry! Mace
 6.
quote:
Originally posted by Slayer: Sorry, Aussie Smith! The best beer is brewed in Germany! Ask a few Americans: They drink Budweiser ,or some other crap, to get loaded and then drink ONE German beer to pass out

No, sorry! Aussie beer's the best (ahh Fosters, Carlton Cold, Toohey's, and my fav Red Back) Mace (now realising that we are going down the path of a 'see who can piss highest up the wall' competition here...excuse the French)!
 7.
quote:
Originally posted by Aussie Smith: I'm up for it if ya wanna try it - how bout going a team Mace?? B]

Sign me up!!!!!! Mace
 8. While there are some aussies contributing here (and others soliciting), I'd thought I'd test the waters: Any value in setting up a registry of Aussie CM players? I'm prepared to do the hard slog if fellow countrymen are interested. Information would include name, email, and preferences - I'll put these together in html format and send them out to contributors! Any views welcomed! Mace
 9.
quote:
Originally posted by Panzer Man: Whats this rubbish all about??? and what does it have to do with Combat Mission!!!!!!! If these blokes wanna get together, hey find a Motel!!!!!

Geez, if you can't stand the heat, stayout of the kitchen! As Matt said, if it offends then don't read it! Besides I think the guys contributing to the Peng thread are just honing their taunt skills for their CM PBEMs! I've personally have got no problems with that. Mace
 10.
quote:
Originally posted by Aussie Smith: Say Kwazy - you want a PEBM opponent? Craig

Craig, soliciting again? Whatever you do, though, don't choose heavy fog! Mace
 11.
quote:
Originally posted by Big Time Software: 3. Boxes are evil

Bloody oath! My wife hates them so much that she makes me throw them out (they take up too much space), and thus it's fine by me if a box is NOT provided! As for the high price of CM in Australia? A simple solution, we Aussie CMers must lobby to make Australia the 53rd State of the USA (in time for CM2's release), then there'd be no problem! Just to reiterate, I would sell my soul for the future line of CM related products (lol, I've probably already lost my soul with CMBO)! Mace (hey, if you were expecting a sensible response here, you don't know me well, do you)?
 12.
quote:
Originally posted by Aussie Smith: Give it 6 moths our dollar may make the glorious heights of 60 US cents again

What's that, Craig? Our $ (Aus) is worth 6 moths? I remember the good old days when it was worth one sheep! As for the current price of CM? Money well spent IMHO! The amount of entertainment you are going to get out of that one piece of software is worth far more than that price (btw, look in the shops, most new computer games are going for $90, and you don't get near the same amount of gameplay out of them)! 13. Sounds like Grognard symptoms to me. Other things to look out for: (i) an urge to purchase military books, videos and wargames; (ii) a craving to learn about key military battles, OOBs, and military hardware; (iii) regular visits to local military museums; and (iv) if you're really addicted, a large stock pile of military models that you'll buy, but never complete because you only have anough time for (i) to (iii) above. Oh, and it's fatal (on the contents of your wallet)! Mace
 14.
quote:
Originally posted by -Jochen-: We visited Finnish Tank Museum few weeks ago and I must admit that I enjoyed the trip more than she did...

And I bet she asked to come along? My wife has a habit of doing that. She nags me to let her come along, and once we get to where I want to go, she continually looks at her watch and asks when are we going home! She's a sweety though! Mace
 15. Midnight Oil? Yeh, they still roll 'em out in wheel chairs to play every now and then! As for the lead singer, Peter Garrat, being the inspiration for the German panzer commander? You may be right, that would definitely explain the lyrics from one of their songs: "US forces give the nod, it's a set back for your country"! Very apt for WW2 Germany. Mace
 16.
quote:
Originally posted by Big Time Software: We footed the bill for a $5,000 focus group

$5,000!!!! Geez guys, I did a course on running a focus group a few years ago, and am prepared to offer my services for less than that! Just agree to fund my flight to the USA and make an offer, and I'll do anything, anything!!! oh, is it alright if I bring the family? oh, and a room in a 5 star hotel would be nice! oh, can you throw in a copy of CM2 as well? oh, and payment in $US! Mace
 17. I do recall using the walkman's headphones at one occassion myself. Just unplug your speakers, and plug your headphones into the same jack on the soundcard. Mace
 18.
quote:
Originally posted by Banshee: CM is a different flavor of addiction, and it's easier for me to moderate =).

..and easier on the wallet! Mace
 19. Style, penache, balance, masterpiece, attention to detail! These are a few of the words that come to mind when looking at this (mainly because it has none of those)! Mace
 20. Dont listen to these Gentlemen as they are all missing the mark here, the solution is quite simple. Ask her to play CM with you! Not only does this enhance the relationship through being there for her when she needs your care and support, but also you have the opportunity to give her a good thrashing as her forces fall to your might!!!! Bwahahahahahahaha! Hope this helps, Mace
 21.
quote:
Originally posted by Doctor: On a couple of occasions in thick fog, my infantry will target an enemy unit, but there is no image of the unit being shown. It says "Infantry Sounds? 10m" or something close to that. The red line extends from my men to a empty space on the map. Is this normal? Also, in fog my men tend to run at and over enemy foxholes that suddenly appear in view. Shouldn't they really stop running once they see them rather than assume that they're empty? Oh, and also, is it generally better to rest your men before combat or save time and enter combat ASAP? Or is it more of a better if you can, but sometimes you can't sort of thing?

Doc. First of all, welcome aboard! When a unit targets a 'sound', it means that they've heard rather than seen another unit, and are aiming where they suspect the unit to be. As for foxholes, I believe your units haven't spotted any occupants in them, and have kept going to their next waypoint btw, your Infantry start rested at scenario's commencement, so feel free to run 'em around a bit (helps their cardio-vascular system). Make sure though you give them a rest in some cover every now and then, otherwise they slow down at very unopportune moments! Mace
 22. There is only one god of CMHQ, Mattbot! 'and lo and behold, for the Mattbot looked down upon the crowd that is the CMHQ chat, and the crowd was afraid, and they didth tremble, and they didth not say anything bad against the bot.....unless they could get away with it'! Mace
 23. I think a filter option would be quite handy (ie. option 3) Mace
 24.
quote:
Originally posted by Madmatt: Currently we are on the 5th battle and nearing the end. The town is leveled and burning quite nicely and my Veteran German tank crews are being bested left and right by the cowardly, but tenacious, capitalist defenders.

Let that be a lesson to you, don't mess with the Aussies!
quote:
After all we have been through with this one we both agree that it just may be the single greatest wargaming experience we have ever experienced. How's that for a endorsement?

Hey, CM and Wild Bill (& crew) together, what more do we need? Keep up the excellent work (All of you, even Matt), it just adds value to the CM experience! Mace PS Great to see you got 'Brian' right he he [This message has been edited by Mace (edited 09-11-2000).]
