  2. I'd suggest bidding your wife and other loved ones a fond farewell, as you aren't going to see much of them once you get the full blown CMBO! Also, best be prepared to be assimilated.......'Paging CMBorg, Paging CMBorg'. Mace [This message has been edited by Mace (edited 09-25-2000).]
  3. On behalf of my fellow writers and our editor, let me say it is our pleasure to contribute to the 'Forward Observer' and do our part for CMMC. Our involvement is solely voluntary, so if you were suitably impressed by the high quality of journalism and the excellent layout, cash donations will cheerfully be accepted! Mace (who is the much better writer than Joe Shaw)!
  4. Waxx, Well done, mate! You should do it again! Mace
  5. Personally: Air War - European Air War Operational/strategy - The Operation Art of War Tank Sim - Panzer Elite (if you like 3 hour battles) Mace
  6. Tiger, As always, awe inspiring! Mace PS got in before Aussie Smith
  7. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by Aussie Smith: Ps - We Gov't employees are happy working for you all <HR></BLOCKQUOTE> Don't be stupid! I'd rather be home playing CM! Mace
  8. For Russkie armour, I prefer the JS2 myself. IMHO, the best WW2 tank would have to be the PzKpfw V Panther. However, I do cede that the T34 (especially the T34/76) and the KV series definitely put the wind up the Germans in 1941. If it wasn't for these appearing on the battlefront, there may not have been the incentive for the Germans to develop the PzKpfw Vs and VIs! 9. Howabout an operational scenario based on the famous tank battle at Povkorovka (Spelling? oh, you know what I mean) during operation Citadel! Also, the storming of Sevastapol, the Kharkov 43 counter attack, the Russian offensive at the Seelowe Heights, the Battle for Berlin, etc etc etc Hey, what about a CM2 scenario that has every unit that fought on the Eastern Front on a map the size of Russia, with 4(years)x365.25 (days)x24 (hours) x60(minute) turns (comes with an optional Crey supercomputer)! Mace
  10. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by rune: and KD has moved from Fosters to Bud Light.<HR></BLOCKQUOTE> Not bloody likely, Rune! Mace
  11. Matt! Just tell me your charming manner and charisma will remain the same! And Kwazydog, best get moving on that JS2 & SU152, mate! Mace Congrats guys! [This message has been edited by Mace (edited 09-21-2000).]
  12. KD, care to share what you've learnt with the rest of us, or would you rather keep it a secret and whoop our backsides (errrr....in a manly PBEM CMBO of course)! Mace PS How's North Oz?
  13. No, JohnS blows up chicken coups with Mortars on behalf of the NZ Army, much to the dismay of kiwi farmers! As for MadMatt dancing in his underwear, I'd love to see that (but well after I've eaten, please)! Mace [This message has been edited by Mace (edited 09-21-2000).]
  14. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by Aussie Smith: Have a look - it's worth it<HR></BLOCKQUOTE> I'm old and decripit, the least you could have done was put the URL here so lazy sods like me wouldn't have to dig through the dirt to find the gems! Mace
  15. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by Aussie Smith: Those sounds are truly awesome!!!!!!! (ha no monopoly on exclamation marks Matt )<HR></BLOCKQUOTE> I can just imagine the reverberations of combat echoing throughout the hallowed halls of a certain Government Department, as A.S. tries out the new wav files. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR> Did I say how good those sounds are <HR></BLOCKQUOTE> Yes, you did! Now stop brown nosing, it's an embarrassment to us Aussies! <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR> *gets on Knees and Prays* Oh modmakers up above please make me an Ambush scheme for the Panthers <HR></BLOCKQUOTE> And stop that as well! btw, why would you want to be an Ambush scheme on Panthers? As for Matt and the Mod Squad (get it, Mod Squad, ha ha ha....Erk!), keep up the good work! Most of us appreciate it (really)! Mace PS A.S. - See, that's how brown nosing should be done!
  16. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by jpinard: Mace, considering I create sites myself from scratch and maintain them (for games also). I think I know what I'm talking about. You certainly don't know what you're talking about. So don't embarass yourself unless you have something decent to say, OK? Unless Matt is using "Notepad" to maintain his site it's not that bad. Mace, About checking links... Ummm, all current web publishing software does that for you. So, unless clicking a button takes an hour, my statements still stand. So, the thread should still stay open.<HR></BLOCKQUOTE> Excuse me, MATE! I happen to get paid for maintaining a government site (it's part of my job) www.dhs.vic.gov.au/housing and I also have developed and now maintain a site for a friend's business www.users.bigpond.com/smmodels/ I think I'm well placed to make the statement that I did, and I would suggest you get your facts right before you mouth off! btw, keep going mate, you're obviously seeking to annoy as many people today as possible! Mace
  17. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by jpinard: You people must not know html, because what he puts in every day would take someone like myself about 15 minutes per day to do. And I'm not a pro. But if no one wants to see what's going on here then just close the thread. TO reiterate points see here: 1. Work per day: 20 minutes - unless he is really slow. <HR></BLOCKQUOTE> Web site maintenance is more than 20 minutes of code setting: it's also preparing graphics, checking links, adopting and manipulating content, and continually revising and developing the site to be more user friendly. HTML maintenance is only one facet of web site administration. Just because you know HTML does not make you an effective web page designer!!!!!! Now the thread can be closed! 18. Frequently, Aussie Smith. Thank you for asking! Just as well it was on my head, or I would have been in serious trouble! Mace
  19. Can I make a few observations/comments (from experience, I'm involved with a Government web site)! (1) There is a lot of time required in maintaining a web site (if not in maintenance and administration, then thinking on how to better display and organise content, ie future development). If Matt's time is recognised through payment, much more the better! (2) There is no indication anywhere on Matt's site that contributors will be paid for any published material. So, anyone who chooses to contribute or has contributed should recognise this! (3) IMHO, I think most contributors provide content through love of the game and for the accolades, not for the money! - imagine if Wild Bill charged for d/l of his scenarios Thus as far as I'm concerned, If there is agreement between two parties that payment will be rendered for services, then payment should be made. If there is no such agreement (eg. Matt and Site Contributors) then payment should not be expected. Regardless, lets put this behind us, it's time for a GROUP HUG!!!! 20. Matt, Regardless of the outcome, I believe that I speak on behalf of everyone here when I say we recognise the work that you put in maintaining and developing your site/s, and you will continue to recieve our accolades regardless of the outcome of your current dispute! Mace (Just a shame that you can't enjoy a nice steak with all the trimmings at the mo)!
  21. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by Aussie Smith: it's time to release, Wadderwick no Wroger, no Bwian.......<HR></BLOCKQUOTE> welease, not release! <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>And I shall have my Centurions (Volkstrum) strike you very wuffly..... <HR></BLOCKQUOTE> Centuwions! Volkstwum! Stwike! Sheeeesh, do I have to do everything around here! Mace, the Knight who goes 'Ni'!
  22. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by Aussie Smith: Well as a holder of a Batchelor of Business Degree I feel I can comment on some of these points:- extremely large snip Now what next - oh yes CM - now where is that turn that I will destroy Mace's infantry <HR></BLOCKQUOTE> Very intelligent and thought evoking, Craig! It explains your lack or activity during the weekend, time obviously spent on your treatise! However, I felt it was spoilt only by that immature taunt at the end to which I must respond: as a holder of Batchelor of Physical Sciences (Hons), , I am now thinking about introducing a Nuclear option into our current CMBO PBEM!
