  1. One of the biggest things people are going to notice is the amount of cover buildings now give. It will take much more to take out a squad in a building without going in and getting them. That and the vehicle retreat logic.
  2. The post 1.06 wishlist among the beta testers is up to about 5 pages now. The difference is that now we can start working on tweaks and features instead of major repairs. There are still some pretty heated debates raging now though.
  3. Have you checked Barnes and Noble and Amazon? They often have out of print or obscure books availible through their partner dealers.
  4. You can change setup locations in the AI plans. The thing is you have to put a setup zone in that area. The AI won't place units outside legal setup zones. I regularly have my units change setup locations when they change plans. As a scenario designer you might end up making 3/4 of the map a setup zone for one side or the other.
  5. Try using objective points at opposite ends of the area you want to attack. I set up some widely scattered waypoints for my guys and they sent units to every point and then everyone moved to the farthest point (from the last order). All with a single order.
  6. It is actually an Easter Egg that you have to unlock by winning all the scenarios without any losses.
  7. It's the old cycle. Attack defeats defense which improves to defeat attack. Most change is evolutionary. Will tanks, as we know them today become obsolete? Sure they will. Will militaries always need units that can hit hard, manuever, and take punishment? Of course they will. Right now those units are tanks, in the future they may be Heinlein's Mobile Infantry. Things change and adapt.
  8. Right now CMMODS is the only one with anything centralized I believe. They are in the scenario section for now.
  9. I hope they plan on removing those signs. Then again they are Canadian.
  10. Changing the size of the objectives for each order can also have interesting effects. If you scatter points about you can make a unit seem to patrol an area for a while. Then they will move to the next order. When you expect contact I find that the best is to use assault if you want your units to engage and move. "Max Assault" units seem to forget manuevering and if you dismount infantry their vehicles will remain where the dismounted. This isn't as much of a problem with an Assault stance. Like George said, play around. The system isn't perfect but it can give you some pretty good results.
  11. I want to officially protest the lack of B-52's. BFC obviously doesn't care about the wishes of its customers.
  12. During the run of the battle a lot would depend on where the vehicle got hit. In most instances the dismounts would pull security around the track and form kind of a ready reserve. If they have some vital equipment then a follow-on track or the 1SG might come by and get that team but generally they will care for the wounded and try to get what they can out of the track. Or they will try to get down and hide from whatever just killed their ride. Consolidating units and finding a new ride will usually have to wait for the major shooting to end.
  13. They are already in but they keep getting shot down on the way to the battlefield.
  14. oren, That is what the digitization systems do for the M1. The arguments about what can kill what or which tank is better are pretty pointless. Lab results rarely translate into real results. The most important factor is the training of the crew as long as there isn't a gross inequality in equipment.
  15. Well, this is about as good as I have the patience to get it. There is a mapping glitch that causes the front face of the turret to be used on the sides of the smoke launcher. Now I am going to mess around with the Bradley. I will post to CMMODS in the near future.
  16. Enjoyable but the final missions are unrealistic as blow 56 has stated. Were the US actually to try to take such a position it would definitely be at night and with massive support. The US Army realized long ago that human wave tactics in the open will force an almost immediate political end to the war, and not one favorable to US interests. The last thing the US wants is a fair fight and certainly not one where it is at a dissadvantage.
  17. Praha was too much like a living museum for me. I loved Karlovy Vary.
  18. I like that pavement. I wish there were a way to make peaked roofs like you see in most of Europe.
  19. Lots of WIP stuff for Euro paint jobs on vehicles. Should be interesting.
