  1. Drove them all the time. Never heard anyone refer to it by anything other than 113. There should be a bunch of them in engineer units and TOCs. So for game representation they should be with the engineers since TOCs aren't really modeled. Of course they should also be with Medics and such. All of these will be with the HBCTs though the Stryker brigades will just all use Strykers. As an interesting side note. During the Iraqi counter attack at Objective Peach, Marcone (CO 3-69 Armor) said that the Republican Guard troops were using captured Kuwaiti M113s.

  7. Searching for images of Hohenfels I found several of my old platoon. It's a small Army.
  8. If I remember correctly, by 1986 US tanks were using CARC camo.
  9. Sweet, and by that I mean totally cool. We never carried spare barrels for the Minimi or SAW. (I think the Marines do though.) Only for the 240 and 60. With a good crew you can change barrels in about 10 to 20 seconds, depending on if you are using the tripod or not.
  10. Even that might not work. 3-15 INF This is an account of the fighting by 3-15 INF during OIF. Read about the fighting on Objective Curley (Pages 5 - 7 especially). The enemy had occupied a large building near the American position and was using it as a base of fire. After repeated attacks by 25mm and direct lay 120mm mortars the fire slacked a bit but never stopped. And the building didn't collapse either. Short of blasting a building off the map with a 2000lb Air Force bomb the only way to really clear a building is to go in and take it. [ March 09, 2008, 06:54 AM: Message edited by: SgtMuhammed ]
  11. YD, That is a pretty good approximation of how we used to do it in the Army. In Berlin we had all kinds of neat toys to help with building entry but it usually ended up being bust a door or window and get in as fast as you can.
  12. Blast is not always an option though. Not all infantry carry blast charges. I agree though that this is a nice to have but not necessary feature. I think if the obstacle options are increased then we will need to see in increase in options to deal with them.
  13. That actually makes sense. Because of the trajectory and the straight back recoil of the .50 it would have a smaller cone at normal combat distances. This would necessitate searching and traversing which, depending on the mount, is not always easy or instinctive. A weapon with a greater spread at the same range makes this more automatic. I still love Mamma Duce though.
  14. Good point. To be honest I always felt the upper floor entry techniques were rather dicey. I wonder though if proceedures were the same during the initial invasion.
  15. Dorosh deserves to be banned just because, and this from a guy who loves the silly bugger. John Kettler, You won't get any argument from me about allowing entry through windows. We did some funky stuff to enter buildings, including having a guy hold on to one end of a pole while the rest of the squad lifted him into an upper floor window! Ah good times.
  16. I think the Ma Duce is the Platonic ideal form of the machine gun. Everything else is just an imitation.
  17. Because once people saw that the machine gun was a viable weapon they turned their attention to making it a more versitile one.

  19. Wow Harry, that was interesting. I didn't understand a single word you said but it was fascinating. Can we download this yet? I am turning my game into a whole CMSF:ETO kind of thing.
  20. I haven't looked, is there a separate .bmp file for the slat armor? If there is maybe you can just remove it from the vehicle folder and the armor will vanish. I did that by mistake with the skirts on my M1 mod and ended up with a rather strange looking cut down M1. So it seems to be possible in some cases.
  21. Interesting to note two things. No one gets hit. Of course that could be because of the second thing, no one aims.
