  1. In other words, the manual is adequate after all, ja?
  2. Knowledgebase articles covering this question (any many others) here: http://www.battlefront.com/helpdesk/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=view&parentcategoryid=4&pcid=10&nav=0,10
  3. Mods are entirely platform independent. Any mod will work on any version of the game, Mac or Windows.
  4. I am sure The K Man has already had his case resolved long ago (we usually respond to Support ticket at www.battlefront.com/helpdesk within 24 hours). So, go ahead and do the same (open a ticket), and we'll look into it. There can be several reasons why a license state may become corrupt, and we can usually resolve this quickly.
  5. Paradox, the distributor of the retail version of CMSF, stopped support for the title after patch 1.20 IIRC. You can purchase a special 1.21 "patch" for $1 which changes your game version from the Paradox retail version to ours (basically, it swaps out the licensing used), and with that you can use our patches, and patch through to the very latest version (for free). Martin
  6. It sounds like you are entering your license key instead of the Authorization Request Code. The Manual activation process has a specific sequence, and the Authorization Request Code is generated during the activation on your computer. You don't need any of this when you choose "Online" as activation method (then you only need your lciense key). For more details about how our Online Activation System works, please see: http://www.battlefront.com/helpdesk/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=view&parentcategoryid=35&pcid=34&nav=0,34
  7. There is no problem in the installer as far as I can tell. You need to pay attention to the install path. It's easy to miss that sometimes the path will double into something like C:\Programs\Battlefront\CM Afghanistan\CM Afghanistan Notice the double entry at the end.
  8. It means that the user was kicked out of the forum. JetC1E1 was not a real user (in the sense that he wanted to actually participate here; in fact, he was probably human and not a bot), but a spammer who wanted to post anything (they often use generics like you see above) in order to plug a URL in his signature line which other bots then can use to improve that website's search rankings.
  9. Sounds to me that you installed the patch incorrectly. Make sure to specify the correct installation path when you run the patch!
  10. EOS comes with its own built-in tool for sharing mods (and matchmaking etc.). Simply launch the game and click on the corresponding menu in the game.
  11. I don't know about Play.com. They may be using a different activation system. If this is using our eLicense system, then we can reset it for you. (However, I don't think they do use eLicense, so you will probably have to contact play.com support).
  12. If you cannot unlicense on the previously installed computer, please go to www.battlefront.com/helpdesk and click on Submit Ticket. Explain what happened and why you cannot unlicense (or relicense), and we can reset your key for you. Make sure to include your license key(s) in the Ticket. We can reset a key for you a couple of times in emergencies like that, no problem. (This applies to our old eLicense system; the new online activation system does not require unlicensing and if you need new activations, you can add them yourself via the online web interface).
  13. Ask your grand pa, or whoever bought the game for you, to contact us at www.battlefront.com/helpdesk.
  14. Did you recently upgrade to 10.7? Anyway, please go to www.battlefront.com/helpdesk and click on Submit Ticket. It's most likely a permissions error that we can reset for you.
  15. Actually the manual is correct as long as you are using the default hotkeys.txt file/configuration. If you use the "alternative hotkeys.txt" file, or changed the hotkeys.txt file manually, then it works differently.
  16. PS. The only potential issue you may run into when copying is one of Windows permissions which may lead to errors when trying to run the game. But it's difficult to predict because it depends on the individual Windows setup. So, if you run into problems after copying, check your Windows permission settings.
  17. You can copy to a different location on the same PC. No need to reinstall. (what you cannot do is copy to a different PC, that will trigger all sorts of issues, including a licensing/activation issue)
  18. Not sure why? VAT applies to ANY purchases you make in your country, too. If Battlefront was in the UK (or whichever country you are located in), then you would have to pay it, as well. Some domestic US customers of ours have to pay VAT on top of the purchase price (if they live in Maine).
  19. In short, you can't. The ModTools are available for PC only at the moment.
  20. Our free demos are still frequently covermounted, and a couple of deals have been signed already. On the Mac side, we'll release an updated demo soon that will no doubt find its way on Mac covermounts soon enough.
  21. Is anyone reading reviews these days at all? I stopped reading reviews, uh, must be 10 years ago Anyway, being a self-publisher we do not require any huge hype before release or day one reviews. Not having a huge PR staff, in fact, would make this impossible anyway. So review copies are going out to reviewers around and AFTER the release. You should start seeing some in the coming days, no doubt. Martin
  22. Yes, you get an email when your order status changes from "Confirmed" to "Shipped". You also should get an email from the USPS.com website with your tracking info. Both of these can be and often are blocked by spam filters, so it's beneficial if you add sales@battlefront.com and usps.com to your safe sender list. And you need to enter your email address correctly when you purchase, too
  23. We'll need a photo of the damaged box. Please go to www.battlefront.com/helpdesk and click on Submit Ticket. You can upload the photo there. We should be able to send you a replacement. I had tested what it takes to damage the box myself with some of the samples we had received, and you basically have to jump with your full body weight or drive over it. There are plastic parts in the box but it's quite sturdy.
  24. The first US based players will probably get theirs on monday. Or who knows, if you are unbelievably lucky and near Maine (where we ship from), you may have it today Right now we expect to be able to ship out the last pre-orders on wednesday, i.e. within the 7 days timeframe we anticipated.
