  1. Yes, it comes with the demo, and no, it's not allowed to distribute the manual outside of the demo (it is copyrighted).
  2. stone75, check your Options screen. Some may have an impact on your mouse click behavior. Units in CMBN do not move on their own (not like in TOW where this feature DOES exist by design), at least not proactively over long distances, unless self-preservation is triggered.
  3. peter, Phil will probably look into yours. I would suggest going to www.battlefront.com/helpdesk and clicking on Submit Ticket. Kong, sounds like an anti-virus/security system issue to me. Do you see the activation window at all?
  4. stone75 - here is what may be happening: when you doubleclick on a unit, all units in its formation are selected as well, and if you then place a movement order, it is automatically applied to all the other currently selected units, too. You can play with "Show all Paths" toggled on to try and avoid it (or spot it more easily when it happens).
  5. Hi Erik, thanks for the info. Yes, if, after exiting, the game process continues to run, then it will fail when you try to launch it a second time. You have to manually terminate that process first. There is no exit problem with the executable itself (or everyone would be having this issue), but rather it seems to be a problem with a specific Windows setup. What OS are you running? Is it Win7-64bit by chance?
  6. Updating the ATI drivers is usually a good idea in any case, but if it worked the first time, it's odd that it wouldn't work a second time. "Disabling" Norton is not as easy as you may think. There are all sorts of plugins and toolbars etc. that may still be active even if you "disable" Norton. Putting the game into the "whitelist" is probably better than trying to disable the AV. There are no known anti-virus issues with the game (we have tested against 40 or so of the major providers), but there is always a remaining risk of false positives from all those (usually crappy and useless) add-ons you sometimes get shoved down your throat. Martin
  7. Actually, all you need to do is drag the folder from the DMG splash screen into the App folder. This will "install" the demo app in its own directory; this has the added benefit that the "Documents" folder is in there, too, with the game manual, Readme and the Mac Performance Doc. You can then launch the app from your HD by opening the folder and double-clicking on the app itself. Martin
  8. Porkbrain, make sure that you move the Application to your harddrive (e.g. into the "Application" folder) before launching it. If you try to launch it from within the DMG, it will produce a black screen and you'll have to force quit.
  9. That's odd, but it sounds like an interference from an anti-virus or security program to me. Check your anti-virus settings and make sure that it's not blocking the launch of the game (if it does, then I could imagine the symptoms to be exactly like you describe: click on play, game is terminated by AV software, exit screen shows up). Adding the executable to your "Safe program list" or "Whitelist" should help in that regard.
  10. Oh... and there are also a few known ATI driver issues that can cause a crash. The one I know of for certain is related to so called "legacy" Radeon cards, but you seem to be using a newer one, so I dunno. Ian, our resident hardware/driver guru, may be able to help.
  11. Sarjen, do you have some kind of custom mouse cursor or something like that? I seem to recall that you may run into various issues with various programs of that sort. I am not 100% sure but the www.battlefront.com/helpdesk (click on Knowledgebase) may have an article about it, probably somewhere in the CMSF section.
  12. The toolbar, right now, is not much more than a browser plugin that provides you with a link to Battlefront's news, alerts you to forum posts and the like. There are some other nifty apps you can get for it, too, provided by Conduit. We will expand on the Toolbar at some point to add multiplayer functionalities, such as a PBEM Helper, and get a proper chat lobby for hooking up for multiplayer games, too. At least that is the plan. It just keeps getting postponed because of those pesky games we gotta do once in a while
  13. 1) the hotkeys.txt file is inside the App. Right click to "show package contents", then look under Resources/Data. 2) You can download the toolbar for Safari from here: http://battlefrontcom.ourtoolbar.com/
  14. Have you read the Mac Performance doc that is included in the demo?
  15. With ATI cards, you HAVE to have the "ATI Compatibility" setting in the Options enabled, otherwise you will get crashes when you click. The compatibility setting is required to work around a bug in ATI drivers related to mouse clicks.
  16. Sounds like what came up was the EXIT screen (that you see every time when you exit the game). Doesn't sound like an issue with the intro video, because that's not the first thing that runs. The first thing that runs is the intro splash screen, and that is basically just a simple HTML page. You do need Internet Explorer for that to show up (for the PC version only). Another thing to check always these days is if your anti-virus or other security software isn't interfering with the demo launch. The demo is encrypted, so depending on your settings, it may trigger a false positive. Note also that the demo (and full game) won't work if you are using a VirtualMachine. Some AV programs virtualize your PC, and the game/demo won't run.
  17. Must be your download since noone else is having issues with it.
  18. There are NEW links on our download page, and the American mirror of Worthplaying has been fixed from what I hear.
  19. OS X 10.6 is the minimum version required to run the game. It will not work on 10.5 and earlier.
  20. Hi guys, yeah, looks like we won't be using Filefactory anytime soon again It was a quick stopgap measure to get you an alternative link, since the Worthplaying mirror had a problem, too. We now have a couple more links, including two reliable ones, for both PC and Mac. Martin
  21. Yeah, it was a stopgap measure to get you another mirror quickly last night. At least it worked for some. We have more reliable mirrors up there now.
  22. Hi guys, sorry about the download troubles. We have put up a couple more links in the meantime, including to two reliable mirrors, for both the PC and Mac version. So things should go much better from now on.
  23. Michael, look for a text link at the end of the process. It says something like this: Download with FileFactory Basic
  24. Not yet. Looks like they got the word too late to put it up tonight.
