G B Scurlock
Wondering if a patch is being worked on and if so would the Dev's be at liberty to say what areas it might be addressing. Apologies if this has already be mentioned.
Michael Emrys
Wondering if a patch is being worked on... Yes. ...and if so would the Dev's be at liberty to say what areas it might be addressing. No. Apologies if this has already be mentioned. Noted. Michael
G B Scurlock
Short and to the point. I like it.
herr_oberst
Short and to the point. I like it. Now if we could just squash that enormous ego-sigline, it wouldn't take half a page to get past that short answer...
WineCape
We had 5 major iterations of patch v1.01 so far. It's currently in RC2 status, but that, unfortunately, means nothing, as RC status can go up to double digits in # sequence.
MikeyD
Someone else on another topic mentioned 70-odd 'fixes' so far and counting. I'm not confirming, not denying, not even bothering to count, myself. I can't even recall who had said it and where. I'm just related what someone else posted.
WineCape
Heh, the 70-odd and counting are only the heads of the hairy bugs. Phil and Charles will tell you that if you count the body parts/limbs going with these heads, it is decidely more of a carnage and a gruesome field excercise.

I have scenario designs I'm sitting on. Bummer.
Paper Tiger
Um, this makes it sound like we should shelve the game for a few months Nah! It just means that you shouldn't get too excited about it being a 'Release Candidate'. Some folks might expect it tomorrow. Nobody knows when the patch will be released. It might be before this weekend, or towards the end of the month, or, etc, etc. We really don't know. I have scenario designs I'm sitting on And the game works fine just now. All the content that shipped with the title was created using V1.0, as is all the user-created content uploaded to the Repository to date and it's not too shabby.
MikeyD
Don't let your imagination run away with you regarding the upcoming patch. Nobody's adding flying monkeys from the Wizard of Oz to the German TO&E, or anything like that. If you check out the readme files for patches that came out for CMSF you'll see the sorts of incrimental improvements you might expect to see. If a small change was made to something you never noticed anyway you probably won't notice the change either.

stoex
I'm pretty sure we can still make it be about a quilt if you would like that.
beatmasta
How does the saved games from 1.0 version work with the patch? Or do they end up being corrupted as in some other games tend to happen?
womble
I thought this thread was going to be about a quilt. I thought it was going to be about how to make a network of fields look appropriately patchworky.

grunt_GI
As long as that darn MAC OSX X1600 video driver issue is killed dead, dead, dead, I will be happy.
gnorffy
The only reason I am anxious for the patch is because I know that the longer it is worked on, the longer it will be before the Commonwealth module is ready.
LarsS
As long as THE issue that makes the game unplayable gets fixed, I'll be happy. Yes, I'm talking about the fact that the Panzerfaust 30 is labelled with the user instructions for the Panzerfaust 30k. Oh, I almost forgot: the clang when small arms fire hits railroad tracks is 5 Hz too high. I assume it's number two on the list of fixes in the patch.
Dadekster88
I almost believed you were serious but when I saw the three exclamation points I realized you were saying this tongue in cheek. I hope they fix the small arms versus rail tracks thing as well though. Drives me bonkers!!!
Holman
That explains why my riflemen keep opening up on tanks. Somebody slapped the PaK 43 label on their Mausers!
stoex
I stopped playing CMSF when I found that all the RPG-7 rounds had the exact same serial number. Totally broke the immersion.
