  1. Another trick is to blind the ATG with smoke. In that particular battle I did that and was able to move my infantry close to the guns and kill the crew.
  2. That is probably because also the ammo of the neighboring unit is counted there as each mortar are able to use each others ammo. When they go separate ways they are not anymore able to use the other units ammo and therefore screen shows only half of the ammo. If you move them close to each other again then the ammo should "double" again.
  3. *** MINOR SPOILER ALERT**** For example the first one where I command the XXX corps and particularly the one with paras where I had to capture the island behind a bridge. That was very hard, had to restart it few times but had to adapt a tactic which didn't include hugging the dirt in the ditches
  4. The problems I've been facing are with the Nijmegen campaign. And in this scenario which I'm playing has quite open terrain and basically only cover is the ditches and as they don't seem to work properly my troops are being slaughtered while they can't get into cover...
  5. Not sure if this has been discussed already but I have had big problems of using the new ditch in the MG module. They seem to be quite deep and should give good cover to soldiers but instead seems to be death traps.... Or am I doing something wrong as the pixeltruppen are manning them totally wrong... When I order them to the ditch squares I would expect them to take proper cover in them but now they expose themselves very badly... And when I order them into the ditch and give them hide command I would expect them to crawl to the deepest bottom of the ditch but no, they just lie in the edges and again expose themselves without any cover...
  6. And wasn't it that because the SF was forced to be released by some big company (can't remember which one though...) on a pre determined release date and not when BFC saw the game to be ready and releasable? And now they try to avoid the same thing happening again.
  7. Last year (June) BFC posted that their plan for the next 12 months is to release Normandy module 2, Eastern Front 1 and Shock Force 2. I think the Fortress Italy was not mentioned there and came as a nice surprise soon after. Steve specified the plans that during the next year 6/2012-6/2013 their plan is to release 3 base games and 3 modules. Now after that year has passed we've seen 1 base game and 1 module but not any of those that were mentioned in the initial Road Ahead (http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=104854) Hopefully the Market Garden is soon to be released but it has not yet even officially announced. That's a lot of stuff to play but I have to say that I'm a bit disappointed as the expectations were pretty high after those unofficial announcements. I still don't think BFC is going to release lot's of stuff in a short period so those new base games and modules (except MG) are still pretty far away? Would be nice to hear how the plans have changed and what can we wait to happen during the next 6-12 months. Or has these been posted elsewhere and i have just missed them? If yes, could someone be kind and attach a link to those news here.
  8. I don't think so... The trailer seems to be a teaser for a announcement of that module and not the release yet. Though I really hope I'm wrong and we to get to play that soon
  9. How many people actually will need more than 10x dl's? I have downloaded each of the titles once and have a backup (or two) of them and never re-downloaded a copy. Of course it's understandable that backup's get destroyed every once in a while, but 10+ times??
  10. I think this movie must be a big event as it has been posted on both forums
  11. Have you been able to replicate that problem with the save game you have? Or is it a random occurrence? If yes, i think it might be pretty hard to locate if that happens twice a year... And if the problem (even though annoying it must be) is not more frequent than that, isn't it possible to replay the turn?
  12. Looks more like an action movie than historically accurate movie. And it has the mandatory war movie love story included as well. I think I'll pass...
  13. My granpa told that during the war he and his comrades drank some german cough medicine and after that stayed awake for 5 days. When they finally fell asleep it happened in a ditch next to an artillery battery which was constantly firing and they didn't wake up to that noise in a long long time.
  14. So does that "thing" belong to the air forces or tank corps
  15. Hah, I made a quick search, but didn't do a proper search So if needed, modders can either relocate or delete this thread.
  16. Interesting thing is that there is lots of series of images from certain event, not just random photos from here and there. For example this one http://tinyurl.com/ldyjzf9 taken in Tali-Ihantala, the biggest battle in the Nordic history. That was taken from the firing position of an 75mm at-gun and the effect it has done to a t-34. Following is lots of photos from that particular battle
  17. Yep, this is not an exactly right forum for this post but I think there might be someone interested to see these photos (if this has not been posted here earlier). Finnish Defense Forces openend a while ago a web site where they released about 160 000 photos from the WW2, most of the photos published never before. Full archive can be found here http://sa-kuva.fi/neo?tem=webneoeng and few selected ones here http://www.theatlantic.com/infocus/2013/05/finland-in-world-war-ii/100519/ On the larger scale the Finnish front was minor theatre but as a Finn it would be nice to see one day a Finnish front module or two to be released for the eastern front titles. Market for that would be quite minimal compared to the more popular titles so hopes are not high but you can always have a dream
  18. I have not played PC so i can't say much about that but I would say that CM has some flaws. Not that the artillery is too effective. I'm sure that when a unit that is hit like they do in CM they will have very high casualty rates, even higer than in CM. The problem is that the CM arty strikes seem to be too accurate and too concentrated. I think it would be very rare if you set a battery of artillery hit a point target to get as small impact area as they do in CM and as fast as it is spotted. But what I have read about the PC and what I've read and seen about real life events I'd say that CM is a lot more realistic than PC.
  19. Not necessarily As Steve said (take the if away form his words ) they sent the files on Monday and test started on Tuesday. Then something went wrong and they started the prep phase again so the testers will start the downloads tomorrow. As nothing is released on Fridays then then we can expect the release the next week if no more problems arise.
  20. This will be a nightmare scenario for the PBEM players
