Battlefront.com
Ehm. I just wanted to vent a bit here. I have a slow net connection and just wasted 6 hours of bandwidth downloading some of the tripe that is on Joe Shaw's podcast website. I wound up listening to Joe, Berli, Sir 37mm, and other assorted wackos (no offence intended) for 40 minutes. How bad was it? Well, that wasn't worth delaying CM:SF's development, that's all I have to say. For those who truly have nothing better to do (including suicide), you can see what I mean for yourself: http://pengchallenge.blogspot.com/ Worst of all, I know that The Justicar For Life has MORE podcasts sitting on his harddrive. Some people ponder the meaning of the Universe, others wonder if there is a God. Myself, I wonder how the greatest communications tool ever invented could be wasted on hosting such utter tosh (as those silly Brits might say). Thankfully, our Forums here at Battlefront.com are all contributors to the expansion of the Human mind. Present Mother Beautiful Thread excluded, of course. Steve I am BUSY damnit ... earning my daily bread through the sweat off my brow, mind you the new green eyeshade does go aways towards keeping the sweat OFF the bread so that's a good thing. I do indeed have podcasts in the can ... as we in BROADCASTING say. But they are RAW, unfinished and unfiltered. Why in SOME of them the interviewee actually says more than Your Beloved Justicar for Life of the Peng Challenge Thread! So editing is required to establish the proper balance ... AND THAT TAKES TIME. When I have to WORK to earn the money needed to pay the exhorbitant fees I pay to HOST the podcasts (upwards of FIVE BUCKS A MONTH OF MY MONEY) it would SEEM that some appreciation would be heard ... But NOOooooooo! No, Steve of the Tin Cup and String ISP MUST complain because HIS tinny and discordant voice isn't among the podcasts hosted to date. AND he has the temerity to suggest that he wasted his time! HaH! I've half a mind to match HIS half a mind with the half a mind commonly displayed by Sir Sir 37mm and come up with ... uh ... well it wouldn't be pretty let me tell you. I'm back in town BUT I'M STILL BUSY. Hope to get a podcast on the air this weekend BUT NO PROMISES 'CAUSE I'M BUSY DAMNIT! Joe

I have a reasonably quick connection (1.5MB), but I wouldn't touch one of Dirty Joe's podcasts with a barge pole. For that matter, I wouldn't touch Dirty Joe with a barge pole either. Not if I ever wanted to use the barge pole for something else, like poling a barge, for instance. He didn't get the name of Dirty Joe for selling pornographic materials to schoolkids, you know. Well, not just for that. Michael [ July 20, 2006, 09:43 AM: Message edited by: Michael Emrys ]
