Telegram accounts close to the Wagner Group, which fights in Ukraine alongside the Russian army, published a video showing a man, his skull taped to a block of stone, hit in the head with a club. It is said to be a soldier of the group who deliberately surrendered to the Ukrainian army but was then recaptured by the Russians. The leader of Wagner's mercenaries, Yevgeny Prigozhin, confirmed the execution on Sunday. "In this show, we see that [this man] did not find his happiness in Ukraine, but that he met unkind but fair people" , he commented, quoted by his press service. “It's a magnificent work of realization, it can be seen in one sitting. I hope no animals were harmed during the filming ,” Mr. Prigojine added. Neither Le Monde nor news agencies were able to confirm the authenticity of this video immediately. On Twitter , blogger Dimko Zhluktenko claims to have known the executed soldier. “He was a prisoner of war, captured [by Ukrainian soldiers] from the Skala battalion; I was present when he was captured and taken prisoner of war, before being exchanged” , Friday, against Ukrainian soldiers, detained in Russia. Since 2014, Wagner Group mercenaries have been accused of serving the interests of Vladimir Putin's regime in numerous conflict zones, including Syria and Ukraine. There were detonations heard In previous days Russians started relocation of the base some 20 km to SW to the outskirts of Havrylivka Druha village. It was always like that since its inception in 1943. Stalin ordered the creation of it to help brainwash soldiers into dying with little remorse and so it began. It was always (and to this day) ran by the highest ranking KGB officers, so all sermons were properly crafted by the agency and so it never put any value into human life with maximum militarism and dehumanization of both the enemy and the listener in its "religious" texts. We know Russia has been trying to reinforce it via tweet below. Control of the Dnipro is essential for the economic future of Ukraine, including the mouth of the river. We know the U.S supplied riverine boats to Ukraine, could it actually be possible for Ukraine to take and hold the area? This should have been a suicide charge for the UKR team? Unbelievable reckless courage that succeeded due to utter RU incompetence/lack of morale as far as I can tell. Here another video of fighting in this place from 59th motorized infantry brigade. I don't know, why it says about Kadyrov's fighters - usual RU regulars, maybe from Caucasian region.
