bobo
I was playing Barkmann’s Corner this weekend and I notice that Barkmann’s Panther was swaying backward like a teeter totter when firing. Just browsing YouTube took me to a video that showed the Panther firing and steady as you would think a 44 ton monster would be when firing. BFC fix or do somefink! same issue in CMRT. Didn’t check CMFI. bobo

mjkerner
Seems like all tanks and TDS, etc., bounce way too much when firing. This was brought up eons ago when CMBN first came out. BFC may even have toned them down a bit...don’t recall for certain, but if they did adjust it, they didn’t go far enough, IMHO.
Lucky_Strike
Slow mo of a Sherman Easy Eight firing - at about 5:50 they do an overhead of it firing and you can see how much (not much) the front of the tank moves.

There's another video of some guy using the same tank to shoot up some gun safes, can see how effective the 76mm was, but again he misses with his first shot - reckon the sights must be a bit off!
bobo
Didn’t really trust any newer videos shooting old guns... but old footage and newer Abrams videos show the “issue” which is probably related to action point grid one somefink... not really necessary to complain about but it did give me a topic for a post.
ASL Veteran
As I recall BFC stated that it was intentionally done that way as a way for the player to have more visual stimulation of something 'happening' when the tank fires or something along those lines. Anyway, it's not an oversight but rather a deliberate thing included in the game.

Someone should tell them it was not designed to hit a melon 20 yards away. And perhaps also what 'order of magnitude' means. Nevertheless, good fun.
bobo
It’s not a bug! It’s a feature! Probably makes sense for real time play. now I need to play more games that don’t focus on a Panther firing. JoMac
Now, and if you get really close to any armor firing an MG, you will also notice a very tiny bit of rocking.
Lucky_Strike
One more before bedtime - now these ones certainly do move a bit Not quite the most powerful, but man do some folks have all the fun ... Now I’m gonna have to look at a PaK40 in game to see if they jump! Edited November 25, 2020 by Lucky_Strike
Lucky_Strike
Okay, one more, this really is the last one, M10’s firing in artillery role, look around 0:15 and 0:30 - proper bit of bounce, but still not much. Don’t worry, there’s no sound on this - you haven’t gone deaf watching too many big gun videos ... Nice camo as well! weapon2010
some interesting tank shell scenes in this clip
user1000
Didn't the tanks have the option for the driver to set track brakes when firing? That stopped the rocking. Also panther in first vid is shooting forward, maybe the side will rock. Edited November 27, 2020 by user1000

Interesting shots of things you don't usually get to see in detail and a bunch of crap.
