Hello,

I am brand new to the game, but enjoying things so far as I learn the game. Is there a hotkey to take a screenshot? Also is there a way of hiding the UI, overlays and icons, for the purpose of screenshots or just enjoying the scenery?

There are some hotkeys which you can look up in game and also in the manual, some of them:

Alt-Z .............................................. Toggle Command Links

Alt-M ............................................. Toggle War Movie Mode

Alt-L .............................................. Toggle Show Landmarks

Alt-J .............................................. Toggle Show Objectives

Alt-I .............................................. Toggle Floating Icons

 

There is no built in screenshot utility, and you cannot hide the game controls at the bottom, but you can cut it from the picture later with your favorite editor.

i have the xbox dash, which works brilliantly, did for awhile use the windows 10 feature, but it didn't work to well..

I am still using FRAPS for CM screen shots and video clips.

I have FRAPS, but I only get black screens shots.

I use the Nvidia software for screenshots, works well.  If you have an Nvidia card of course .

Use the Print Screen button on your computer and then paste it to Pain and you can then edit or resize the picture.

For some reason Print Screen usually gives me the game's loading screen even though I'm in a battle, or sometimes a black screen as Nathangun said above.

Window+Shift+S works sometimes and sometimes you must do it twice. Like Vacilllator said push the screen button and click past in an editor.

Print screen works and is fine if you only need one shot. But if you want to take multiple screens then use something else so you're not continually alt-tabbing to save the screen grab. FRAPS is what I use too.

Just point it to a folder and snap as many as you like.
