Here are the fixed Shermans. They're not the best but they do the job.

You underestimate the amount of work that requires. Making 1940-1943 CM takes a lot more than just throwing out a few vehicle packs, you also need new TO&Es for every nation involved, which as R2V demonstrates can very well be a colossal amount of work compared to making new uniforms and vehicles. The Eastern Front during 1942 and 1943 was not exactly fought in Poland, Bielorussia or the Baltic States, it was happening in the Ukrainian and Caucasian steppes, if it isn't Northern Russia. Buildings in Northern France and Belgium can be different as well.

Aris did not create a Sicily (tan) version of the M4A1 Mid. Only a mainland (mickey mouse) camo and an OD scheme exist.
Personally I had noticed this a while ago and did some switching and stitching to fix that. Unfortunately I won't have my home PC until the end of the week to share it with you.
Also, here's to hoping he'll be back for R2V. Right now the Brummbars are sticking out like a sore thumb, and so will the new 76 Shermans and StuG IV.

Yeah, Graviteam pulled it off. You can only see enemy entrenchments when your troops spot them. However fortifications (long trenchlines, pillboxes) that are permanently on the map show up at all times, you just don't know if they're occupied.

Having an autoloader doesn't mean that being a tank crewman is less manual. What do you do when your tank throws a track, or something else fails and doesn't really warrant a recovery crew?

I often hear even people in the Army repeat this.
5.56 was for standardization in NATO (really it's just the US that adopted 5.56 and NATO followed suit, among them some very angry Brits who had spent a decade designing an intermediate cartridge and a rifle to fire it from scratch).
Its advantages over 7.62 were that a grunt could hump more ammunition for the same weight. This is definitely more important to an infantryman than making sure you're wounding your enemy, who might be left behind anyway, and the 7.62 round's power was judged too excessive due to its effective range usually exceeding today's usual combat ranges, especially since these days where urban combat is much more common, and is an integral part of combat training today, unlike during WW2 for example where people just tossed grenades and went in guns blazing with rifles and SMG's.

In fact, the first 5.56 rounds fired in Vietnam, the M193 Ball, created wounds that were judged as too gruesome by the US military. They tumbled inside the target's body and made gory exit wounds. It was replaced by the Belgian SS109, the M855 in the US.

Do you have any proof of this? Weapons have never been designed to maim, they only do so because they've failed to kill. "Weapons" that are designed to maim are torture devices.
Anyway, I believe wounds in this game do not need to be detailed further than "this wounded man can fight on" and "this wounded man cannot fight on and must be evacuated" or "this man is dead". Because in the end that is all that matters to a commander.

I'd taken zero casualties at that time. I definitely don't think it's tied to that, in fact it seems you make erroneous connections often in front of coincidences.

Oh Christ, I didn't even think of taking Juju's UI ranks off. Thanks for reminding me to do that. All ranks seem pretty much correct now.
It seems patch v312, which apparently came out after the last version of that mod changed the KM ranks.
Anyway, it made for a nice discussion.

Those specops you're talking about would most of the time be doing spooky stuff far behind enemy lines (except maybe the Rangers and of course the already existing Syrian special forces). Combat Mission is not the best at simulating specops stuff, since it's mostly focused on frontline combined arms combat, so let's not stray too far from the subject matter.

Err, did you rename "background wind" to "background day combat" and put it at the root of the Mods folder? Put it in a folder of which the name starts with "z" if it doesn't work.
Don't put the "z" in the actual file's name, it won't work.
I'm taking a look at the mod and I see a "background day combat [mountains]". Try to duplicate "background winds" and name it "background day combat [mountains]" as well. I don't use the Mods folder in Documents so I have no clue how differently it works from just putting a Z folder into the Data folder.
