Don't forget steam workshop, something I'm shocked hasn't been set up because it would instantly replace all of the various map and mission repositories while being much easier to use.  

Steam is nice because there is no additional book keeping with regards to installing and playing game when you get a new computer.  All your games are in one account so you don't have to go back to old emails to try and find battlefront serial numbers.  In addition, new patches are automatically installed.  Finally, you have a single place to go to buy additional games or DLCs.  This is why Steam is so popular.  I strongly support the move to Steam and am a bit shocked that Battlefront made the move given their bashing of it in years past.

putin decides literally nothing at this point. Russians would tear him apart should he try to order a full retreat. It's not "putin's war".
He allowed russians to be russian, to finally let what they suppressed for 30 years out - the barbaric nature of their culture. Russians are out for blood and trying to somehow punish only one of them has no effect at this point.

It's pretty clear to me, with Putin maxing up on a general mobilisation, he's not giving up. The West cannot afford to let Putin win, hence we'll see more and more involvement from the West. The next thing is longer range artillery, tanks, then aircraft. After, if necessary then it will be western crewed aircraft, and the full gambit of NATO war techn. Finally, it will be men, boots on the ground. The West cannot allow Putin to win. That realisation has seeped through western leadership.

In Krivoy Rog, the electricity situation remains stable. In my area, electricity is always available and only goes out on the day of the rocket attacks. And then during the day it is completely restored. In Irpin, my neighbors report that they have returned to the stabilization schedules of shutdown (4 hours of electricity, 4 hours of electricity off). When I left there in early December, the electricity was about 2-4 hours a day

Im waiting on another Modern Version of CM to come out. SF2 & Black Sea I could play all day. Doesn't even have to be historically accurate. Or maybe Iraq or Afghanistan. As much as I appreciate history, I prefer more modern combat. Only thing I would change or do differently, is the ability to drop-off/pick up a squad via UH-60. But nonetheless I appreciate what's been done so far.

I'm back. Week ago Kyiv and Kyiv oblast were under heavy attack of Shakheds. More than 30 in one launch. Alas at least five could breakthrough and hit several important substations in Kyiv, so our quarter for three days had only five hours with a power supply,mostly at the night. First day we also hadn't a water and heating. Latter was repaired on second day after the strike and this was in time,because we had -5 at that night. 
In other days electricity appeared some more, but anyway mostly at the nights or at the morning for 2-3 hours. So, we had opportunity to cook something and charge our phones. Several times we heated food in large can with dry spiritus and kept it in heating bateries. We were very angry, when have seen other districts around us with a light at the evening, but our several quarters were almost in full darkness.

Without electricity all cell towers around were either dead or had  so big abonents load, that internet almost didn't work. Sometime I cought Starlink, deployed by Emergency Service, but it was too far and connection was unstable - about 1-2 minutes. Single place,where I can catch cell phone internet was subway and streets, having power supply. But I had too much work out of my workshop, so almost hadn't time to track   news thoroughly.
At last at weekend, maybe in honor of Christmass our quarter got almost 24hours power

(Some of) You US forum members comment on politics in other countries like you are automatically right because you are the grown-ups and the rest of the world are just squabbling children. And yet you can't even discuss something as disgusting as the words of this Carlson guy without being at each other's throats.
And I wish I could blame you for it but we are no better. The thing is, we discussed more than once that the current conflict is a clash of systems. But what good is democracy when we can't actually discuss politics?

FWIW feedback on the scenario: while I get it's a tournament and so that calls for more 'balanced' games, I'm not really a fan of maps where you start in LOS/LOF of the enemy. 
I'll still enjoy the battle and there are some tactical options available in the of the valley center ;-), it feels a bit more like gambling than tactical warfare. Some more covered paths to the valley would have been nice imo.

I do want to warn that Ukrainian self-censorship and clampdown on information is in full swing, so while everything may be sort of rosy on the outside, we have no idea internally how bad or near exhausted the supply situation is, so we might be able to say "Russia is on the ropes", but certainly Ukraine will not broadcast the same. Something to consider. Ukraine won't be broadcasting that their supply of Soviet era tanks or IFVs is almost spent, and their begging for 155mm was pure final desperation before exhausting the stocks.

Hang on, the Soviet soldier in 1945 Berlin was famously a thug riding a stolen bike and festooned with watches (I guess it was more difficult to carry away a washing machine on a bike than in a BTR). The fact that he unintentionally helped to save half of Europe for democracy does not change the above bit.

In this case the design decision is "prevent users from modifying software", which would include user created fixes for these problems. Anyone who has ever played a Paradox grand strategy game is aware of the concept of user created "patch" mods, because Paradox can often drag its feet for months and months on simple typos in scripts that break features.

Yet in CMBS T-90s are left without front armour since the last patch 8+ months ago. If the game was easier to mod, maybe the community could pick up on some of Battlefront's slack, and that would do more for the game's "integrity" than avoiding silly mods. Maybe we could get the Porsche Kingtiger back in CMBN, 32 months after it disappeared, or correct some of the very silly point values in quickbattle.

I'm totally on board with the answer 'no modding because we need to be able to monetise content' because I think game devs should absolutely be entitled to do that, but 'no modding because someone might have fun' is such a strange philosophy to have.
