  1. !!!WIP!!! 62nd Army and 6th Army MASTERTOE. 40 pages of 1942 TOE: https://www.dropbox.com/s/czyncxcd690chrg/6th .btt?dl=0
  2. Remember the last time the two met up for the 2022 winter olympics the war started! What an absolute twist from 1945.
  3. Thanks for the insight, I'm not surprised. India seems like a very fast paced environment with the extreme population density they have to suffer with. It appears for sure they have ditched reliance from Russia and have instead decided to buy from the west. They have AH-64E! C130, the Air force's light workhorse airlifter. They had 6, but one crashed. If that seems small, their Il-76 fleet was only 17 in 2010. Apparently the Indian Air Force uses Boeing 737s too, maybe just for personnel. and they are buying C17, Air force's medium workhorse airlifter. It appears that they are in the process of slowly modernizing their kit. The transport planes are a good sell. I'm sure they're super reliable.
  4. India already has a ton of US made gear already. And 6 Billion USD? Meh! We could cut 30x that and still be the most competitive in the world. That is before China's cheaper labor catches up. Interestingly India plans to dump Russia: https://warontherocks.com/2022/05/helping-india-replace-russia-in-the-value-arms-market/ " Currently, India lacks the financial and manufacturing capacity to kickstart its indigenous defense manufacturing. The “Make in India, Make for the World” initiative launched in 2020 seeks to revive industrial heavy manufacturing by attracting domestic and foreign investments, deregulating and de-licensing industrial processes, and providing government assistance to manufacturers. In the defense sector, this initiative seeks to stop imports of defense systems such as artillery, missile destroyers, tank engines, and surface-to-air missiles by 2022. The effort to increase cash flow to domestic manufacturing resulted in import bans on entire weapons systems. To prevent import curbs from harming India’s ability to produce competitive quality weapons, however the Defense Production and Export Promotion Policy also created a Technology Assessment Cell, which will add flexibility to import restrictions. In short, India has already taken several steps to encourage domestic defense manufacturing." Further, from the link "Imports of defense systems": "India’s defence exports have recorded nearly a six-fold increase between 2017 and 2021, growing from ₹1,520 crore to ₹8,435 crore" That's $187,950,000 to just over $1,000,000,000.
  5. Love the warriors on twitter. "OMG OPSEC! They can geolocate everything! Why did you post pictures of these vehicles underneath this instantly geolocatable barn underside roof!" Blah blah blah twitter is a cesspool. I wonder how much lighter the 6x6 has to stay in order to be in service with the Finns. Surely it must have great offroad performance but is probably on the lighter side of things considering the terrain it was designed to operate in.
  6. Whether it's good or not, it's here. I've created a Stalingrad campaign map, and semi-historical Mastertoe (reduced for September) for it as well. I used material from Glantz, Joly and youtubers to research. I spent way too much time learning about the preliminaries too, crazy stuff. I present an Army level assault on a huge map. It will take place September 13th - September 30th 1942. There will be two turns per day, with one battle per grid per turn possible. The German TOE is 6th Army (One from 4th Army) which had four infantry divisions, two armored, and one motorized. They will be reinforced with two more divisions later on. The Soviet TOE is the 62nd Army in defense which contains too many divisions to list. The campaign is being hosted on TheFGM since I am able to split teams with a password: https://www.thefewgoodmen.com/thefgmforum/forums/cmrt-top-commander.493/ Formations will start full strength instead of their historical strengths, despite numerous and specific infantry/tank strength reports. Everything is being hosted in a program called "Geccos" which is similar to vassal. More about that digital campaign tracker in the link above. An image of the campaign in Geccos is at the bottom. It only shows troops on the front line to start. Supply, Ammo Dumps, Signals, Medical are all planned. More detailed information at the link above On September 12th, LTG V.I. Chuikov replaced LTG A.I. Lopatin as commander of 62nd Army, and thus the defense of Stalingrad. That night he entered the city and observed the burned out wreck that was left of it. He was driven 800 meters behind the front lines to 62nd's Army HQ to meet General Krylov, 62nd Army's Chief of Staff and Commissar Gurov. The next day the German Assault on the city would begin. ----- ----- -----
  7. Marioupol is faaar. I imagine that will be one of the last places to be reclaimed, given it's nearly right on top of the Russian border, and it's already pretty beat up, and is probably little importance besides being a major population center
  8. I thought AMD cpu's had pretty good single core performance. What model do you have, and also what gpu? AMD gpu's arw notorious around here for having OpenGL issues, on top of poor OpenGL performance. I have never had performance problems in CMCW with my i5 9600k, and my now rtx 3060 ti
  9. I agree. I guess Uncle Sam knows how to treat his boys, which trickles down to us.
  10. Wow very exciting! I was wondering if George was on the team, after playing through some maps of his maps by myself. The extreme attention to detail makes me feel like every 10000m^2 was thoroughly inspected in the 3D editor after being placed in the 2D editor. If you play his maps, you probably know the elevation work is immaculate. I.E. : dirt paths which are lower than the fields surrounding them. You have to really look out for the details because they're there. I look forward to these 14 new flavors to add to my games.
  11. I havent tried it yet but the file is a cheat table. Interesting stuff
  12. Good idea, these items are generally neglected IMO
  13. Lol well they're asking for it. I'm sure the Ukrainians won't mind taking over the A-10 fleet at some point.. now or after.
  14. The same function can be said for the US Bradley teams. They are supposed to intermix in each other's vehicles since there isnt room for everyone in the platoon. Not exactly what I was looking for, but close: http://241atl232uqw4cfhbq361wua.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/image0035.jpg
  15. Of course not. The C2 range does not get smaller when you split squads.
  16. Of course every commander should strive to keep their troops in contact always. Splitting squads doesn't make this harder
  17. Hah, as Ukraine knows: ground can always be regained. Elastic Defense has seemingly worked for them. Focusing on kills instead of ground gained is how you win wars. I definitely had the feeling of "This is what we're fighting for". Heartwarming stuff

  19. For sure, relying on very weak lines to hold an enormous frontage. It'd be different if this was a real war where a reserve force could come and exploit the pocket. This is what happens when you're on the wrong side of the crescent. If the Russians wanted to minimize their distance travelled they would stick closest to the front line, exposing them to artillery fire. The russians should have ceded territory to clean up their lines. What a total mess.
  20. They are brothers with different engines as far as I know. Same ERA (I think?) same FCS (For sure). They both represent the finest spearhead the Russian ground forces can offer. According to Oryx, half of that modern fleet has already been killed.
  21. I'm sure the LAST thing the Russians expect is a counterattack into the rear of Izium, Lyman, and finally Siverodonetsk. Just like 6th army in 1942, maybe it would be wise to ride the river. Hey they would be liberating the coast as said.
