  1. I really don't think this is the correct way to do things. You're getting people to shoot up the streets? Ehhh, maybe times were different in WW2 when this was unheard of. Every sort of shooting or whatnot that happens will be taken as a "terrorist" act. I guess there really isn't anyone in the world left to judge the Terroristees, I doubt anyone from the West would find it as much of a big deal if it happens in Russia. I do think a mobilisation office is riding a line between being the right and wrong place. Sure you have uniforms working there, but is that all? You have civilians who are probably present. Burning the place down is a little different, and seems to usually happen at night when the place is vacant anyway. The end goal is about sending a message. Idk, just seems wrong to me.

  3. Well shooting ppls up probably isnt the best way to go about it, that is pretty much terrorism. I understand what you mean, the partisans would have to combat real military targets. We aren't at the point of total warfare, like the war of hate that we saw 80 years prior.
  4. After making this video I'm even more convinced. This is just one instance, one M2 shooting through smoke despite me having eyes on everything and knowing my opponents vehicle positions (From the past few turns).
  5. Maybe our game started before 1.05? I'm sure we are both updated by this point though. Could the game possibly still be playing out in v1.04 or earlier despite us having updated games?
  6. This bug was squashed?? It just happened to me for at least 3 turns. M113s engaging me while theyre inside kriegsburg, I have the place surrounded, dropping 2 fire missions on the place. 1 was 420 rounds of 122mm and the other was 100 rounds of 120mm smoke. The place looks like a hurricane on a weather map. Yet I have soldiers who are trying to bound in the fields getting chopped down by .50 only, through huge clouds of smoke. I must have over 200 eyes watching this place and I'm getting unknown .50 fire through the smoke. I've played the game long enough to know something isnt right here. I havent asked for my opponents turn, but this is certainly not the first time I've ran into this bug personally. Wtf.

  9. Well that tank looks like it has a lot more power than anything else in Russian service.
  10. Yeah true you can just get it for free, the paid version gives a lot of extra features (Nothing too game changing) like 1600x900 resolution. I like using a couple extra programs with SP. "X-mouse button control" so I can rebind my mousewheel up+down to minus and plus. So I can zoom in and out of the map easily. I also use "integer scaler" so I can run the game in full screen instead of windowed, since the former seems to be out of support for windows 10.
  11. Yeah as you say Joe, I used to use Green troops in place of my regulars. However, the green troops were still too good indoors. They were also too good at killing infantry inside houses. It was too difficult to hide or sneak around before on green. On conscript, these issues are alleviated, though with an accuracy issue taking its place. Small arms are a little too ineffective at times, but this is rare, and certainly happens less than any issues with green or regular troops IMO. The urban CQB, house to house, and even room to room fighting potential offered with conscript troops was too irresistible for me I haven't tried changing the settings too much, but if you drop fanatacism from extreme to high for conscripts, it will make a huge difference and they will surrender very often. If the fanatacism is raised to fanatic, then the conscripts will act like terminators. Gah.
  12. Hi, Ferenc Farkas posted his Hostomel map on TheFGM forums. I kind of forgot about that when he released the map a few months later. It came without hangars so I immediately added my own I got carried away pretty quickly. Farkas added very!!! accurate deployment zones with troops, but I put my own in, keeping the rest for v001. I made a small scenario representing wave 1 but it's only set up for h2h, and is completely unbalanced and untested for v001.   13. Thank you! I dont think the map has a thread of its own yet. I'll ask the map maker if he can post a thread in the CMBS Mod folder, if not I will do it (Eh screw it I'll just do it). Again, not my map but it was advertised as a community map so I hit it hard. I'll also post a dropbox link to that thread so the updated file is always available I haven't finished the scenario yet, it's crude in its current state. Your idea is a good one, because the Ukrainians have to take the town back to prevent the Russian armored column (Advancing from the North) from breaking through to the trapped VDV. Historically the VDV landed on the 24th, took the airport with a little resistance from the garrison, but then Ukraine counterattacked on the 25th-28th(?) with the 72nd mechanized brigade. The whole time the airport was under bombardment from 203mm Pions, preventing the rest of the VDV divisions from coming in with IL-76s. The Ukrainians thus killed, captured, or dispersed the remaining VDV troops until the Russian armored column from the North broke into the airport and town of Hostomel. They started ferrying supplies into the airport by air at this point (I think). By March, everything was starting to get beaten back. In the town and airport of Hostomel there were many destroyed VDV vehicles all over the place. My assumption is that the "Air Assault" VDV battalions equipped with BMD-2 and 4, and companies of T-72's (1 per vdv battalion or regiment I dont remember) were part of the convoy that broke through from the North on Feb. 28th and they reinforced the airport, walking over their own side's dead bodies. They then were subsequently destroyed. I'm not sure what happened to the 20 IL-76 planes (Feb 25-28(?)) loaded with troops, if they were ever delivered. Wikipedia says the 2nd wave of troops on Hostomel had hundreds of helicopters, so maybe they just sent the men in by helicopter afterward instead. Since the runway was pummeled with 203mm. I think I will focus on the map first, since it needs a good touching up, but work should be done quick. The map maker did a lot of work but maybe got a little burned out. understandable. I hope this all rejuvinates his desire to progress further with this. There were 5 or so BTR-3 (According to Oryx) at the airport seemingly parked empty in a lot. Oryx lists these all as captured (Some promptly scuttled) so I dont think they did much. In regards to BTR-4, I have no idea how many were made.   14. Was working on a map yesterday that  required me to remove like 100 walls, each requiring something like 38 clicks.

    Have you tried an autoclicker? I downloaded "gs auto clicker", and its pretty simple. I have a bind where it is set to click 38x, so i can quickly change walls if I have to click all those 38 times.

    Very useful for me, perhaps less useful for you, but maybe something to consider adding to your map making toolkit. It saved me a ton of time, especially since CM registers every single one of those 38 clicks despite being 50ms apart.

  18. Now would be the time to start supplying more advanced equipment. The front will surely quiet down. I dont think there will be any winter offensives from the russians. Guided artillery was bad before, but it could be catastrophic for troops in the snow if their forward depots get taken out.
  19. Now it is time to plan for next Spring. Theres absolutely no chance the Russians will have enough winter kit for their troops. And even by the Spring they should be pretty underequipped, notably without items as simple as combat boots.

It is made in Milan, Italy and is worth it! I would suggest laminating or permanently backing it with a thicker material if you dont plan on leaving it open on your wall for a long period of time. If you leave it rolled and open it to view it then the edges can get crinkled.   21. The Kerch Peninsula is absolutely NOT where you want to be in the defense. I wouldn't even want to begin digging trenches. Cringe.
  22. Yeah Russia's sea and air lift capabilities are a mere fraction of what they were in the 90s. Their ability to wage war in the first place is extremely limited. Their only way to put forces where they need to be is by using the ground, roads, or rail.
