  1. I can send you the panther mod real quick if you want, instead of you having to do that whole process. But now you know how to do it yourself too.
  2. Yeah so this is definitely in inbetween the title Macgyver kind of thing. the m48 is really a panther, but looks like a m48. It unfortunately has a german crew. I could have used a m36 jackson with the 90mm gun, but I decided not to since the armor was clearly inadequate, and it was open topped.
  3. So what you do is: The general idea of all this is you want to use the RezExplode program, and copy+paste your data files into that program, so you can explode them, and see what is available to with. That's the whole point of doing this for me so far. 1) So go to program files x86->battlefront->combat mission fb->data and then copy the .brz which are 1.8gb each. Then paste them into: program files x86-> battlefront-> combat missionfb-> mod tools-> rezexplode->input. 2) After the 10gb or whatever is done pasting, then back out of that folder, and double click on rezexplode to run the program. Make sure you back out of the folder in other tabs too, because the folder will want to change names and wont be able to if you are accessing it I think. So after it will turn from in progress, to output. 3) If you do this to a second game then you're able to swap vehicles between the two games. So rezexplode your 2nd game. 4) After you have both sets of files, you want to copy the M48 from cmcw over let's say. Go to rezexplode->cmcw103c (or whatever) -> vehicles-> m48 copy m48 paste that folder in your documents-> battlefront->combat mission->fb->user data-> (m48 ... this is the copied folder). --------------------------------------------- You ONLY have to do 4 easy things after this. Lets say you want to use the Panther G (late) as the host vehicle for the m48 to really be under the model swap. You choose panther G because the m48 has a 90mm gun which is much better than the 76mm on the sherman jumbo. OK so 1) copy the name of the .mdr from program files x86->combat mission-> mod tools->rezexplode->output->vehicles->panther it will be "panther-g-late.mdr". Copy that name, and replace the m48-patton.mdr's name found in the documents folder: documents->combat mission fb->user data->m48 Follow that with a space, and in brackets you will assign it a mod tag. it will look like this: panther-g-late [patton] (this used to be the m48-patton.mdr) That file is good! Now two more: 2) Panther-ausf-g-(late)-lod-2.mdr, same process as above. keep the lod-2 part, and add the new [patton] mod tag. (Whatever the name is, I don't remember... lol Kohelkalu said the same line to me about the same thing). 3) panther-asuf-g-(late)-lod-4.mdr, same process as above. FINALLY! You want to add a mod tag to: documents->combat mission->Game files->tags It will be a .txt file which will have as many mod tags as you want inside, each doing something different to the graphics ingame. You can name the .txt anything you want, but inside of it you have to type "patton". If you want to add another tag to that then separate with a comma only. So finally again, load up your game and scenario editor, in the mission tab that opens right away, at the bottom it will say Mod tags. Click that, then import, and click the new .txt file you created, which will be in your Document's Game Files. It should say patton up top ingame on screen if you did it correct. Now you can buy a panther ausf g late and load up the editor and see if it worked!
  4. Sure, Here are some pictures before the shooting begins: It doesn't look too good with the big IR light beside the gun, but eh, I'll live with it.
  5. Yep I got it ingame. And Phil helped me with it! He's the man. I replaced panther ausf g. (Late) with the m48 from cmcw. I fell asleep before they came in though. Much bigger than a sherman.
  6. I would imagine the officer corps would be studying the land whether it be on paper or in person. I wouldnt be surprised if the side that had the best staff work usually did better in battle. I know thats what made Paulus from a battalion(?) commander straight to an army level commander back in 1942. Maybe it was me? I mentioned Ukrainian javelins. The acquire feature is a pretty useful one. I wish it was more fleshed out, i.e. ammo on 2nd or 3rd stories.
  7. That's true, even if the image quality was great I don't think you would be able to tell which vehicles are usable. I didn't know that about 1st Guards Tank Army nor where they store their equipment. I guess one of the numbered "military bases"? If that report comes up I'd be interested in reading it, since I missed it.
  8. Interesting video once you cut to the chase: TLDW: 700 or so tanks alone removed from the 7 or 8 largest Russian storage sites in the past year or so.
  9. Yes I see now, the map has a ton of rolling hills. You wouldn't notice it unless you loaded the map up in the 3d editor and checked it out. Nice little hidden gem. Then again FB is my least played title.
  10. Why not add the M48 from CMCW as the sherman m4a3e2 jumbo 76 or something similar from cmcw? Actually I'm going to give it a swing right now.
  11. Is chaumont a georgemc map? I recall having that from CMFB
  12. This is exactly what prompted me to write about how good Der Ring Der Panzer was. If you really paid attention, and got down low for every section of troops (Which is hard to do sometimes at the battalion level unless you're in a pbem.. funny how that works) then you would see that many fields have walking paths which, when combined with the tall grass provides your men opportunities to bound to safety right in the friggen open! It helped solve some initial puzzles involving the panzer recon platoons
  13. Read closer, the dates listed were for this year and Steve went through each one shedding light on each.
  14. Best part about that, a lot of that (The better kit) was originally made in Kharkov. Too funny.
  15. Reminds me of the time I accidentally sent the overwatch platoon in instead of the assault platoon during OnePingOnly's CMRT FR tournament hosted on TheFGM. 11:55
  16. Artkin #4: Panzer III still not fixed, CMRT, latest version
  17. Artkin #3: Shermans unable to run over low hedge wall, whatever it's called. Latest version CMBN.
  18. CMRT has so much content your mind will explode. No, but you will pretty much never play through everything in CMRT + the expansions, + all the user created content. CMFB wasn't too far behind, but now it will be years behind CMRT after preorders are finally over with and the new battle pack releases! 14(? I forget) new master maps! Campaigns that you can break down into regular scenarios and edit them.. etc.. compile them back into a campaign... and they're GeorgeMC maps... they are the best of the best! Dude! By the way you can download custom made maps from other games (CMFI, CMRT) and convert them by using Hex Editor ( ) giving you a near endless supply of scenarios if that wasn't enough. For CMBN, only maps from CMBS, CMRT, CMFB, CMCW, and maybe CMFI should work. And even then, there are some exceptions. You can learn them if you get into mapmaking. Games like CMFI are quirky, and only certain maps will convert to certain games. I'm not sure why. The newer games are all mostly compatible. Cold War will take map conversions like a champion, seemingly no errors with CMBS and friends, but still unable to accept CMFI maps (Last I remember). There is a Monte Cassino map on the forums here if you want to download that, by Sburke, good map! It's a huge *** mountain with a town under it. You can convert that to your games for free. CMRT's files with all the current updates and doodads before the new preorder is sitting at 16.3GB. I think only CMBN, and CMSF2 are similar in size, but CMSF2 is old. Once CMBS gets the marines from CMSF2, and airborne Ukraine/Russian forces, then that will be the next "Game".
  19. Well at least someone knows how to avoid getting served papers. Where is Stalin now?
  20. I love it, I do the same stuff with the kriegsmarine infantry from cmrt fr 1945. They only have rifles besides the squad leader and maybe a lmg. Infantry warfare is the most satisfying, especially with conscripts, and even more especially in urban environments!
  21. Better still on the dire state of the German military in 2015: "16 CH53 transport helicopters are listed, but a previous air force internal report distributed to the Defense Ministry in August stated that only 7 were "fully" operational. With the Eurofighter fighter jet, Wednesday's official list for parliament stated that 42 aircraft were ready for deployment, but the August air force report stated that only eight were "fully" capable of operation. " https://www.spiegel.de/international/germany/ramshackle-army-at-odds-with-berlin-s-global-aspirations-a-994607.html 8 of 109 eurofighters operational and ready to go is akin to the dire situation of Hitler's panzer armies in late 1941/ early 1942. Something like 10 panzer divisions on the whole Eastern front but not even enough panzers for a single division.
  22. Lol. "Out of the German army’s 31 Tiger attack helicopters, only 10 were operational while only eight out of 33 NH-90 transport helicopters were ready for duty", "Meanwhile, the Luftwaffe could only deploy 42 of its 109 Eurofighter Typhoon multirole fighters and only 24 of the 56 remaining Transalls were available at any given time." This was in 2015. I'm not sure what the difference between "Total number" and "Available" are. The vehicles absent are either sitting in storage awaiting repairs, or are vehicles undergoing upgrades, or are deployed for operations abroad, or something similar maybe? If you look at the number of Tornado's it's telling. Out of 89 total Tornado fighter bombers, only 66 were available and only 38 deployable. Eurofighters - 109 total, 74 available, but only 42 deployable. Even Marders, 400 vehicles with only 280 available/deployable. A couple brigades isn't a whole lot to fight with on the Eastern Front. Only half their CH-53's are available, with only 16 deployable from the original total of 83. I'm no German military expert, nor an expert in the first place, but if you haven't noticed the issues with the Bundeswehr... well apparently the Fliegerkorps.. you have been living under a rock. 4 deployable Sea Lynx ASW helicopters. Yeah good luck defending the Baltic Sea with that. 23. Fine. A quick search turns up that Germany's GDP is around 3.4 trillion dollars, 2% of that would be just over 76 Billion. Isn't Germany's armored and aviation fleet in shambles currently? Or have been for a while? I don't do economics so I don't know the validity of this website, but in 2010 German defense spending was 1.27%. Their GDP was 3.4 trillion so their budget was 43 billion dollars. I understand they will not be able to bump up military spending right away, but a bunch of that new extra money will probably disappear restoring the fleet that is currently inoperable. https://www.macrotrends.net/countries/DEU/germany/military-spending-defense-budget
