They are the same crap. Wargame, wargame airland, wargame red dragon, steel division, divison 2, warno, and now regiments. Give it up Eugen, it's crap. Men of war failed with the same business model. No innovation, just a new texture pack. It honestly makes me sick seeing all the youtube sellout channels bragging about how good the game is. It's dog****.

This was a good simplification. The author should have wrote WHY people draw lines. The South Western Front 80 years 2 months and 2 days ago (Exactly) had significantly more boots on the ground. The Soviet 38th Army defended a region about the length of Kharkov to Izium. By this time they were a defeated army, but looking at the maps, other Soviet infantry armies held approximately the same length in the defense. With the infantry-based trench warfare, some similarities can be drawn. Of course the manuever forces are and armored, as they were in ww2. By this time (June 6th 1942) tanks were pretty abundant on South Western Front though nowhere near the proportion (To the infantryman) today. The Soviets alone had about 670~ tanks as of June 28th. The Germans had about 360 tanks. It's important to note that the scale of the conflict has changed dramatically.

Haha, I've thought about doing scenarios like that. It's feasable. I just think the layout is pretty cool. My scenario wouldnt be too realistic!

I've read through everything you have posted and this seems like a great game. I only know a few commanders, like Kluge and Halder. It will be satisfying to find out where they were historically. Thanks for everything you've posted

Whoever made that chart really rushed through it. Airborne APCs are now BTR's. BMD's are APC's. A couple blatant spelling errors. Also a formation like 11th Guards Air Assault Brigade was noted to have 30 BTR-80 only. My source is Rand's "Russia's limit of Advance" from 2020. Things could have changed since then, but I'll always be a skeptic of the twitter bin.

I was replying on mobile, so to do that in the first place is a huge hassle. I'm interested in troop locations, when they were formed (Tank armies formed in 1942) etc. A game like this will help put the war into better perspective for me. Being able to play it is another plus. I laughed out loud when you said you replaced Halder as your first move. Brilliant stuff.

No more tricks with the upgrades. I have never had any issues. So long as you download your latest purchases then you'll have the latest patch. for instance if you bought game engine 4 separate just download from that link instead of downloading the game with engine 3 first. You can always download the game and patch separate, but thats a hassle that we were trying to avoid. When I get home I'll check to see how my installations came. If you are getting an error from an exe then the download probably got interrupted at some point. I remember some users saying bfc's downloads were on the slower side so it could be possible. I havent downloaded anything since cmcw dropped so I dont remember.

I think it will help further my knowledge of the front. I've started doing somewhat serious reading into Army Group B, and now I've found it easier to read other books in the same setting. I've become accustomed to regiments and divisions like I used to be, with battalion in CM. So I feel this is just the next step. Also, as said, planning and executing encirclements is a lot of fun. I'm playing a 2v2 in CMBN right now where we pulled one off. It was pretty satisfying.

BTW if you want an edge on "Surviving an Early Barrage" then put your troops in the absolute best defensive positions (Or very close). Set your troops to hide before Turn 1 starts. If artillery drops on them it will do very little. If your troops are in buildings on "Hide" then artillery will do next to nothing... especially if your men are on the first floor... unless it's a near hit from a large caliber. When its safe to pick your heads back up, unhide your troops. You can use this with extreme success in your PBEMs.

The production capacity seemingly existed under the Soviet Union but not in the Russian Federation. Ok they had the largest land army, but it took them decades to build it.

What the heck, stop playing with the forum graphics! @GoodSoldierSchweik Are your downloads being interrupted at all? I hate slow downloads for this reason. One hiccup and the whole file can be corrupted. As Elvis says, try a different zip program, but I doubt this will be the issue if CMFB worked already. I recommend 7-Zip, been using it for 15 years.

Well this must be the first time in this country where you can order an international assassination for $2,000. On video too. Does this now mean law and order is unacceptable between the current regime and the US? What does this mean politically if this website is never taken down? Originally we were supplying items in "defense". It makes me think, we are kinda sorta at war with Russia now. Right? A website like that couldn't exist if it were any country other than Russia.
