  1. I wonder if this is why I see troops getting lost in hedgerow often
  2. You can. 1) Open the file in the Scenario Editor. 2) Minimize the scenario's formations on the right. This will save you time instead of having to set every team individually. 3) Click the scenario's formation so it's highlighted 4) At the bottom, set the attributes. It will override everything that's highlighted. You want to minimize the Battalions so you can do this step in 1 go per formation. 5) Save the file in your scenarios folder again, with a different name. I like to name mine Conscript after. Campaign scenarios get kind of weird when you change the troops to conscript. I tried the Tukums battle ages ago with conscript troops, but I broke it. The regular scenarios should be fine.
  3. Infantry sending supporting teams on both sides of the main march. Notice how far out the security teams are. They did this automatically, everyone is moving to the same square, or very close: Conscripts getting it: While the next company waits for orders:
  4. Conscripts on a long march. Oddly they sent two small teams to walk alongside either side of the main trail. Is this intentional behavior? Will look out for this in the future. Very cool: Conscripts getting in there:
  5. You definitely get a performance increase with a newer processor. I saw a pretty decent bump from my 2500k to my 9600k. I've had both overclocked to about thw same frequency of 4.8 ish
  6. Bump, looking for new opponents. Conscript veterancy (Snipers Veteran, recon troops regular, and engineers green). Along with those settings I am looking for a plausibly themed battalion vs battalion sized battle on a large, custom map.
  7. Infantry battle in cmcw is good too, same map
  8. I would love to play. Are you ok with larger map on cmbs? rus vs ukraine, conscript troops +extreme+ +2 leadership. I would really like to play a large infantry battle on the Der Ring Der Panzer map. You may not have this map if you dont have CMRT. But I can send it to you for CMBS of course.
  9. No I forgot how I guess. I thought only testers did that
  10. None of the commands Pause, Stop, or Route function. The team affected is the atgm team in the central town. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/yat5ao40kfc1ur5/AACr3Fe7NSbOzM_Aj_ANrL91a?dl=0
  11. Ah yes this was the bench I was thinking of when I read your message on the fly. It's so simple, and has references for you to draw on. I put up a 574 for single, and 3188 for multicore. But I am currently running two instances of CM, steam, and my web browser at the same time.
  12. I am waiting on his response already. I figure the more opinions the better. I just need pieces to move around on a jpg is all.
  13. A simulator is a game now? Right, you're going to give me nothing. Nothing new.
  14. I don't share these issues with you on a 9600k. I wonder how the single core performance compares, especially with mine overclocked. I know it wasn't until the 5xxx series of CPUs where they took over in single core performance. ATi just hasn't been competitive in a loooong time.
  15. Its all good, and if we had an easy operational layer solution available to this community I would take it. I did acquire a tool called "Geccos". It's a pretty nifty campaign builder that you can create icons and place them on a .jpg. There is no game, only this tool. It's really just a digital version of having paper icons on a paper map and moving them around with your finger. With this tool we are a step closer to having a fluid, dynamic, multi-map operational game formatted and easily understood/usable. Unfortunately this isn't a perfect solution, since a GM would be required to manage the operational gameboard, or both sides would have to know of each others troop positions. If you are tight with the enemy team you could base all your troop positions on trust. I would prefer a solution like Vassal, but I would probably need a hand with that. I think I wasted a few hours tinkering in the program so I want to wait for a pro to look over my work first. If there was a GM, they would have to manage 3 boards in geccos. 2 boards each showing only their own team's troop locations, and a third board which has both teams troop locations. The third board would belong to the GM only. We are close. I am building the troops for the Stalingrad board. Now I want to add another map, Oosterbeek.
  16. @Vacillator Kinda sorta until you have two sides attacking each other from two maps at the same time. The desired result would be to have a battle in the center of those two maps, or even better, both combined. This is one small problem to hosting an operational level game. Not sure how to solve this one yet
  17. Click his forum name, then click "Message" on the following page.
  18. Thanks, I'll give it a try. Knowing your style this will be a smaller one. I've been playing SPMBT lately myself, the game has too much quality content to be left alone. It's just hard relearning a full keyboard worth of commands, and I'm sure vassal can be similar at times with all the different modules. I was actually looking into vassal so I could form a game on my stalingrad mockup map, but I was unsure if I was putting chits in correctly. Do you have experience creating modules by any chance?
  19. Falklands had 1 month? Of boots on the ground with a few thousand casualties between both sides. Ukraine has had 6 months and around a hundred thousand casualties.
  20. If it's vog-30 wouldnt there be a minimum arming distance?
  21. Yeah man there are a lot of options nowadays. Instant topograph mapping? Oh man I hope that's accessible stuff.
  22. Good for you, I can't remember the last time I read you were involved in a pbem. Maybe single player games are perfect for you considering your consistent trouble with socializing. Very niche single player games exist, sure. But that's a small fraction of the market. I'm talking games that profit and are talked about. CM is on the cusp of this, and if they had a good multiplayer solution then I can see this game booming way past where we currently are.
  23. Also the green troops are good, but they are still too good in urban combat. If you mix Conscript with Extreme and +2, they should perform very similarly to regular troops, although more easily suppressed under fire, and far less accurate. Conscripts can perform cqb in individual houses if they are large enough. It's so rewarding, especially in pbem. I will have more clips coming since I have at least 3 conscript games currently
  24. The conscripts definitely like to hit the deck and start navigating the floor quite a bit more than other troops, and it ultimately does lead to higher survivability. It seems this doesn't only go for rifle fire, but for explosives as well.
