  1. This is from the ordnance manual - 100 feet of the gun and the balls fan out into a cone . shaped pattern with a velocity almost equal to the muzzle velocity of the projectile which is about 1,276 feet per second The penetration of wood, earth, or brick by the balls is very slight . The maximum effective range of canister against personnel is 75 yards . also says - The canister is used in tank weapons to discourage personnel from approaching the tank In game I would say if a gunner sees someone in the window of stone or brick house why not use it?
  2. For some reason on quick battles the german flak trucks keep appearing even on random more than any other vehicle. I understand how the point system works and why that is since I am playing on a small map it's a small point object BUT DAMN! I almost never see german gun half tracks or pumas since upgrading to the market garden and commonwealth module even in France.
  3. How about one like this Clouds select Random/Clear/Light/Moderate/Heavy Precipitation select Random/none/light/medium/heavy Wind select Random/none/light/moderate/heavy Temperature (being end of 1944 early 1945) select Random/Mild/cool/cold/very cold/extremely cold Others? Dewpoint/Windchill etc
  4. The cannister shot goes through the window and ricochets everywhere inside buildings very deadly.
  5. If unbuttoned binoculars did wonders. If buttoned as long as they had periscopes on a swivel and magnifying gunner lenses no tank was really blind, except for night maybe. Germans had binoculars by carl zeiss still making them to this day.
  6. Well it could take most of the German tanks at that time when the sherman came out. Then the high velocity 75 on the German stuff changed that for sure
  7. I have never ever seen this one one youtube, it says it was added this fall of 2016. I'm flabbergasted how fast the sherman is on a road and the guy is not even bouncing.
  8. I think mostly the crew could escape from an engine or gas fire or am I wrong? They must have had special fire extinguishers on board for gas fires? Escape hatch on bottom of shermans helped any? They would certainly not escape a hit to the stowage if that ever went up.
  9. So in your mod for the month September it changes to this? Does the region start changing faster maybe august because of the longitude? Would be cool if the game did this.
  10. HE yeah, maybe to knock a track off. Wouldn't touch ammo stowage for a cook off.
  11. Nope, German AT grenades were not heavily used in the west, they stopped making them before the allies landed in favor of the panzerfaust and kept the remaining stockpiles on the eastern front. . The soviets encountered more of these German AT grenades from German occupied trenches and holes on the push westward across the large open fields, west front allies encountered minuscule to none. Might be lighter but grenade use against a tank is more dangerous and harder to hit than a launched weapon, the faustpatrone is the lightest and could be carried by an mg crew assistant. The grenade bundle (geballte Ladung) would only knock off tracks or immobile a tank if it landed on top of the engine, after all it is just HE. To do that the soldier would have to be right near a tank with no troop support. The allies learned quickly to protect their tanks with troops as they didn't in the beginning.
  12. Germans had way more types of AT grenades and thrown devices on the eastern front than western. On the western most likely a faust or panzershrek if it was from an mg team.
  13. imagine trying to hit a stug above you after it just arrived on a crest of a hill, very little area to hit on the stug because of it's low flat profile
  14. what's hard to believe maybe the crew had a faust?
  15. To original poster. You are thinking about shrapnel but blast concussions can kill as well.
  16. So you are saying I need to buy the vehicle pack to use the m8 and priest in the games QB, when the vehicle pack has nothing to do with those 2 vehicles? That's LUDICROUS if true.
  17. Bullpoint, That's because no one knew what was crashing the quick battles. Not enough enough people were doing tests. I was the first to find they were missing and I believe it was calling those missing vehicles such as priest and the m8 scott in the qb allied randomization which were not there causing the quick battle to hard crash to desktop. I could be entirely wrong and something else was/is causing the QB to crash and possible even another version like 3.11 or before that, but this is all what I have concluded with my many hours of studying the issue. Also I do not have access to the older versions to see at which version the trouble started.
  18. stating the obvious. We have already determined there was a mistake. QBs if the best part of the game for me and one of the best things about CMBN.
  19. It hasn't been a year yet. Hopefully they have it logged at least.
  20. bullet bf is aware of it as far as I know it is related to the quick battle crashes,
  21. No priest or m8 in mine and many others. Hmm you seem to have cropped yours for some reason as well. right click and view image to see clearer or download.
  22. the priest and m8 scott is missing from quick battles no way to get them until bf fixes. Evey one that thinks different is lying to ya.
