The whole communiction from the side of BF is a joke. People can defend it as much as they like, but their PR is not only very bad, it is almost non-existent. I don't buy nonsense like 'they must concentrate on their work', 'new information will only bring discussion and questions' and 'you can tell them how to do things once you have your own company'.
Reading this forum IS like being stuck in a time-loop and the lack of information IS causing speculation.

Nah, I am just trying to cut to the point. People make speculations, and the old guard here comes racing to the defense of Battlefront. Reading this forum is like being stuck in a time-loop.
The only point worth mentioning is that 4.0 has been out for 14 months and a fix to a problem it caused has not yet arrived.

So why are people complaining about it?

If more people had a sense of entitlement towards getting what they paid for without defects the world would be a better place. I paid for the 4.0 upgrade and the software it was made for, so yeah I feel entitled to a corrected version. We aren't talking about new content here, we are talking about a defect in something that has already been sold.
 
Ha. If that's the way you want to interpret it. I think your argument would have a little more validity if I had spiced it up a bit, maybe thrown in a "sad and pathetic" in there. 
 
I would say no, or at least I didn't feel insulted. It was pretty clear that you didn't understand my meaning at the time but that's your problem.
 
If you were working on a project for me and you told me that it would take you a day of research and consideration before giving me a quick update on your progress I would fire you without a moment of hesitation. I've removed people from one of my teams for less.

No one said they haven't done anything in 14 months. The issue at hand is that the patch has not yet been completed.

This is what I tell the pizza delivery guy all the time. He is a parasite because he didn't cook the bloody pizza, he just facilitated it ending up in my hands, in exchange for my money. I really hate that guy, thinking that he is offering a service and getting paid for it.
 
 
 
The game isn't expensive though. $60 isn't real money anymore.

Funding this to 100% and having nothing will result in the same thing, except in the first case the community would be out $32k and there would be bad blood between some members.
 
   
Have they come up with a basic design? They didn't show it to anyone publicly. They had a big list of features they wanted, and a couple of map images. I didn't see even a mockup of what the game would look like though. No UI design, just a mention of PC/Mac/Mobile. No indication that they have any idea how difficult it would be to reconcile PC/mobile conceptually, let alone technically. Multiplayer mentions 16 players. How do they propose to do that? Are they going to have a central server for people to connect to? Will it be the largest PBEM hot potato in history?
 
No, this needs more time to develop, an actual design plan, a prototype, and probably a more realistic look at a beginning feature set. You can't be the Star Citizen of Operational Wargames on a $32k budget.

It's perfectly legitimate for someone to point out that you are literally insane to contest an argument of yours.

Indeed, am explicitly forbidden to go. I shall be fascinated to see whether you next argue that the military-intelligence community of this country is composed of incompetent dolts who don't know enough to screen against some nut job! You should consider changing your communications pattern if you don't want to be identified so quickly.

It wasn't until recently that you could disable just the game music, and not all sound. You can just forget about a volume setting.

I suspect that Windows 10 free upgrade is going to be a joy for many small DRM-laden shops.

I prefer this one.
