The third place should have been your... Ok, i didn't played this scenario before, and in the first turns I was massacred by Russian Tanks and IFV... Then maybe you took too many risks (but with this broken scoring system what else to have bit of fun ?) and my last Tank survived, immobilized, to multiple shots, evend destroying a Russian tank and some IFVs. Sorry for my slow turn rate about 10 days ago... unfortunately I had some health problems that made me very difficult to send my turns back.

Sent back another turn... i hope i did it right, because time left (me as Russian player) reported 1 min left when i pressed the red button... in the other battle it reported 2 min left, so i didn't notice immediately... It is a bit confusing if we must stop when it is 1 min left or zero min left... anyway, thanks for the great battle... that was a massacre... with Russian you almost succeded in the first sudden attack... i didn't expect an attack so early... my attack with Russians was decimated by your airplanes (i remember 4 to 6 IFV or Tanks destroyed), even if i think i killed 4 Abrams and the 2 TOWs vehicles... but i forgot there was a 5th Abrams tank

There may be a bug that crops up when a bridge is at a certain alignment to the map.  But... as I posted elsewhere, it is important to first have the vehicle rolling at the exact same axis as the bridge.  That may require two waypoints before the bridge so that the vehicle is perfectly aligned.  On longer bridges I also recommend waypoints on the bridge itself.  In doing so I find vehicles getting stuck on bridges to be very rare.

We were unfortunate in this battle... Anyway it was fun, to this point we arrived... I also don't like the mirror system for the reason explained before, and also for the lack of surprise about enemy force composition.. I think future tournaments should consider the possibility to play maybe an attck map with US, an attack map with Soviets and a meeting engagement with random side. That would surely be better, unless there is the possibility to select force composition at start.

Might be a long shot but I’d try contacting Matrix support. Maybe you have two accounts interfering with sending / receiving. I had this problem awhile back in test tourney and they fixed it for me. I didn’t even know had a second account.

My oppo is MIA as well. Does Matrix moderate the tournament at all? Remind players to keep the turn pace? I think players who sign up for tournaments and not keep their commitment (unless valid reason) should get some kind of warning. Three warnings and you can't sign up for tournaments for six months or so. I hate being left hanging. Waste of time of getting involved in the battles.

jackal263 reacted to A Canadian Cat in A Complete List of Combat Mission Scenarios - re-announce
I am re-announcing the complete list of Combat Mission Scenarios web site here since the original announcement was made before the General Forum existed.
    Check it out here: http://www.combatmission.lesliesoftware.com/index.html
    What this site is
It is supposed to be a search-able sort-able list of all scenarios for CombatMission games. It combines a list of all stock scenarios and all downloadable scenarios from the old repository, the new scenario depot with information from play result information from theBlitz.
    What this site is not
It is not a source for uploading or downloading scenarios.  This site does not host anything it only provides links to where the files are hosted.
I have updated all the games and added Shock Force.
The Shock Force edition is not complete yet. As the original announcement states the site is created using @Mad Mike's awesome ScAnCaDe Tool. Since that tool only works with Shock Force version 2 only the stock games are listed on the site right now. Along with a few new ones from the Scenario Depot. My plan is to include the older scenarios as well but to so that I need to convert them to v2 scenarios so the tool can then process them. I have been working on that but have lots left to do. In addition there are still a few items that are listed as only available on the old repository - I still own @Bootie a list of files that are missing on the Scenario Depot.
    Read the original announcement here:

jackal263 reacted to Mord in Mord's Mods (Special Announcement)
For nigh on ten years now my biggest projects have always been my portrait mods. I have invested weeks and months on end, that have added up to hundreds and hundreds of hours of time and frustration creating them. I have made easily over ten thousand portraits, through trial and error, redesign, and updates. It's been a true struggle at times, and I am never happy with the outcome, though I'll say I am, once a project is complete. But I am always fighting the design decisions I started with way back in SF1 and it's hamstrung me artistically. After the FB portraits I decided I wanted to redo all the portraits for all the titles (the BN mod is long over do for an update) . So, after a long hiatus, I set about trying to get to someplace that would finally make me happy. I decided to start with RT to get ahead of the module release, and after a week or so of fiddling, resizing, making test bmps, and checking in game, this is what I came up with.

For about two seconds I thought they looked good. But once again I was confronted by the poor design decisions I adopted all those years ago. You see, I have been in a constant fight with what I term the "bobble head effect", which causes the portrait heads to appear bulbous and fat-headed. It occurs because I opted to show each portrait with a split face on the bmp. It has been my bane since my BN mod and it frustrates me to no end. And considering how I built each face from screenshots, pieces of faces from all sorts of pictures, and the fact I only worked on the left side of the face, well it doesn't leave me room for presenting them in any other way. And On top of all that, I have always felt there was inconsistency in the quality of the faces, and that they appeared too cartoony.  So with that said, I am putting these portrait mods to rest. I have taken them as far as they will go and they have reached a dead end. They had a good run but there really isn't anything more I can do to improve them.

Now, check out what I have been doing for the last two weeks and tell me I didn't make the right decision...

Now for some comparisons of the old style and the new.

Now the portraits in the context of their own mod. It'll give you an idea of the overall design.

And within the context of the game UI.

Some of the portraits are tentative/place holders until I find something that really blows me away. Or will be replaced later. The Heer Armor and Armor Infantry come to mind as far as that goes. Luckily I haven't made anything yet with them, just tests.
Now, unfortunately I will probably have to share a lot of the portraits (mostly Germans) across games, however backgrounds and the like will be changed for each setting.  And I will of course do all the battalions and regiments etc. Whether or not I will be able to keep the quality across titles remains to be seen but I will do my best. It is going to be a colossal amount of work, already has been. For the Germans alone I have created and discarded over a thousand portraits. LOL. Every time I think I have one down and start producing keepers, I stumble across a better pic, or I adjust some color to better fit the portrait into the overall look and I have to redo a ton of work. I just replaced the Heer Infantry yesterday, now I have to redo 374 that I had already made, as well as the SS Arm Infantry. I have done this a couple times already. But getting it right is what's most important. Perfection is what I am aiming for.
I don't know how long it will take. Getting the right pics is painstaking and laborious as hell. For every good one I make I throw out five. But this style will be the definitive version of my portrait mods from here on out. As I complete them I will remove the old versions from the planet. I'll start threads in the corresponding game forums as I progress.
Welp, that's about it. I was gonna keep all this to myself and wait to surprise everyone, but I have been working in a vacuum for a month and it feels good to talk a little bit about it. Especially as I have been going full bore, night and day for two weeks straight. I Hope you guys like what you see. I think it's the best work I have ever done.

While I have always admired your ability to use western techniques like the recon pull, this illustrates issues that I see a lot of gamers facing when using Eastern Bloc forces.
Attack by echelon is brutal, simple, predictable and effective. I would suggest focusing on a command push, using the forces you have at hand, and using the appropriate doctrine for them. A T-72 is not a worse Leopard, it is a lethal weapons system when used in its intended role.
This post by JasonC in the CMBB forum fundamentally changed how I think about Soviet forces and has made me a much better player at not only CMRT and CMBS but any wargame that puts me in command of units that start with "T" instead of "M".
And from US Field Manual 100-2-1 The Soviet Army: Operations and Tactics.

In summary, use the tactics developed for the equipment you have. By analogy, I often see players in CMFI complain about Italian forces. While there are obviously shortcomings with the equipment and organization of the Italian Army in the Second World War, many of the complaints stem from trying to accomplish missions using doctrine tailored for other forces.
Take for instance the Infantry Battalion: The Italians do not have MG focused squads like the Germans, and do not break down into small 4 man teams like the Germans and Western Allies. This breaks down the fire-and-movement tactics at the squad and platoon level players are used to. Instead, the Italian Army has an exception light mortar in large numbers that provides the base of fire for platoon attacks and medium mortars and heavy machine guns used to support the company and battalion attack.
The Syrian Army will always lose if using tactics developed for NATO forces. As demonstrated in the Golan, and even more-so by the Egyptians in crossing the Suez, Warsaw Pact equipped forces can beat Western forces if used with the appropriate tactics.

Any way we can get some screens of the new Uncons? It's been 50 days since the screen shots in the CMSF2 thread where Steve said they needed to be fixed. MikeyD has since stated they were fixed. It doesn't look like Bil is gonna have any in his AAR thread, so. I am only asking because I know @Sgt.Squarehead is dying to see them. I don't think he should have to suffer any longer than necessary.

Tactical Operations Center has been posted at The Scenario Depot III.  The link is below.  Thank you to all the Beta testers, @Sgt.Squarehead, @Erwin, @rocketman, @sburke, @General Jack Ripper and @Combatintman.   Thanks to everyone else for patiently waiting.

I had some computer problems so in the end mod tags were not used.  However links to the mods are listed with the scenario.  Instead of a PDF document two Word documents are included with the scenario.  The Word documents help explain the intelligence code and the map grid lines.  They are not needed to play the scenario since the same information is in the briefing.  However the Word documents may be downloaded and printed out for players who wish to do so.  Some of the beta testers thought it was helpful having a printed intel. code on hand while playing.
If you have questions ask here or send me a PM.  Hope you enjoy it.  Post cool screenshots!

All my mods related to CMSF will be presented in this topic. I never played that very first CMSF game so for me it will be a new thing. Yet, I'm quite sure that this game will be wonderful.
