  1. @StefanKollers Kind of depends on the situation. In urban terrain I would almost always split them. In more open terrain maybe not. From my notes: Soviet squads don't often have Assistant leaders, so splitting will pretty much always drop one teams Leadership rating, as well as imposing the "rule-based" penalty for operating counter to doctrine. Engine manual 4.0 page 61: Syrian, Soviet & Italian Armies will suffer a morale penalty if split teams are out of close visual and voice C2 of the Platoon HQ.
  2. +1 @37mm Cool. I especially like the weapon sounds etc. Cliff hanger with the vehicle showing up at the very end.
  3. +1 That's right. I forgot about this. I just double checked and this worked. It is also much simpler.
  4. It would work either way. I like to put a Z sub folder inside the mods folder. I also place a tagged sub folder inside the Mod folder for tagged mods. So for organizational reasons (and dealing with tags) I would make the Z folder a sub folder inside the Mod folder. Then you can also put a ZZ folder inside the mods folder for when you are testing a new mod.
  5. Nope, no IEDs in any titles except CMSF and CMA. My friend @Sgt.Squarehead just ninja'd me as I typed. IIRC artillery of 150mm or larger may bring down a bridge. Damage to a bridge is cumulative over time. I once had a knocked out tank burning under a bridge. When the ammo cooked off in the tank it brought the bridge down. But yes it would be cool if it was possible to intentionally demo bridges in all the titles.
  6. As others have said Alt + J. A useful tool I sometimes forget about is the HOTKEYS button. If you click on menu, in the User Interface (UI), on the bottom right of the screen additional buttons will appear. The bottom left button is labeled Hotkeys. The Hotkey button will bring up a list of all kinds of useful key board commands and mouse controls.
  7. An IED on a bridge can be used to simulate a demo charged rigged bridge in CMSF2.
  8. I think there are several things that can be done to accomplish what you want as far as scoring goes. If I'm understanding this correctly I don't think the solution has to be very complicated (admittedly maybe I'm not fully understanding). The Germans, of course, get points for taking terrain objectives and destroying para units. The objective of the paras is to destroy German units so the German units are destroy unit objectives for the paras. A human player can exit his paras very early in the scenario if he chooses however he would get a defeat (level of defeat decided by you) since he did not stay long enough to destroy enough German units. Some German units can arrive as reinforcements later in the scenario and be worth more points than the German units that started on the map. The paras will want/need to stay around and inflict as many casualties as possible before they exit. Also, a question. Is the scenario intended to be player vs player or player vs AI or both?
  9. Thank you. Yep, voices which is just time consuming but not show stopper.
  10. Interesting stuff. A crop field this year may be a field for livestock next year. Just having a fence around it gives the ability to put livestock in the field to clean up after a harvest and fertilize the field. Especially back in the WW2 time frame when there was less chemicals and more field rotation. In modern times with more mono agriculture and chemicals the fences are not as useful. They cost time and money to maintain and get in the way when trying to turn big machinery (combines, tractors, etc.) around to go back the other direction in the field. You should plow parallel in most cases for erosion control and that is how it is generally done today. However that may be a modern thing. I'm not sure how widely known and practiced that was in the WW2 time frame. I remember my Dad telling stories about plowing with horses going up and down all the d@#n hills . Interesting map stuff. Thanks for taking the time to post.
  11. Don't know if you have CMSF2 or any interest in the modern titles. CMSF2 has Fighter and Combatant triggermen that are single man teams and have grenades. These single man teams can be purchased as such and added to a command structure. The unconventional fighter and combatant groups have the option of a one man HQ (1, 2 or 3 man HQ is the option at the bottom of the editor screen). So if you wanted you could have all one man teams in the TOE to include the HQ organized under a fighter or combatant group for C2 / TOE purposes. Then you could still use vehicle drivers that also have grenades (often only one grenade per driver). Next with mods and weapon swaps you can give your single man units a customized look. Below are some screenshots from the WIP scenario Shift Commander which features many single man units. The first two screenshots are before and after mods. And a modified taxi fighter driver.
  12. A few more screenshots. A view from the command chopper.
  13. Some screenshots from a southeast Asia mod made by @37mm on a map made by @Sgt.Squarehead. Pretty cool. Especially when the Alexa app is playing Fortunate Son by Creedence Clearwater and the sound of choppers can be heard in game. Note the sloped roof of the hut in the background.
  14. A Southeast Asia type mod created by @37mm. On a map created by @Sgt.Squarehead. Pretty cool.
  15. Hey, Ghost. I was able to upload the scenario Coup D'etat just a few months ago to the Scenario Depot 3. So it can work. But I'm unsure where you are trying to upload to. Up above you mention the Proving Grounds 2 and the Scenario Depot. I was able to upload in the Scenario Depot 3. Just want to make sure we're talking about the same place. Also I had in some additional notes that the Scenario Depot 3 did not seem to accept files from Dropbox. When I tried moving files from Dropbox into the Media part of SD3 I think I got the same error message as you show up above. It worked when I dragged and dropped the zipped file from my desktop to the SD3. Below are some of the notes I took when I uploaded the scenario to the Scenario Depot 3. (So if you are actually trying for the Proving Grounds 2 it might work a little different) There is more than one way to get it done. Below is just the way I went about it through trial and error. These first 7 steps, especially #5 and #6, might be relevant. 1) Go to the Scenario Depot 3. 2) Click on Upload Scenario. (Located near the top of the page in the blue ribbon) Note: The site displayed: WP-Filebase Pro requires a license key. I ignored this. Note: Click on “Save Draft” (top right) to save your work occasionally. The right column has two headings at the top: Document and Block. Select Block. 3) Add Title – Click on Add Title (top center) and enter the title of the scenario. 4) Click directly below the block that contains the title. Type (or paste) the narrative. 5) Click Media and Add New (left column). 6) Drag & drop the scenario file, Word document briefing file & any Mod files. 7) Click Posts (above media) and return to the Posts page. Hope that helps.
  16. Welcome to the forum @jalapen0. This is a good place to come with questions. Use of this forum will greatly speed up your understanding and enjoyment of the game. Just curious, what skill level are you playing the game on? (Basic training, Veteran, Warrior, Elite or Iron)
