  1. What the hell do you have in your Z folder?
  2. Well, it wasnt me who initially said CMx1 had no set up time. Besides that, if you (again) had read and understood what i wrote, you had noted that i was not solely refereing to the 88 and that i admitted beeing incorrect about the 88s specific case of beeing moveable or not. But obviously reading and understanding a text is none of your strenghts. No it is not. There was a statement that said that removing the deploy command completely would probably make it necessary to remove the deploy times as well, and i made short response to that, stating that if removing the deploy command would mean that the deploy times had to be removed as well, this would decrease the realism of the game. You started the discussion and put words in my mouth that i had never said that way. But i agree with you, we are getting away from initial topic. Lets leave it at this point.
  3. Watering a bush right in front of a propaganda poster? Not a good idea!
  4. I never said that anybody would want that, i was just talking about the hypothetical case mentioned by Vanir Ausf. B and expressing why i would not want that. I thought that was obvious. Never played CMx1. But if you include indirect fire as threat you run away from after firing a few shots with an AT gun, you could sort of "shoot and scoot" with heavy weapons if there was no deploy time. Although i ve rarely used AT guns in CMBN if they werent included in the preset scenario OOB, i can recall several occasions where i lost a gun due to mortar fire i couldnt run away from in time due to the guns long undeploy time.
  5. I just finished watching the first part of Unsere Mütter, unsere Väter and i have to say it is not only bad. If you just watch it as war movie, it is okay - actually i enjoyed watching it and i want know how it continues in parts 2 & 3. But something that bugs is for example that it is to easy to distinguish between right and wrong, the "good" and the "bad" guys. Also some of dialogues appear so, you know, obvious and appear "enforced" to match nazi cliches. IMO that kinda makes everything apear somhow artificial. How could i forget Das Boot! Saw it in 2008. Another very interesting movie about the the Second World War that just came to my mind is Aus einem deutschen Leben, a biography of Rudolf Höß, commander of Ausschwitz.
  6. Vanif Ausf. B said if the deploy command was completely removed, this would likely have to go hand in hand with the removal of the deployment times in order to not cause more problems then solving. I responded to that post (wich i quoted). Next time read my full post. Does that error in the detail make my general statement about the other heavy weapons with long deploy times untrue? It doesnt. To be honest i had never moved an 88mm in CMBN, except for the vehicle mounted tank guns. Fact is: the deploy time of a weapon is something you currently have to considerate when thinking up CMBN tactics and removing it would IMO change the way the game plays very much away from a realistic experience.
  7. I am just watching it and unfortunately i have to agree with you. The first 3 seconds (winter battle) really did look very promising, though. I am gonna watch it till the end anyways. Cant we make this a thread about good movies about the war from the german perspective? There are really few of them(or at least few of wich i know). I know three: Stalingrad Der Untergang (Downfall) Die Brücke
  8. Ha, i would hate that.. The deployment times of some of the larger weapons are a a serious tactical consideration. If they were removed, you could just roll an 88s mm flak or a Pak 43 gun up a hill, fire, and back up. Shoot and scoot with such a huge weapon, really?
  9. I was in London in 2011. They cost the equivalent of up to 10€ per pack , i get 2 and a half packs in Austra for that price, 3-4 in Slowakia and 10 in Russia.
  10. That thread you posted is full of great ww2 pics, JK, especially the colored ones. I didnt know they had such high quality cameras back then.
  11. I d love to have the ability to toggle my units military symbols on the tactical map. That would be a great addittion.
  12. My reloading animation does not have a shell, btw. I am pretty sure this is a bug because IIRC i have seen screenshots and videos where the guys reloading the AT guns do have shells in their hands. Can provide screenshots if necessary.
  13. An improvised rocket propelled grenade? I doubt that the FSA would be able to manufacture one. It also doesnt look like a dud RPG round, maybe its just some piece of metal that flys away?
  14. +1, i think i would like that too. I very much enjoyed the early war campaigns/scenarios in Theatre of War. Talking about unrealistic expectations, a Cold War becomes Hot game would also be interesting, or wouldnt it?
  15. +1. It always bothered me in CMSF when i accidentially handed out 2000 rounds of 7,62 to my soldiers but wanted to give them 5,56 instead and found myself unable to to correct that. But i think there should be some sort of limit so players cant move equipment around among their troops completely free and for example create a 13 men Javelin squad that way. It would be best IMO if you could just put the stuff you acquired from a vehicle back into it.
  16. Description as found at liveleak: "FSA film two SAA T-72 tanks in action - I see 3 rpg hits on first tank: 0:32, 1:50, 4:46. Engine and hydraulic failure - second tank tows it back, and continues firing. Another close call at 6:10 on first tank. Note no reactive armor upgrade on these T-72. Excellent footage." http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=c56_1363981215
  17. You can give the player "spot" objectives. Later iterations of CMx2 (and probably CMSF2 will) also have "exit" objectives, so recon and transport missions can be done. Actually IIRC CMA has several transport missions where you are to move a couple of trucks from one end of the map to the other while keeping them alive.
  18. Hmm. I think that if one would know the exact RGB value the game uses for the covered arcs i would maybe be possible to generate a trainer with CE 6.2 that changes the color and maybe also the transparency.
  19. I would like the ability to toggle wether CAs are displayed or not. That would be a simple and effective solution IMO. Also maybe the color and transparency of CAs can simple be modded like the rest of the GUI. I mean, if tracers and explosions can be modded, why not CAs? If i will find the time i will maybe see later today if i can do that.
  20. The Jihadists are already having that bad-guys image so if they act "bloodthirsty", if you will, that is just what people expect. "Your guys" on the other hand are supposed to behave like the good guys, so cheering about a kill (wich can be interpreted as expressing enjoyment about the loss of human live) may be offensive to some.
  21. Asymetrical warfare in Syria, seen from Al-Nusrahs perspective: http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=a24_1359578798 The 1080 HD video documents: 1) target reconnaissance (SAA Base) 2) assembly of a vehicle born IED 3) "mission briefing" (or possibly just propaganda. i dont speak arab, cant tell) 4) execution of the operation (3 different cameras) EDIT: Non-HD version for those of you with slow internet connections: http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=b38_1357593611
  22. Not as bad as audible explosions in space, though. +1 LOL now that is something i am surely gonna try the next time i play a CMx2 game. Currently Major Hs TacOps occupys kinda lot of my gaming time.
