I'm extremely fond of the quick battle maps included with CMBN. There are over 700! While I realize that no doubt this wasn't the case in the beginning and that modules have added more, I was surprised to see CMRT only have about 70? I wondered if something went amiss with my installation. If that is indeed all that is included, I wondered if there are any maps or map packs that members made that you folks could recommend from the Repository?

I have Battle Academy 1 and the assorted campaigns and maps for it, all on my iPad. I like the game, it's simple, but not lacking in tactical detail. It won't have the detailed modelling that CM does, but I think that's not a fair comparison. BA is more like a fairly quick paced turn based board game like Panzer Leader, CM is more detailed but slower to play. Both have their advantages.

Had a fun game with a friend. I put my two tanks, both Panthers, to a lot of use. Without them I'd have lost for sure. One of them came out of the battle with the paint still factory fresh. This one on the other hand was pounded by everything up to 105mm howitzers in direct fire mode. I made a couple of graphics to show my friend the punishment this one absorbed. The in-game Hit Text was on so I saw on more than one occasion "Penetration" which always scared the heck out of me as I expected to lose the tank. I also saw more than once "Armor Spalling." I was surprised only a full penetration killed a crewman. What an interesting experience.

Hahaha thanks, BLSTK. The variety CMBN and CMRT give me for kit and nation became irresistible.

I just bought CMRT yesterday. This is a scene from the first game I've played in it. Watching the replay and seeing the men going up that slope felt very...authentic and moving for some reason.

Welcome to the forum and to Combat Mission. I started with Normandy in 2012 and watched the game evolve. It was good when I bought it and has improved in subtle but important increments. If you like WWII I doubt you'll be disappointed. If you find it difficult to get used to (not saying you will, but if you do), be patient. Play more, use the quick battles to experiment with small forces and see how things work. Don't be shy to ask questions here. The community is quite helpful.

I was surprised the RPG even fired. Even more that it hit the target. Yet more again that it killed the Bradley. It took a few viewings to see that it hit before the T90's shot. Was really interesting to watch. Lessee...so that means I got one of you units finally in the last 7 minutes of the game! LOL well done!

No there are many GIs still in the area, but as you will see Willy is not the only one shooting at them there. Just trying to focus on one bit at a time or it will get terribly disjointed.

Don't worry, Kohl hasn't exhausted his bag of tricks!
