I think it was discussed quite some time ago so who knows if it has been revised but I was under the impression there would be a Commonwealth module to cover the existing October 1944 - January 1945 timeframe (Scheldt campaign, Antwerp etc), and then followed by a second module that would cover the final months of the war between February to May from all sides. (Crossing of the Rhine etc).

Commonwealth forces are pretty much a given for CMFB. I think the British and the Commonwealth contributed to ending the war.... at least that's what my Opa told me!

I can only speak to Afghanistan, but much more time was spent hunkered down because of mortar fire or pot shots disrupting a patrol than pitched battles with the Taliban. In my own experience it was less pinned-down hugging the earth for dear life (most of the time!) and more that, okay we now have to deploy, find cover, form into a section attack and so on. That kind of suppression is modeled pretty well in CM, as you can't carry out a routine move under fire.

e: Quick question since a dev has responded - in CM1, how did Human Wave, Assault and Advance work?  Did units move differently under fire before?

It's on my reading list. For too much of the Canadian public our military history consists of only Vimy and Juno Beach. I think it's important to remember the Scheldt campaign as that fighting was at least as tough as Normandy if not moreso.

I’d be happy to have expanded Italians (flesh out the Sicily ToE, Co-Belligerent, Fascists, Partisans) and Operation Dragoon follow Rome to Victory in CMFI.
Of course since Canadians went from Italy to North-West Europe for the end of the war there’s no secret for what I want to see in CMFB...

Matrix has a huge success on their hands with TOAW IV right now, and you’ll notice they have hardly any Pacific scenarios. The market just doesn’t seem to be there, and I say that as someone who appeciates the CBI theatre.

As an aside, I like to take Regiment-Battalion scale scenarios and recreate some of the more interesting battles in CM or Steel Panthers WW2/MBT. I hope I’m not the only one!

    Seconded.
The fighting in the polder country was truly terrifying, scenarios set in that environment would be utterly brutal.....Your ancestors must have been gutsy guys.

My Grandfather and Great Uncle fought in the Scheldt, it would be really fantastic to see the Brits and Canadians all the way through VE Day.
Comedy Answer - Monty famously claimed that he saved the Americans at the Bulge, I'm sure our American friends would like to be able to play a campaign detailing how that happened.

You are correct with one small but impotant factor. The leaves. This is where I think that occasional unbelievable spot factor comes in is the visual representation is not 100% and occasionally allows for some observations that don’t seem plausible. Are they an absolute regular occurrence, no.

Spotting in forests is tricky because iirc line of sight is 1-to-1 instead of an abstraction as in the previous engine. As in, trees actually exist as more than just a tree tile on the map. I could be wrong though.

Speaking as an artilleryman, games overemphasize small arms.  In the 20th century crew-served weapons accounted for 90% of casualties.
CM gets this right. Machine guns, mortars and artillery are the big killers.

I wish I could remember the illustration from artillery school, but if you can imagine two cones starting at the fuse and base of the shell, those have dramatically fewer fragments.

Just musing but does that mean recce has to be integrated vertically? That is to say, organic recce teams will always be better than specialized recce from one of the recce formations?
I.E is it better to have three grunts and a pair of binoculars than a squadron of armoured cars with radios, as far as Battalion HQ is concerned?

I'm running CMSF bundle on a 2010 Mac Pro. I've not experienced this "dreaded" 36% lock up on any of the modules (now watch me have one tonight). I also have CMSF and Marines on boot camp and have never had the issue on that either (Mac Pro and MacBook Pro). I did upgrade to at least 8 GB of RAM on both.
