Dead Cells, Terraria, Undertale, Unturned, Stardew Valley, Stanley Parable, Player Unknowns Battle Grounds (Which is pretty crap but successful nonetheless), Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight, Insurgency, Guns of Icarus (Pretty old now with a dwindling playerbase but it was great back in the day), Don't Starve, FTL: Faster then light, Door Kickers, Cold Waters, Atlantic Fleet, Mount and Blade Series.
All of those games are just from my Steam, and I do think countless is a good word for what I was talking about. All of these games were extremely popular due to the exposure/availability they have on Steam, if you asked them what the primary cause of there success was it would probably be that there game was fun to play in the first place and Steam allowed them to promote/sell it. Especially games like Cold Waters which is a niche submarine combat game benefited from the exposure it got on Steam, people who have never played sub games gave it a shot and liked it and it was financially beneficial to the guys who made it. You can tell because they released free updated for a year and an entire new campaign in the South China Sea with new units and the like.
I'm well aware there's plenty of crap on Steam and they do a god awful job of managing all of it but the fact of the matter is that Steam helps way more then it hurts in a lot of cases. The phobia of Steam on this website is frankly hilarious and the world zips on by as all of you laugh into the wind at a service that millions of people benefit from and enjoy.
We're way off topic now, I hope the OP actually got what he wanted from this thread even after it was derailed right off the bat by a useless, toxic comment.

Thats great, he wants to add people on Steam as friends so they can communicate together. Your post contributes nothing to the topic.
They're have been countless success stories of indie games succeeding spectacularly on Steam so I would do some research.

Well it's now Friday September 21st.  74 years on the forth day of Operation Market-Garden.  The Allied only serious defeat of the war.  Just thought I would mention that.  Anyway September is almost over and still no demo to keep us occupied.  What's up with that.

    Are you serious?
We need to produce well armored slow moving "bulldozers" to deliver explosives on defensive positions instead of tanks that can move quickly and shoot?
Somehow this armored "bull dozer" will also remove the need for GPS guided air dropped munitions?
I honestly have no idea what the heck you are talking about. If you can't see the tactical value of being able to drop a bomb that can land within 1-2 meters of a target from 36,000 feet at 520mph then i'm afraid you need to read up on modern warfare.

Steam is the reason why PC gaming has lived as long as it has. It is THE digital distribution platform for PC for which all others strive to be.

It has done so well that Valve doesn't need to produce games anymore. Valve's bread and butter, Half-Life, has been all but tossed to the wayside because they don't need it to survive anymore. In the age of the $60USD AAA console game title Steam is the reigns king by providing it's users with a plethora of indy and AAA title games.
I will support small developers that release solid games like our beloved Battlefront, but there is a reason why Steam is one of the first programs installed on my PC on a new build or re-install.

You're right it is expensive to drop sophisticated weapons on uncons. However if the balloon goes up you won't be degrading Chinas IADS in the pacific with "armored tractors", so yes the F-35 is incredibly expensive but worth it for what it needs to do.
This argument is incredibly silly, if you can't tell whats wrong with making an "armored tractor" that shoots a demo charge "a few dozen meters away" over a freaking main battle tank I don't think we are going to go anywhere. Have you played CM? Would you like trying to fight against the Germans with a 105 sherman that has its range limited to 30 meters?
    Come on man.

Hull-down is an order avilable in the new 4.0 upgrade for all CM2 games. Shoot and scoot can be imperfectly replicated by placing a move order with a pause at the end and a target arc or target point and a reverse order.

Here is an example of something we created with Arma 3.
Every year  for the past 25 years friends come over for a week just to game (called a Loscon!). Using some of the zombie mods and tools people have created for the game, I created a zombie survival mission. It started at night at our "house" (on the island of Altis), and the only weapons we had were whatever guns are at my house. We had up to 8 players participating. We had to get our act together, get down to the county emergency assemble area, then found out that had been over run. Because some of our guys are real life helo pilots, one of them in game knew of a Helo at a distant airfield. But it needed some quick repairs. We had to head down to a work shop near where the National Guard had another assembly area. It was over run too but we were able to get military weapons.  After escaping that desperate situation we headed north to the airfield. Found the helo, repaired it and flew it east to the main airport on the island (It was short of fuel). We then  had to refuel it as more hordes attacked barely making it off the ground and off island. That misision took about 6 hours in real time and we played it from 10pm until 0400.
Every night for three days straight I ran that mission for different people. The mission included features such as : Roving general ambient zombies. Areas where there were zombie spawn points that if you got near them larger groups would appear. The ability to customize you appearance and clothes and equipment. Spawn points that appeared as we progressed across the island so if you dies you could at least be within a mile of the group and we could try and rv with you. The need to drink and eat or lose health and capability. The inability to scavenge houses for food, ammo weapons and equipment.   etc..
That's just one of the many ways we played Arma3. And the zombie mission we ran for three years straight, every year on a new island but picking up with the same characters. This gives you an idea:

I wouldn't use Cooper as a source, hes gotten quite a few things wrong that unfortunately have become "fact" for a lot of people. For example, he says that the Pershing was delayed because Patton said he didn't need it which is blatantly false. I wouldn't trust anything the guy has to say about the Super Pershing because of that.
