I was debating with someone on another forum about the importance of lend-lease to the Soviet Union and I argued that while it certainly helped quite a bit, it was not necessary in there victory. I brought up the multiple mildly successful Soviet counterattacks that occurred during Barbarossa and of course the January offensives that stopped the Germans from getting Moscow. This I said was proof that already without much of the lend lease aid the Soviets were able to hand the Germans serious strategic defeats before lend lease really ramped up. Am I completely wrong? ?

This is a great question (Along with the OP obviously), the Germans were quite fond of the PPsh throughout the war!

I agree judging from that overhead picture you have their, there is going to be a lot of angry Russians coming out of those woods very soon...

Steve has said that there are two main maps, Eastern Europe and Poland. There will be 3 campaigns. 1. Training 2. German campaign which will focus on one of the only successful German counterattacks during Operation Bagration 3. Russian campaign obviously covering a sector of the operation.

I understand what you are saying, but I would still like to see Combat Mission be more "Out there". I think negative publicity is better than no publicity when it pertains to something like this, there will be people who buy this and figure out that they like it even if they didn't think they would. Hell only put up the CMBN or CMFI demo on Steam and see how people react!

Its great CM is getting publicity from major gaming news sites. I really wish it got the attention it deserves from others. Maybe I will write into PC Gamer or something soon and see if they will do a story on it!
