  1. The lack of sales is what stopping me from buying all or most WW2 titles, especially with the current pricing policy. CMSF and CMBS are sufficiently different to warrant a full price, but paying 55 bucks for what is essentially a mission pack to CMBfN with a white ground, with a ton of assets reused - just... NO.
  2. Completely not true. The differences are absolutely major http://community.battlefront.com/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=2921 Page 10 You are welcome And that's far from a complete list, for example it does not mention ERA, which not only makes a random T72 a lot more survivable versus Abrams, but is modeled down to individual pieces being blown off
  3. Have this problem on all ISPs except the one at home. I think Battlefront may have some extremely balls-to-the-wall ip range blocking policy.
  4. Needs a command for M1A2 commander to use stadia rectangle for range finding instead of LRF to not spook enemy tanks. Upside is that no laser = no alarm Downside - alive commander is needed and takes a much longer time as well as results in slightly lowered precision
  5. If it's anything like Steel Beasts Pro 'hull down' command then it can work OK. In that game the AFV would find a hull down position relative to its target or a threat.
  6. Can anyone PM me a link to sharefile of the patch? I have troubles accessing battlefront.com itself
  7. Turret direction does affect spotting, that's why you set target arcs when moving tanks around - so it would make sense if commander has his own LOS too which corresponds to his turret's angle. So a constantly rotating turret may just make commander LOS go wild and useless - especially with commander having superior sights to gunner's on Oplot Plus constantly rotating commander's turret is a bug in itself and has to be addressed in any case. And then we will see if any of the above is true for sure
  8. speaking of LOS. Some more "generic" RTS if you will do it via adding first person camera to eye level of a given unit that is viewed via hotkey or a button. F.e. in Earth 2160 you can switch to unit's eye-level and back to check what it sees (ironically it's not very useful there). I think it's not hard to do codewise and will be incredibly useful in a game like CM for, say, tanks where you will instantly see how many tiles you need to move them back/forth to get into a better position. Right now an insane amount of time is spent using clunky camera controls to check if every vehicle is well hidden/sees well enough and in huge battles it takes so much time it becomes a bit tedious. Whereas a single button that will instantly switch to the "eye camera" (and back) can be a time-saver
  9. It's worth noting that when you eventually get to QB - the way to get an enjoyable experience out of it is 'human' selection of army lists for both you and the enemy. AI is pretty terrible at picking good composition of forces (it always uses the same generic composition that often does not suit the challenge posed by your forces well) and manually selecting a list that counters yours will give AI a fighting chance as well as give you some challenge and thus more fun.
  10. now if only Battlefront added post-processing/shaders to the game itself
  11. Here's a MXAO config for Reshade 3 beta 9 (current) http://pastebin.ca/3723134 After you've installed Reshade 3 for CMBS and created any config for it through in-game interface (shift+f2) just open <yourconfigname>.ini in games folder and replace default [MXAO12b.fx] with the one linked iMXAOSampleCount - lowering this decreases performance hit, but also decreases AO quality. And vice versa fMXAOAmbientOcclusionAmount - increasing this will increase the darkness of the AO shadows
  12. so we would need to purchase an upgrade to be able to purchase an expack - all separately?
  13. It's reshade 3 beta. Turn on MXAO, then tweak samplingdistance to something lower than default (since objects in the game are so small) to avoid stuff like black walls etc and increase sample count for more detail. Additionally turn on indirectlighting for some global illumination like shading. Performance hit is fairly small and unlike reshade 2 no transparent trees issue
  14. I can't speak for americans since I'm neither one, nor is the one, who has compatriots murdered by them, but as a "bystander" I can say for sure that I clearly remember massive anti-war protests right from the start. At least that proves that as people US citizens are a lot more conscious versus russians, who at most are able to gather a hundred, but most of the time it's not even a dozen people, who don't want their country murder people in another country. In other words - a lot of americans were anti-war and thought it to be wrong, while russian anti-war sentiment is so non-existent might as well say they are all in support of the war.
  15. But how long will it take for truly good, honest people to admit they were wrong after facing unquestionable proof all the time? Certainly not 2 and a half years. When russian side's proof from accounts of "eye-witnesses" ranges from questionable to outright ridiculous (crucified boy, su-25 shooting down Boeing at 10km height spotted by a dude on the ground, a crying cow obeying russian language etc - I mean holy crap) or even total slips down to Putin himself saying that Crimea invasion was all russian military right from the start and Girkin says it was russians who invaded Donbas under his command. All the while the other side offers actual videos of russian troops, russian tech, russian armor, russian artillery shooting up Donbas, shows russian active duty soldiers, captains, majors and even a damn GENERAL near Debaltsevo - much of which is either from russian soldiers themselves boasting on social networks about invading Ukraine or straight from slips of russian propaganda because there are so many russian troops infesting the area, even a scripted video made with several takes can't hide the damn fact. How? How can a truly honest, self-conscious person still refuse to believe, especially on a CM Black Sea forum, that T-72B3 is a T-72B3 for 2 years? How can a person who is not lying claim that Russia never invaded Ukraine when on March 1st of 2014 Russian government voted to invade Ukraine with 90 out of 90 votes FOR the invasion? This is way way too optimistic even for a person, who is not on the receiving side of the russian "brotherly love"
  16. And yet they ran out of money for that single damn bridge. It's far from half-way finished, on an indefinite hold and they already spent $4 bln on it. Is probably the reason why "land bridge" is across every propaganda outlet again. GDP and natural resources mean little when all the money belong to chosen few. Just ask chinese bubble.
  17. But how about this, I know it's insane right, but WHAT IF Russia begins the conflict to push its agenda onto a given country, then when it gets what it needs it "stabilizes" the conflict. But keeps its "peacekeepers", who for some reason are there exactly at the same moment the conflict begins and whom nobody ever invited, right there just in case a certain country suddenly will do something too independent. (All while every single russian TV channel spews pure hatred against a country Russia is "keeping the peace" in) No it can't be!
  18. I guess Ukraine took some lessons from that goddamn warmongering Poland clearly outnumbering Germany 10 to 1 sending in saboteurs to attack those peaceful Germans back in '39, how dare they? I got proof right here: See it? Yes it's just a pure coincidence that there's this peaceful country, then when a conflict breaks out russian peacekeepers are suddenly there. At the exact same time the conflict begins. Every time for the past 25 years. Of course none of those are russian made. I mean why would anyone even think that? Geez!
  19. Ugh, official state propaganda is a very good source of said state's goals. You just have to read into it. Quotes used in the book are all like "our soldiers must learn german", "everyone join paratroopers, we got a million of them", "we are going to help proletariat of the western europe" etc. Of course none of it directly says "we are gonna invade Europe next week" but it's made blatantly obvious in every other way. After all why would you need a million paratroopers for a defensive war? It's the same as russkie propaganda of today really. They talk about "Ukraine bad and not-russian-army-peaceful-miner good" but background videos are filled with slips showing russian troops, tanks and artillery attacking Ukraine (since they got no better material). Or how when Russia shot down Boeing at first their propaganda was outright boasting how they shot it down (before they realized what it is they thought it was a transport plane) using "captured" Buk (of which they boasted 3-4 hours prior to the shooting) and then quickly it was a 180 degree turn where every outlet was falling over each other trying to make up ridiculous excuses. Kind of like soviet propaganda pre and after 22 june 41
  20. Have you actually read Suvorov? He uses nothing but quotes from official soviet state media of the time available to everyone to double check. It's not a "theory" - all he does is just puts together a thousand of quotes made by Kremlin itself into a single book.
  21. Thanks to this thread I've started using scouts (from all factions) to their fullest (for the first time since game's release). As opposed to using them mostly as a sniper support up till this point. They indeed appear to be more survivable when spotted and probably better at spotting and save me valuable minutes. All of it is kind of obvious in retrospect - but thanks for so many tips. In fact I was in the middle of a pretty tough mission of Shadow of the Motherland where you have to secure a road through the city - and when I've decided to send scout platoons ahead instead of regular troops - things started moving a lot faster.
  22. Playing a Shadow of the Motherland campaign where there is a ton of BMP2s and some russian tanks and I haven't seen BMP2s use ATGM in 4 missions thus far preferring to fire their cannons at the tanks instead which ends bad...
