  1. This sounds like how I play some other strategy games like Stellaris where I have weaker units on the table but want my fleet cap back so will throw them at the enemy to make some form of dent building and throwing the better units at the same target. Probably not a good strategy for a real life ground war... Yeah you probably don't want me as your 'Benevolent' Space Emperor.
  2. Yeah pretty sure that one was in the Roer River campaign Oct/Nov. There was a unit there that took on US and maybe British forces around Geilenkirchen if IRC. (Don't quote me on that. )
  3. - Ordering my infantry to move into my own artillery barrage / planned air area target zone. This is usually due to coming back to a saved game days later... usually. - Not using my off map support more liberally to pave the way for my advance fearing I'll run out when I need it most. Meanwhile my pixeltruppen are giving me evil eyes as they need to cross open fields in the face of four machine guns.
  4. I think forcing a Human Wave assault in 1945 "for old times sake" leads to predictable results, no matter the commander.
  5. I think us early/mid war fans for CM should start our own fan club. #earlywarorbust
  6. Highly unlikely. BF have always focused on the European theatre for their WW2 titles. I believe this is to do with the game engine's over the years, but also a degree of personal preference amongst BF themselves. There's also a lot of variety in tactical engagements and forces available in Europe relative to the Pacific which would be a highly infantry only affair in many cases.
  7. The spring time period is yet to appear in CMFB as the base game ends in January 1945.
  8. CMFI Base Game is probably the easiest for a newbie given: - Less prevalence of automatic weapons. - More open terrain/longer range engagements. (Put a newbie through Normandy Hedgerow country and they may run away! ) - Less handheld AT weaponry to worry about. Encourage them to inch their way forward in the timeline as the weapons and force composition changes into late war. Learning curve the same has the historical soldiers had to deal with. Unless they are a modern era buff... yeah IMO modern era titles are a horrible introduction for a complete newbie unfamiliar with the CM basics. Faster paced action, crazy spotting abilities relative to WW2, lopsided force compositions (more CMSF2) etc may leave a bad taste for some wargamers.
  9. I've always liked the idea of pixeltruppen picking up enemy small arms but can see why it isn't coded given it could be gamed to the extreme by competitive players. We probably don't want to see players go out of their way playing as the allies but trying t pick up every MG42 they come across. One possible solution would be to restrict the picking up of enemy small arms to when units/pixeltruppen's own organic weapon is extremely low or out of ammunition. Essentially a last resort so they still have a weapon to fire.
  10. I've plotted the 'locations' of all the CMSF scenarios and campaigns onto a map and the NATO progress day by day across Syria, but unsure if I can release it at this stage. (Beta things...) I say 'locations' given quite a number appear to be fictional and then dropped in to a spot on Syria based on wherever it was needed. I know CMBS were a bit more specific on mapping true locations given the editor had the overlay feature by then, but I'm unaware if anyone has plotted the locations of every scenario onto a high res topographic map of Ukraine.
  11. Just be aware than bullets will go through walls if they are of high enough calibre so some of the tracers inside the building may have been from that. Just noticed you are resting with a vehicle so thought I'd mention.
  12. That's a weird one. Good result though.
  13. @Revan - Can you post a screenshot from in game so we can see what it looks like for you? Just some relatively close up shots of some tanks/infantry.
  14. Nope. As per the read me and elsewhere in this thread the interest was only in the WW2 titles. Will be up to someone else to redux all the modern titles. I think there already is a mod or two for the modern era UI. More CMBS and CMSF2 though.
  15. If you have an Nvidia card you may have FXAA on by default. This anti-aliasing method doesn't work with the game and you get distorted text. Just change the settings for the game/application inside the Nvidia control panel and restart the game. Fingers crossed that's it.
  16. With most of the details pretty much locked in I have flagged the possibility of a teaser, however the more time I spend on teasers the less time I spend in the editor. Rest assured the team is busy map making some iconic locations at the moment.
  17. Any chance it's now extracting the Campaign Script, Core Unit Files and Campaign Briefings etc? The .btt file that puts the whole campaign together?
  18. Ahhh now onto battle three. Now comes the fun part. If you like tanks. Yes it is on my list. It was initially meant to be a monster scenario but I feared for people's CPUs and didn't want that to be part of a stock release for BF. I do have a version sitting here incomplete that is the start of a monster version. Potentially for community release one day. Likely only German vs AI or H2H.
  19. Yes. Even if you lose, the influence on mission 2 is present but not over the top.
  20. As the briefing intimates it's not ideal tank country and you have to get unconventional with how you use your armour to help your infantry - which it seems you did so far. I think some players didn't realise they get reinforcements to keep pushing through. Rest assured these forces aren't critical for follow on missions. If I get the chance I may retweak the briefing for this first mission to make it more obvious ahead of the Steam release of CMRT later in the year.
  21. It was in my plans to add mod tags for the units involved in the fighting including the 4ID. Though adding in modded textures is probably a bridge too far, happy to communicate those modtags at time of release so players can mod their own uniforms and markings.
  22. Though I'm project managing this one I'm not BF but that is my understanding. The Pack will be available sometime after the Steam release of CMBN when it is ready via the usual outlets. @BFCElvis may be able to confirm.
