  1. That was always a problem for me in CMSF. Trying to figure out when my barrage would end so I could get my troops moving to follow up quickly before the enemy recovered, without getting my guys hit by a still-falling rounds.
  2. Steve or someone at BFC has said elsewhere that the major work for the Arnhem module was the buildings, terrain and TO&E. Don't forget that American paratroopers will need different uniforms, too. So it's quite possible that British paras could be in the Commonwealth module and there would still be alot of things to go into Market Garden. Bicycles maybe???
  3. Thanks for the explanation, Steve. It takes the edge off. Two questions about the Demo: 1) Where does it fit in that sceme? 2) Do the scenarios have AI plans for both sides so we can switch? I assume not, but one can hope!
  4. Thanks Steve, that does help. I can fire up CMSF or maybe even dig out Brothers in Arm or COD, and just get on with things rather than checking in every hour! But, not being familiar with the prep-for-release jargon, are talking more June-ish than May-ish?
  5. purpheart23, Sopmeone on one of these threads last week mentioned he wanted a little warning before the Game was released so he could plan ahed for a couple of days off from work. Steve from BFC answered that when the Demo is released, we'll have a little time to plan, because the Game would be released very soon after that. But, only BFC really knows.
  6. You're right Leto....no morning coffee yet!
  7. Yeah, I don't know why I let it get to me, but I thought we'd get the Demo today at least, then the Game next week. I'm 57, but feel like a 7-year-old on about December 15...Christmas is never going to get here! I guess its because ever since I started board & miniature gaming "seriously" (as opposed to knocking over plastic army men with dirt clods) in 1970, and discovered that computers could play chess against humans, I wanted a computer WWII game that like this. I never got into CMx1 because the graphics were so bad compared to IL 2 (I was heavily into IL2 before I found out about CMBO). After 2-3 years after playing all the CMSF games/modules, knowing how fantastic this engine is and what it's capable of, my almost 40 year old dream is soooo close. I think of it as ASL Live...and on steroids! And not having to wade through 100+ pages of rules in fine print. So get here already!
  8. Tube Man nails a Tiger! Those are definitely better walking animations than CMSF.
  9. The manual covers that. Yes there is an option.
  10. That bothered me too, LLF. I haven't fired up CMSF in about 6 months, but I don't remember buildings falling that quickly in that game. Are modern 2nd/3rd world countries that much stonger than old stone & mortar European buildings?
  11. Here's the deal. Why release the manual on a Tuesday? Because they want to release the Game on Friday, 2-3 days later, which according to someone else on one of these threads, is the usual. So, Demo tomorrow, game on Friday. There. Gospel. For me, anyway. gibsonm, please note the smiley.
  12. Thanks for the manual, BFC! It is really well-written, and much better than the CM:SF manual. I actually now understand the difference between Exit After and Exit Before, and that is no small feat considering that the detailed thread on the CM:SF board about the difference, while helpful, still left me a little shaky. For that matter, the whole Editor section is very well done!
  13. What happened on June 6th? It's my brother's birthday, but surely BFC could care less about that?
  14. OK, nobody's said it, so I will. IF you go by the theory that BFC would probably want to release the game on a Friday (Friday Bones & letting everyone have a weekend to play with it, etc.), and IF you believed BFC meant it when they said "around the end of April", and IF last Wednesday's announcement was really supposed to have said 7-21 days, then releasing the Manual on a Tuesday can ONLY lead to one, certain conclusion...I don't know when the f**k it's going to be released.
  15. Corporal Punishment, Privates Dance, Meeting, and Eye.
  16. Press copy? I got a buddy who works in the newspaper industry. Send me his copy, and I'll make sure he gets it. No, really. I promise.
  17. Tarzan, I use GreenasJade's manager, because I had so damn many CMSF mods: http://cmsfmods.heroku.com/ I assume he'll continue with CM:BN mods...
  18. Jeez, don't give in so easy, Ali-Baba...that means it could be as late as the 6th!
  19. Judging by the smoke columns on the destroyed armor in several of these pics....they are dynamic and "lean" with the wind? Cool if so. I don't recall that in CMSF.
  20. A question related to releases that I don't think has come up yet: What's the "best" day of the week for BFC to release it? Since this game is not purchased in stores, I assume any day is as good as any other from a marketing scheme. But to please this audience, I assume they'll put it out on a Friday so that we can all spend the weekend glued to our monitors. Otherwise, the national ecenomies of several nations might take a huge dive in productivity for up to a week if it was released, say, on a Monday. So my guess is April 29 or May 6. Please, please, please be April 29!
  21. I've been playing IL2 since 2001, and went several years before we got out of Russia to the Med, then another few years before we got to the Pacific (my favorite I'd been waiting for since the beginning), and several more years before it was opened up fully to the modding community. So, I'll be more than happy with one module every 9 months to a year. But even so, once I get CM:BN on my 'puter, I will probably not get tired of it for quite some time. I know it will be quite a looooong time before we see the Eastern Front, and unless 3rd parties get involved, probably never see the Med or Pacific Theaters, but once we get the Brit/SS?FJ module and the Market-Garden one, I'll be good for about 10 years. I can wait on the Bulge game.
  22. I have an idea: Steve/BFC, send me my preorder now, and I promise to make as many videos as these guys want!
