This is really happening
I got an urge to play cold war era games so I installed World in Conflict and it's still a as fun today as it was in 2007. I still have my collectors edition somewhere with a piece of the Berlin wall. The graphics is still good even by today standards and one can max it out without problem. Sure it's not comparable to Combat Mission game and it's a bit later era (1989) but it's still a fun story and fun gameplay!

I am going to bed now. I hope I don't wake up tomorrow and find out that this day was just one long dream...

I had posted awhile ago that the delays caused by BFC working with Slitherine last year on their military project for the Brits was liable to see a downstream benefit from BFC becoming used to working to a deadline. This was what I was talking about. Turnaround on this title is about a fast as anything I've seen from them. And no corners cut doing it, either.

I am also somewhat impatient while waiting and I like it when the time between announcement and release is short. Like Bethesda did with Skyrim, they presented it at E3 in June if I am not mistaken and they launched the game in November that very same year!
Hmm, I just fact checked my own memory and I mixed Skyrim up with Fallout 4. Skyrim was announced in December 2010.

- M16A1 with 30-round mags approx.1977-
- ALICE carry system 1973–1997

My estimation is summer 1979

What did I miss?

My guess is that they wanted Fire and Rubble somewhat halfway out of the door before they announced anything new. My hope was/is that they were working on more stuff and 2021 might be a very good year

I really hope it's between NATO and Warsaw Pact but I am happy with a cold war era CM in Korea as well.
Either way it's a nice change from WW2 and modern era
 

It looks like M1 helmets on the soldiers in the picture.
From that I think it can't be much later than 1983-85, most likely earlier than 80's.
This was a fun surprise, now I have to continue working! So I earn $$ for the preorder.
