  1. What improvements are there in the editor, out of interest? I'm aware of the Ai triggers but what else is there?
  2. Yeah, I've seen this recently. I had the remains of an SS squad attempt to surrender to some GIs. The GIs gunned down one of the guys with his hands in the air - it was pretty brutal to see - but this was before the white flag appeared so it might well have been an attempt to suppress elements the AI regarded as still dangerous.
  3. He lives in the same village as my parents. I'd never heard about him until about a year ago when one of my dad's friends was telling me about him. Quite the auld bugger, by all accounts - mind you, I think he's more than earned the right.
  4. I found this a hard battle. I got a total Victory, but it came at a cost. I whacked the farm with the full company at the beginning in order to neutralize it quickly, which I did with very light causalities (1 dead, 4 wounded IIRC,) but the move across the fields was much more fraught. Although I took out the mobile AA with a single, very lucky burst from a MG, the armoured car proved a much harder opponent until a bazooka finally did for him. My move into the village once the AC was killed was fairly bloody and I lost a lot of men, but once I had a foothold I slaughtered the defenders. They just crumbled at the end. It was a turkey shoot.
  5. That's probably it. Thanks. I had assumed something similar, only I thought it was possibly one of the other carriers carry extra rounds. Didn't occur to me that it might simply be reading the other team's load. @Yankeedog. Good advice there, thanks. I've actually been trying to do that to little effect so far. My timing is probably off. Of course, every time I suppress one of the little darlings, another pops up and suppresses my suppressors. I'll get there. Col. Frost might be on his own for a while mind you.
  6. Yeah, tell me about it. SPOILERS ******************************************************************************************************************** Held up at the border with the clock ticking down. That damn 75mm dug in to the trees to the right of the ville has taken 16 rockets and countless rounds (bang on target) from my on board 81mm mortars. And yet....every time I think the goose-stepping SOB is dead for good and I start moving armour into a position it can support infantry, up he pops and puts another round into a tank or armoured car. If he survived all that and can still return fire, they ARE the bloody Master Race. On a slightly separate note, I noticed an oddity - dunno whether it's a bug or not: During the set up phase, the two medium mortars assigned to A Coy are both carrying 60 rounds in total - 54 rounds of HE and 6 rounds of smoke. As soon as either the mortar teams or their transports are moved (either during set up, or by giving orders) This total drops to exactly half. Anyone else noticed this? I thought I had made a mistake so I just went and started the mission again to make sure. Bug or WAD? Double to amount of HE would certainly make my like a bit easier.
  7. The maps look amazing. Can I ask, how did you do the flat roofed towers? Can we put in building without roofs now, or is this one of the mods you'll be packaging with the maps? They're very cool looking.
  8. Well, you may not enjoy them as much as you enjoy doing others, but I'm glad you do them: Those two screen shots look fantastic.
  9. That first map looks stunning, and the second one really does look like many of the little, quiet streets I've wondered down in so many tiny Italian towns. Superb. Are we going to get proper vines instead of Bocage, say?
  10. I hadn't had any problems with this for a while, but an AVG update the other day has triggered the whole PITA off again. It's a pain, but at least you can work around it.
  11. I'm enjoying 'Keep Calm and Carry On' just now from the CW module. An infantry company, a few tanks and a really nice map. My perfect size of scenario.
  12. Good memories of pouring out of Drummonds (I think that's what it was called,) on the corner of Belmont and Union street on many sunny May afternoons. Almost made up for those long, long months when you couldn't tell where the granite buildings ended and the grey, grey skies began. Here in Glasgow we've had two or three beautiful winter days. Cold, crisp, sunny with blue skies. Perfect. It's supposed to pour with rain tomorrow so, Battlefront, tonight would be an ace time to release this puppy!
  13. Yeah, I won't be making that mistake again. Download only for me this time. EDIT: Just saw the post above. Ah well, I'll still just get the DL alone this time.
  14. 'Parachute Infantry' is a very good book and an interesting counter point to the other Easy Company memoirs currently available. He certainly comes at the subject from a slightly less - I don't know what the word is - nostalgic angle. but then, he wrote it not long after the war. It's interesting to read about what he thinks of a number of the other company members. He certainly didn't like Peacock very much. I think Ambrose drew on it quite heavily for his own book.
  15. +1. I love BN. I think it's a brilliant game and I will be playing it for years. But I still prefer SF. I think it's an outstanding title that never got the love or respect that it deserved from a lot of people for a whole bunch of reasons - some good, some not. I'm still playing it heavily in PBEM while I have yet to get involved in a BN match up. All three of the modules were superb and the scenario making got better and better with each release. You know why else I like it? There is nothing else out there remotely like it. Nothing. No other game I have scratches that itch I have for modern combat. When It was first announced I, like a lot of people thought, 'well, where's the fun going to be in that?' Boy - was I wrong.
  16. I believe it is just the basic M4 variants that he has modded so far. I think he said that he has actually uploaded the M4A3 pack to the repositary so I guess they will be available on monday.
  17. Cool. I wonder if something got changed in a Windows update. I'll give it a spin myself tomorrow.
  18. Well, if it works for you go for it. I wonder why it works for you? GPU? Something else?
  19. +3 for FRAPS. I've never had any problems with it. As MeatEtr points out, though, it's best to change the file type from BMP to JPG if you're planning to use them as screen shots. Unlike McLargehuge, I've never had any success using printscreen, either with W7 64 or previously with Vista.
  20. No, you can't edit the campaign missions, I'm afraid. If it was a single scenario you could open it up in the editor and add extra time although this may well screw with the designer's AI plans. As far as I know, once scenarios are packed as campaigns they can't be unpacked.
  21. I do actually remember a mention of the model being done, but that is from a long time ago. I think a few things went bye bye over the years. Does anyone remember that screenshot of a US on-board mortar team? That must have been 2005 or 2006 it appeared and promptly vanished.
  22. Yeah, probably. All these years with it and never had this problem before. I'm wondering if it has something to do with my anti-virus - it quarantined my NATO module when I last reinstalled. I'll bet that had something to do with it.
