  1. Paper Tiger, I was a bit disappointed to see that the first mission had changed because I LOVED the original version. But after playing it, I had great fun. Two of the tanks made it past my atgm barrage, but a few well placed rocket squads took them out. Now I'm starting the second mission (love the picture with the Syrian face by the way! That's the best face out of all of them! lol)... PT, I have to thank you. I've seen you posting about this campaign for quite some time and know how much hard work you have put into it. Your work is top notch and I really appreciate all of it. I played through your first version and had a blast. Looking forward to digging deeper into Hasrabit!
  2. I laid down some heavy covering fire and peeled my guys up the hill to the left. From the hill, I had half my guys shooting, the other half moving further up the hill to the left of the cop shop. Once all the red guys on the outside were gone, I moved in. I didn't have to go far, because the mission ended as soon at that point. I think I would have lost more guys going up the gut.
  3. Wow. That sounds like hell for whoever is on the receiving end. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=1a4_1188628820 http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=2ac_1222782651 http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=5b0_1220720717 http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=226_1218554347 <----go to 8:30 into the video sorry, i got a bit carried away with the videos, but good ones none the less.
  4. That's what happens when you give the drunk guy the lighter fluid at the bbq.
  5. I'm amazed at the detail level every time I fire it up. 1 to 1 accuracy is the one thing I think I wanted the most out of CMx1.
  6. I don't know if field artillery can do this, but I've seen (on tv) the big 16 inchers were able to fire one round with a high trajectory, one with a medium trajectory, and one with a shallow trajectory and have all 3 rounds impact simultaneously at the same point. Now that is some gunnin'! The naval artillery in CMSF Marines is really just 155mm field guns labeled as Naval guns. I don't think they modeled naval artillery.
  7. Enjoying it quite a bit! I just played Airbone Probe. It was fun. I was surprised by the enemy onslaught but still managed to win. 8 kia.
  8. Cool battle. I played as blue and won! I set up an ambush so every time the enemy vehicles broke through the berm I nailed them. Thanks!
  9. The hardest part for me was the amount of enemy artillery. They hit me for an hour and a half straight, severly pounding me into the ground. This is a tough one.
  10. Nice scenario! At first I thought there was no way I was going to win... uphill battle with no cover? But it was well designed and I ended up winning, but lost 6 KIA. Hopefully, you'll make more!
  11. Yeah. I cannot leave a comment. I press the button and nothing happens. I don't know why. I have a feeling that others experience this as well.
  12. Great mod! Cmmods is blowing up right now! There's more mods and scenarios than I can deal with!
  13. Alright! Downloading now. My regards to you and Mishga.
  14. Forgot something very important. Breaking contact: 1) If you are only breaking contact with one squad, the best you can do in this game his run for it. 2) But if you have multiple squads, have one or more fire while the other peels back. Once that squad has moved back, have them open fire and then the next squad moves back. It's just as important to know when not to fight as it is to know how to fight. Yair Iny, no problem. This board is about the only place I can talk military, so I don't mind at all. When I talk about this stuff to most people in my life, their eyes glaze over and they start calling me Tackleberry.
  15. Cambronne, On or off map mortars means jack squat. Ofcourse it would be cool in some scenarios, but it doesn't detract from gameplay one bit. You're missing out.
  16. A little det cord wrapped around the screw and it's a rowboat. A chapter right out of a Richard Marcinko book. I should know, I had orders to BUD/S for about 6 weeks . "Come down to crazy Steve's used tank lot! Just look at this 1973 T-72 with only 23 miles on it! 0.1 miles per gallon and 0.2 on the highway! Never, EVER, get stuck in traffic again! Only $150,000! Get yours today!" - cue the pet elephant and the oversized cowboy hat - http://www.paintball-guns.tv/images/paintball_mini_tank.jpg
  17. OK. Here's some of what I remember, without getting into too much detail. Let me know if you need more help. These things should get your creative juices flowing. Offense: 1) Frontal assaults: Only if last resort, extremely important, or you have vastly superior forces. 2) Flanking: Engage with one unit or group and flank with another. Marines are masters of maneuver warfare. 3) Long distance engagements: Just shooting until they stop shooting back. 4) Combined arms: Using infantry, tanks, air, arty, etc. 5) Advancing to contact: Learn to find the enemy so you can kill him. 6) Using covering fire: Pin down the enemy so that your guys can advance. Defense: 1) Setting up defenses for enemy frontal assaults. They may try to run over you. Either fight face to face or hide, let them pass, and then hit them from behind. 2) Don't leave your flanks exposed. This is an invitation for a lifetime membership to the VA hospital. 3) Don't leave holes in your defense. 4) Hide everyone that doesn't need to be out until you need them. Ambushing: 1) Hide until the enemy is in the kill zone. 2) Ambush from multiple sides, like an L shape. Don't ambush a convoy from both sides of the road. Chances are, you'll shoot your buddies. 3) Open the ambush with heavy weapons, clean up with small arms. 4) Have an escape route. Getting Ambushed: 1) Distant ambushes: You can stop, find cover, and return fire or keep moving. 2) Close ambushes: Move as quickly as possible out of the kill zone. If you can't, scream as loud as you can (your war cry, Marine!), charge the enemy positions, fire on full auto, throw grenades, stab, gouge out eyes, bite throats, and rip off enemy private parts. You honestly will have a better chance of survival than running around looking for cover. 3) Convoy security: Learn how to keep a convoy safe. Here's a link someone put up on this forum a while back that might help you out too... http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/library/policy/army/accp/index.html You should get plenty of material from there. Like I said, if you need additional pointers, pm me and let me know.
  18. Out of all the HMMWV's I drove (dozens), very few had working speedometers. Looks like BFC did their research!
  19. That was a great video. It would definitely help in the making of a scenario. I'd play it...
  20. First Impression: I played the first mission so far. Marines has exceeded my expectations. I love the sounds. The radio chatter is great: It solves problems that I have brought up in the recent past. Now I know if my guys are injured or dead: That's a huge help. Precision airstrikes: All of my JDAM's hit the mark. Smoooth frame rates: bigger battles? Highlighted squares: very nice improvement. Now I know exactly where my guys are going. Basically, I saw only major improvements. Can't wait until the next mission!
  21. JP76er and Meach. You guys are way too cool. Your offers are appreciated, but I must decline. Thank you very much. It means a lot to me. You guys have both reinforced my belief that there are good people out there. In fact, the whole crowd that hangs around these forums are of a calibre I have not witnessed at any other forum. Thank you.
