  1. 1) No. Definite change needed. 2) No. You have to play the turn out. 3) Maybe 5 minutes or so. Be careful. I've canceled air attacks just to have them drop a bomb a few minutes later. Then they realized they need to cease fire. Same with artillery. But I agree. Battlefront has done a good job.
  2. I understand Steve's points. I am currently developing drug dispensing software for clinic use. It's taken me two weeks to be able to change the price during a sale. This seems like an easy task, but doing so caused so many problems that it really was like a huge logic puzzle. Make one small change and it makes another thing not work. Change that to work and you've got another problem. It's a domino effect. Changing the original structure of my program could have been done but it might have taken a month to do. And all of this just to change the price of a drug during a sale and record the change. So I fully understand what Steve is talking about. As a business, they have to utilize their time in a way that doesn't crash the business. They need to weigh the value of bridges vs. the value of moving forward and noting lessons learned, all while keeping us happy with update patches and new modules.
  3. Any ideas why the add comment button does nothing when I click it?? Yep. I'd say it has done more than that for me. While the stock missions are mostly fun, the quality of many of the user made missions is wonderful. New levels of creativity have been achieved there. Good job designers! And thanks.
  4. I've heard several people saying they miss all the action in rt. They like the cinematic quality. Sometimes it's nice to sit back and see how your plan worked.
  5. . I'm broke. And with my 10 yr anniversary coming up I can't spare the 25 bucks. Instead I'll be in beautiful Lake Tahoe waiting for my November paycheck.
  6. Agreed. I could see it under certain situations. Like if the scenario was about local insurgents who sit around like they are regular civilians and then reach under the couch or in their little secret hiding areas and then engage. But this, I think, would have to be used sparingly and only when a scenario calls for that particular type of action to occur. Otherwise I agree with you 100%.
  7. I think you can start the mission, then cease fire. Once you do that, look at the map to see where everyone is. Also, you could wait for a while and check every 15 minutes or so to see when the reinforcements show up. If you do that, don't forget to save!
  8. Cabal23, funny you say that. When I was deployed to Roosevelt Roads Navy base in Puerto Rico, I ran into a couple while snorkeling. I dove down about 10 feet or so and saw a SEAL with scuba swimming another 20 feet down. As my breath started to run out, I looked up and BOOM, another SEAL and I were face to face, both startled. We surfaced and he asked who I was and I asked him what he was doing. Apparently, they were lobster hunting! . On another occasion, I did a SEAL mission on them! I was in my snorkel gear and went next door (our camp was adjacent to the SEAL camp) to check things out. They had a couple of really badass blue and gray cammo speed boats. They kept them neatly tucked away in their own little harbor. I don't know what kind of boats they were, but they looked very high tech and stealthy. Looked like this but all tricked out with SEAL toys. http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.navyboats.com/db5/00448/navyboats.com/_uimages/hsb08b.JPG&imgrefurl=http://www.navyboats.com/&h=475&w=1165&sz=85&hl=en&start=9&um=1&usg=__cMG_XPA9irdsA3s_LfOzGMKtmrE=&tbnid=pL-NSeibIv3ikM:&tbnh=61&tbnw=150&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dnavy%2Bseal%2Bboat%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Doff%26rls%3Dcom.microsoft:en-us%26sa%3DG Pretty cool.
  9. I use cmmods. I have never left any feedback. But not because I don't want to, but when I click the button to add a comment, it does nothing. I tried resolving this a while back but could never get it to work. Please help me! I have a ton of feedback I would like to add.
  10. I've wondered how cmsf compares to a government simulator. I'm not sure that cmsf is detailed enough to test those things. Providing detailed hit reports would be the first step. I think it could be more useful in testing tactics.
  11. And Seabees get the Marines old crap. I swear some of my stuff still had mud from 'Nam on them. Only recently did they move from the m60e3 to the m240g.
  12. Thanks cabal23, I agree. I had designed it (stupidly) thinking that vehicles wouldn't go through the HUGE craters. I was wrong. But I didn't want all that work to go to waste, so I put it out there anyway. Either way, there is still some fun to be had with this scenario. Glad you like the Fox News guys! You know you get points if they don't die. Just one of those things that pops up during combat. It reminds me of the thing that made we want to join the navy and become a seal... in '93 when we went to somalia to give them food, I was watching the news. On LIVE tv, filmed by reporters on the somali beach, a small group of navy seals came ashore at night in a small inflatable, then ran up to a spot in the sand and dug up something that was buried (??!!) in the sand, and then they left. All the time yelling at the idiot reporters who were filming them with bright camera lights shined on them. The whole time I was freaking out at how kickass it was. Later, as the sun began to rise, you could see the Marines making their way inland. Very cool.
  13. RommL, What mod is ETO? I downloaded CMSF_Balkanswar2. Where is number 1? Is it Nouveau_terrain?
  14. I have to agree with you. Although, I do know the optimal places for the AT guys to win with or without the F-15's. I actually had them drop 5 bombs on one tank to take it out. The tank was sitting at the bottom of 4 large craters perfectly fine before the 5th one finally took him out. The AT assets are there because that's how a small group of men would take out tanks. Sure the idea was to take out the bridge, but if any tanks make it past (they will usually) you're not throwing rocks at main battle tanks. Also, say the column suddenly was stuck on their side of the bridge. They would make easy pickings for a few guys with AT missiles. Bottom line is having played through it several times, I sometimes had my butt kicked and sometimes I was able to win with very few casualties. That is why there are the number that there are. Quite a few of my missiles (maybe half) tend to fall short or miss entirely. I could lower the number of missiles, but that's really pushing it if you don't get as lucky as you do. Glad you like the news crew. Did you save them or let them die?
  15. So, do you guys like it? Do you hate it? How can it be improved?
  16. TOP SECRET: US forces are organizing a surprise armored flanking manuever from the south. When the Syrian Army finds out about it, they will surely reroute their supply lines. Take your team to a bridge where we think they will try to cross. When and if they do, we will be ready for them. Link up with Syrian rebels and be ready to ambush them. Good Luck. Move out. END TOP SECRET http://www.cmmods.com Warning: There is one major problem with this scenario. I initially designed it thinking that the vehicles would not be able to move past the huge craters. I was wrong. So you've got to use a little bit of imagination and then it's not too shabby a mission. Let me know what you think!
  17. John, you're exactly right about the longbow. But it's really only going to do that in a really hot environment. When it comes down to supporting infantry actions against other infantry, the radar is going to be useless. It's still going to have to go in and light **** up face to face to be effective in that capacity.
  18. [quote= Can't wait to see what you have in store next (I don't know what I'm more excited for, your camapign or Marines ).
  19. It would be helpful, also would be nice to be able to put any old .bmp or .jpg over the terrain too. This way, you could take an overhead shot of an area and just build on top of it. It would be nice to be able to toggle this feature as well.
  20. Can't wait bud. Hasrabit was fun and I'm looking forward to seeing your improvements, as well as playing it with the new patch.
  21. Nidan, let it load up, mine always gets stuck on 52%, but if I let go it will work eventually.
  22. I don't <bzzzzz> know <bzzzz> what ever <bzzzzzzzzz> happened <bzzzz...smack!> to that guy!
