  1. I have thought that East against West in Europe, 1945 or 46, would be quite interesting. As sburke points out, in a short while all the components required will be available. I suppose it could be a module for CMBN.
  2. A really enjoyable scenario. It kept me on my toes and at the edge of my chair. I managed a minor victory pulled from the jaws of defeat during the last 5 minutes.
  3. Hi SR, I am playing this scenario now. It is just the type of scenario I like. Lots of tactical options. It's not going as well as I thought it might and I am quite curious as to how the game will end. I will check back when I have finished. Thanks for the scenario. I look forward to playing your other ones.
  4. I am curious. What do you mean by reset? Is it a new license key?
  5. A solution to this problem would relieve quite a bit of frustration with spotting and targeting.
  6. Grid lines for the map. This really helps one to see the lay of the land at a glance. Gustav line is an expansion and in my view worth my money to have access to more varied unit types.
  7. Have you tried Panzer III'S against Stuarts. I have found in QB's that they can be a reasonable match.
  8. I always thought the way Battlefront "arranges" their games to be very sensible since system requirements enable a broad range of users, with different levels of computer power, to handle the game. Until recently I always had lower system specs but could always run CM well, and the game still looked reasonably good even with lower options. Sadly I cannot say the same of some other war games I have purchased.
  9. Since I started playing CMx2 I have only gone back to CMx1 a few times. Like others there are some aspects of CMx1 that I hope will be included with the new generations of Combat Mission. I remember enjoying the following. Flame Throwers and burning buildings. The Hull Down Command. Do you remember the little playing card symbols that denoted special abilities like stealthiness? And of course the ability to completely cherry pick your forces for a QB. I liked the random map generator as well. But I presume Battlefront traded convenience for higher fidelity which must be one of those difficult decisions to make as software developers. To me this game is head and shoulders above any tactical wargame currently available. I think if CMx2 was not developed then I would still think the same of CMx1.
  10. Thanks to all the hard working and imaginative modders who make a great game even better.
  11. The only thing that has definitely died is the original posters interest in the discussion they started. 15 pages and no comment from him. Interesting. I started with CMBO in the early days. My deepest concern for the future of the game was BF's original CMx2 idea of doing away with PBEM and WEGO. Thank goodness they changed their minds. Oh, and the blue progress turn bar.............if that was not restored God only knows what the result may have been. This game is brilliant. There is so much to enjoy. Modding, map making, scenario design, oh and of course you can actually play the game. Not counting the many ways it can be played. Online, Single Player and PBEM as we'll. I can't think of another game that provides so much variety at such a reasonable price. If I was capable of designing a game I would have made it just like this.............but of course with a random map generator. Yipes!!! Does the above make me a fanboy?
  12. Thanks JuJu. The game would not be as enjoyable without your mods.
  13. 35 days until Christmas.........I have this odd feeling that perhaps we will have a surprise before then.........or maybe that's just my wishful thinking.
  14. I am wondering when a patch, upgrade, or new module is released does it update all of the previous scenarios?
  15. Good points GSX. However considering my non-existent experience in the Military, let alone combat, I find I can approximate most of what I need with the tools at hand. Such as scouts, splitting teams and the like.
  16. Welcome to the forum. Probably you have already played the tutorials, but if not you should. As Womble said, the scenario forces are unbalanced to provide a challenge from the A.I. to the human player. However it is not difficult to import a scenario into the editor and give your self more units and rename it.
  17. A very enjoyable scenario. I am playing wego as Brits and it is 10 minutes before extra time. The Brits are holding but the Stugs remain unscathed. I lost my AT gun during the first 2 turns. Luckily I have been able to decimate the German infantry. Now if I can only hold out against the Stugs and the few remaining Jerry squads.
  18. Hi, I am looking for a short sleeve mod. I have checked the repository and Green as Jades site, but could not find anything. Perhaps I overlooked something. Anyone know of one? Thanks, John

  20. Market Garden has arrived but still no word on the 1.10 patch for CMFI.
  21. Has anyone experienced the situation of a difference in set up LOS and the LOS available once the game starts. For example during set up an infantry gun is placed as you wish it to be with the LOS you want, but when the game starts you no longer have it.
