  1. you may want to look in the QB folder. Depending on what variables you select, there may be only one map that matches. That will change as more QB maps are released with each module etc, but the first release only has so much content. Check out the folder and you'll have a better idea what options are available so you can possibly alter your selection criteria. See if that helps, if not there could be an issue, but my first suspicion is simply the amount of content and options selected.

  3. Personally I think the time where the western powers could intervene has come and gone. I don't believe we could stop the fighting, only damp it down. About the only option I see as maybe having a chance is the Arab League assembling a mixed Shiite/Sunni force and moving in. Anyone else is just gonna be another target. Initially the religious aspect wasn't as strong as the political movement. That train left the station a while ago. Now you have guys that even Al Qaeda considers as too extreme doing crucifixions. Crucifixions for crying out loud! Apparently there is video with people strolling by as if it were nothing out of the ordinary. WTF?!
  4. Gets into sticky water. Who's mods make the list? Heck even AKD releases his own sound mod. In addition BF is not responsible for how anyone else mods the game. To include a mod as a part of the actual game they would have to be sure no copyright issues are there. For example I loaded the mod for the Band of Brothers music for CMBN. BF can't do that. Now this particular item obviously wouldn't have copyright issues, but it does go back to them deciding what to include. Personally, I have the mod loaded. What I really want though is the hide button for example to change to unhide when my guys are hiding so I know when I hit the button what is gonna happen, same with button- I'd like button/unbutton and deploy/undeploy. I hate wondering "wait that unit is deployed, did I tell them to undeploy? Crap!"
  5. I think that is generally true of the entire team. Except me. Seriously the amount of work everyone does that you only get a glimpse of every now and then is pretty awesome. Sure there are always things that slip through the cracks etc, but the percentage is incredibly small despite what you might think from only seeing the public forum. BF has a pretty incredible, very dedicated group of people and I think the product shows that.
  6. I wish I understood Russian and German to really appreciate it. Even if I knew what they mean with a list it isn't the same as hearing it and understanding it as it is spoken. Still I like it even if when the FO is calling to the battery and I am going, wait what did he say was that for spotting for the first battery or an FFE call.... :eek:

  8. The truck change needs to be done in the editor in creation of the scenario. It can not be done by the player during a scenario.
  9. Thanks guys. I'll be taking up a collection shorty. I tried the hammer test. My PC is in pieces all over the floor and my cat is swatting dram around the room. Suffice it to say that a hammer on a pc is a bad move if you want to play CM. However I was able to confirm no one was injured so does that mean the HE shell would not have hurt anyone? Maybe I should run the test a bunch more times...this could get expensive, but you guys are good for it right? Guess I'll have to go work in the yard for a bit for something to do while waiting for the replacement.
  10. Yeah the unfortunate part of playing the AI is you can learn some bad habits as well as never being exposed to tactics a human player might try. For example, when setting your defense did you check wind direction? A little smoke could ruin your whole day.
  11. I'd hesitate to say it has been stomped. PM me with whatever you have and I'll pass it along. Can't hurt to ask.
  12. Those are forest tiles by the Panther so I'd bet you guys are correct, trees are turned off. Also without being able to see the actual turn, a single snapshot gives no context. Without that we are all guessing. Could be a real messed up spotting issue or we could do a face palm and say, why of course, between the smoke, trees and close infantry assault, the Panther is distracted.
  13. Always tinkering. Messing around in the editor is half the fun. I also wanted to mess around with illumination for effect. In a future release hopefully we will see it influence spotting.

  15. Another forgotten street fight in the last year of the war. The streets are dark except for the fire of burning buildings..okay not buildings, but there is fire. The steadfast defenders wait patiently Suddenly the enemy is spotted and the night erupts in flame and noise. From unseen assailants in the rubble grenades come flying Overthrown but close enough to stun Underthrown, but enough to illuminate the attackers.   18. This is one of those features that just isn't going to please everyone. Would be nice if a toggle or mod could be applied. Then I'd have one less thread cluttering up the view.

  22. to simple see the names go into the editor, open a map and you can see all the terrain options/names. There is also some logic you can assume. Mud is gonna slow you down, tire your troops and bog your vehicles. Swamp pretty much the same, probably worse. Heat can also impact your troops causing them to tire more quickly According to the manual heavy rain can cause the terrain to increase potential for bogging over time. Haven't played an extended scenario in a downpour yet to see the effect. cover and concealment is a whole other issue. A single AS can be impacted by several different items. You can have the tile itself ranging from dirt to heavy woods and then add trees, hedges and brush all in the same tile.
  23. Pets and kids do not like long running board games. Well my cats do, but unfortunately their sense of strategy, which pieces they are allowed to move ... or even keeping them on the board was seriously flawed.
  24. One difference is that with the T 34 you can add them yourself in the editor, simple process. With the PPsH it has to be part of the ToE...or you could just give yourself some Russian guys using the same process as you would to get a T34. To be in the ToE is not a small deal, they have to be fairly certain of how they want to add them or they have to set an option to add them in the editor which the player can then alter anytime they choose. They tend to shy away from that. There is a precedent with some of the Italian weapons appearing in German hands. Handling the ammo is another issue. Your PPsH guys tend to unload their ammo pretty darn quick. Now you have a guy with no ammo and no good way to get more.
