  1. Not at all, if you happen to crew it with the Keebler elves.
  2. Well I for one AM a mostly uniformed civilian who doesn't know what he is talking about, thank you very much. And damn proud of it. If it was good enough for my pappy and his pappy before him, then it's damn well good enough for me! Being a village idiot is a respectable job you know! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=bhDJxEPRDek ]
  3. Tit tut, not me. All that nuclear energy is gonna give me enormous superpowers and a neat spandex outfit. Probably a nifty hairdo as well.
  4. Thousands of dollars is probably not worth the effort - assume that steam only takes 10% $1000 is 25 sales and isn't going to fill Charle's jar more than a couple times with his favored champagne. Now if steam were to generate thousands of sales........ But it is highly doubtful that anyone has any data to lead one to that conclusion.
  5. Heh there is one point I didn't worry about was winning. Just the play of the game was enough to light me up.
  6. Well thanks gents. And my folks were afraid after my time in the gaol I would never amount to anything. They'll be so proud. Oh by the way did I mention I am originally from Phila. Mr Shaw, Mr Shaw are you okay?
  7. I believe you can re download the bundle. That would put you at 2.12. Then you would just have to purchase the 3.0 upgrade.
  8. Just one question before I proceed about my duties - just exactly what does one do with a pissbucket in a cesspool? It just seems somewhat . . . well. . .er . . .redundant. Oh actually two questions, have you all ever considered drinking less beer and perhaps consuming more of your alcohol on somewhat stronger (and less voluminous) beverages? Whiskey perhaps? Just a thought. Well off I go to empty this bucket. . . .somewhere.
  9. To be a little more specific, we like the game because within the scope of what the game can do we have to apply tactics. It is a historian's game as opposed to say a gamer's game if you get my gist. As such learning it is about both learning real world tactics and knowing some history while at the same time mastering game mechanics. The idea of providing additional teaching tools is a good one however keeping them up to date as the game develops is likely problematic. It is enough work for BF to keep the manual up to date, an item they have struggled with. What might be nice is if they kept a sticky on game tactics with links to various articles and video clips with the caveat that some may be out of date in terms of actual game mechanics.
  10. Yep, I think on this forum that is one item we all agree on. I am sure BF would be thrilled to see any expansion in their sales and web based business is a constantly moving subject. If they could find a way to broaden their reach and still maintain full control of pricing etc I expect they would jump at it. Until some model exists that allows them to do so I doubt we will see anything. What the community really needs is a sales charity something like kiva that takes a small cut and just provides a venue. What BF doesn't need is a retailer focused approach. Instead someone is gonna have to come up with some kind of community model that isn't profit based. It is not out of the question that this could arise, but once it had enough impact someone would come along and buy it. How that service would pay for itself I have no idea as I am with Erwin when it comes to signing up to anything that tracks my like and dislikes anymore than the ones I have already.
  11. Yep. Honestly not even sure when the discussion launched into the issue of "historical accuracy" and whether that position was ever voiced by BF. For CMRT it was almost a requirement to work on tanks as infantry transport because of a specific tactical capability in the soviet army. I think this is more or less one of those items where they have to figure out where to invest their time and for CMBN and CMFI it just wasn't from their view worth that effort of looking at tac AI issues etc. I am not even sure they are real happy with the current way it functions, but at a basic level it is working. CMRT was different and an added benefit in 3.0 in terms of map sizing has altered the decision factors for the earlier games. Whether we will see it is still up in the air, but I expect by the time the bulge game comes out we will and that will be followed by an engine upgrade to CMBN and CMFI, just my two cents worth. Mostly I think it is a matter of figuring out how to pay for the effort to redo vehicle models. $10 upgrades aren't gonna do it, but including it in the effort for bulge seems far more likely.
  12. Honestly even if folks could somehow derive those numbers I doubt BF would be interested. BFs focus seems to have been more along these lines over the past 10 years or so 1- Develop the cmx2 engine - essentially CMSF they had to first find out that 1:1 was gonna work. Choosing a modern setting was just bring crafty daredevils. Perhaps they just felt they needed a fresh setting otherwise it would be conflicting too much with the existing cmx1 base 2- Launching back into the ww2 setting and getting a feel for demand. -CMBN and CMFI 3- Working on the production cycle process and the ability to have more than one project in the pipeline. CMRT and the following modules/game families 4-Developing a strategy to keep all games current. Release of 2.0 for CMBN and subsequent 3.0. I think BF is still working the kinks out on this one to try and reduce the amount of labor it takes At no point there do I think BF really focused on a "sales effort". My impression based on them expanding their company (yeah Phil!) and their output is that sales aren't really their issue right now. Their income versus expense model seems to be increasingly moving in a favorable direction and it would seem that their business model has proven itself sound to survive fluctuations in the economy. In that situation where you are in full control of your sales model and forecasting why would they ever consider putting any of that at risk? The release of CMBS is going to bring them more attention. This one is gonna rock. Even if the setting is not one you are interested in, it is gonna fascinate to see how combat has changed in the Information Age. During the latter days of the Cold War as NATO started looking at air land battle and other such concepts about getting inside their opponents decision making cycle (the modern version of France 1940), we had only a glimmer of what was to come. My only question for BF is, what the heck is CMx3 gonna look like. Considering that from BFs perspective it would likely mean going out of business, I hate the idea.
  13. While testing RT I was convinced the T34 85 had uber spotting capability. It took a lot of playing to convince me otherwise. They do spot far better than a T34 76.
  14. Per Steve (more times than I can count) no Here was the last time. Notice thread closed, I think Steve is a bit tired of us telling them what they should be doing when the reality is they have done quite well with their business http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=115612&page=17
  15. I suspect this is one of those "if they don't the AI is gonna get slaughtered" items
  16. Cool, I've been nominated for a promotion from an ssn to a dumbbell! Things are looking up!
  17. Rotflmao. Just saw a shirt saying "I'm not saying I AM superman, but no one has ever seen he and I in the same room at the same time". However I can say with certainty I have not the skill at spinning a tale as Master Ken. I just have him as a mentor. And if ken ever tries to put his hand up my bum to make me talk like a sock puppet I will certainly have cross words for him (in a high squeaky voice).
  18. No no no it MUST be called THE COMPENDIUM.
  19. You think being buff will turn him on? How about just some lipstick and a tight skirt, no need to get all sweaty. Unless you think that adds to the appeal. If nothing else I guess maybe he'll appreciate the thoughtfulness.
  20. Well it's about damn time. How long has it been out now? Maybe you'll next think about buying a copy.
  21. To get you back into CMBN The guy who wrote September Hope has one out on the 1st ID on Omaha that is pretty darn good. Available on kindle. I wasn't sure if I wanted still another d-day book, but this one is worth it.
  22. My men lead from the front like they are supposed to you gamey bastiches. I even heard one of my commanders exclaim, "there are only two kinds of pixeltruppen in this game, those who are buddy aid fodder and those who are about to be buddy aid fodder".
  23. No he really did have baited breath. He's been hanging out at the sushi bar whilst waiting.
