  1. They figured it would be an appropriate title for the whiner threads that are inevitable.
  2. I figured you needed to maintain traction trodding over those sods like rolling around in their own excrement in the CessPool.
  3. No as of yet there are no deployable engineer bridges in CM. Generally it isn't considered to be something that would be accomplished in the timeframe of a typical CM battle.
  4. Heh. If that was the only news I'd say it is business as usual for Russia since Sept. The bigger concern is the Ruble is tottering at a near panic decline state. If it goes, all bets are off as to what Putin might do.
  5. Unfortunately none of those are likely to be a scenario BF would build a game around. Russia invading Hokkaido would be an utter disaster for Russia and China is incapable of a sustained operation overseas. On top of that it is highly unlikely BF is going to build a game around a special operations only scenario. There aren't too many pacific scenarios that have China in more than an air/naval conflict and the few land scenarios are simply too limited. A China/India or India/Pakistan conflict might be a viable high intensity conflict, but unlikely to generate the income. Honestly there aren't too many modern conflicts involving US forces that are going to be on a scale to warrant a BF title and BF only ventures into hypothetical conflicts that to them are real potential conflicts. At least so far... maybe after space lobsters of doom.
  6. China will just buy Russia. Japan vs china is not a tactical land combat situation. Taiwan would be a possible amphib assault and that would be it. I can not foresee the us in a land invasion of china without that there is no CM game.
  7. Yeah I loaded CM onto a secondary drive with plenty of room. I even have a third completely spare drive. I just wish MS didn't force the files to appear in the my documents folders. CMBN is so much easier to manage space for.
  8. I think this is about where a thank you is in order Thanks Phil!
  9. But a battlefront game which means German troops should be crossing the border a year or so after release date.
  10. It is the darn innernet thingy dangnabit!!! Kids tweeting and puttin things up on their wall whatever the hell that means.
  11. Are you kidding? They have seen enough to not only know what some of the response will be on the forum but also who will say what. Hell I think even I could have predicted most of the negative sentiments. Only thing BF is probably wondering is the actual sales - what does the community not on the forum want.
  12. I think there are some Marines here who would probably redefine for you what ship to shore means now. I would definitely not count them out as a force that could be deployed to upset the apple cart of Russian offensive plans.
  13. Poland is a NATO country. If it is invaded NATO is obligated to act. Ukraine was not. On the other hand if polish forces move to support Ukraine NATO is not obligated to act.
  14. Just an update as I am on the road and unable to mess with this for a bit. One issue I am running into with the mods is they fundamentally change the view of something while still maintaining their characteristics. Specifically the bridges. They appear to be metal structures with railings beneath and yet the pixeltruppen won't hop the railings. I absolutely love the mod, it is an incredible bit of work. Unfortunately it also shows the limit of a mod. I am still using portions of it and I think there is still room to use the rest as long as the map is designed in such a way to disguise the limitations. I'll be happy when CM starts including items to create the same terrain more naturally. Once I am back I'll get back to messing with my map and post some stuff for you Umlaut.
  15. And just so no one has a wrong impression, you certainly can get caught in a knife fight. It is just a lot more explosive.
  16. It says something that this thread has surpassed the Peng thread. Just don't know what it says.
  17. What Chris means to say is they are almost done selecting another victim for Bil. The first time he asked we all cleared the room before he could finish asking. Then he tried to trick us with a beer keg and door lock. Shortly I think we will find out who allowed the lure of beer to over rule their common sense.
  18. If you are asking for some kind of guarantee that there will never be a bug, then I unfortunately have to recommend you give up gaming. If you have any experience with board gaming you may be familiar with the errata sheets - yes even card board war games had "bugs". It is a fact of life of computers that there will be bugs and note it isn't necessarily the game. I amongst most others do not suffer from this particular bug. It has more to do with the combination of software and hardware you are using.
  19. If it is any consolation, you aren't. Despite the conspiracy theory that BF ignores this to instead produce product for sale, they are focused on it. That is pretty much all I can say but it is fact as opposed to disgruntled supposition.
  20. I think maybe about now folks should check the Black Sea forum. Amphibious vehicles Water is no longer an obstacle! Most Russian and Ukrainian vehicles are now capable of swimming across the surface of water obstacles, giving them enhanced tactical utility. Good show rocketman
  21. You mean the first second post.
