  4. I read that Microsoft will incorporate a "game mode" in Win 10 in the near future which will turn off as much as possible of the system and background apps to make the gaming experience better. As CM is a CPU heavy game maybe this mode will breathe new life into the engine without BFC having to do anything
  5. Is the new feature limited to FOs or do HQs get credits for off-board arty as well? How about CAS for FOs?

  9. After updating CMBS to the 4.0 engine I get the same stuttering graphics problem as in FB when the game is installed on a hybride drive's non-SSD partition.
  10. Not only a question for FB but all games covered by the 4.0 engine - were any bugs squashed in the process? Thanks BFC for getting this out for x-mas. "Tis a season to be jolly, fa la la la laa" and so on Now go crazy with the egg nog when all the licensing stuff is ironed out.
  11. My thinking as well. Consider the new feature of AI area fire. I suppose it takes a lot of testing so it works right and if not, it might break the game. The AI has to know when to area fire, on what spots, for what duration before switching to direct target, when to fire and risk giving their position away, not too much area fire to deplete ammo too much, area fire for different weapons/units and so on. On top of that I assume this differs a lot from WWII titles and modern. This alone seems like a lot of work. And then there is a ton of other stuff too. The only concern I have is that Chris has been awfully quiet, I can only recall a few posts since summer and he used to post frequently. And his Twitch broadcast got cancelled. I really hope he hasn't burned out or something.

For me the graphics range from "oh my god those shadows look awful I better turn them off" to "oh my god this overcast and hazy day with panthers moving down a rural road is just like the real thing". Can it look better all the time - yes. Is it good enough for this kind of game - for me yes. Does it ruin the gaming experience - never. Someone modded out the moire pattern of plowed fields for BN, maybe this can be done for FB as well.
  13. Is it the demo or the full game? I remember this from the demo and it had something to do with some unfinished art (IIRC). Maybe something slipped through to the full game. Send the save to someone else to test if they get the same thing.

  15. Wouldn't that either go right thru him or turn him into pink mist (and we don't want that animation). Forward momentum would make him fall in the direction he's running, a bullet doesn't have enough kinetic energy to knock him backwards. Don't trust what you see in movies
  16. Just fired up "Nulli Secundus" from the BN Battle Pack and get that white effect for haystack, shed and telephone pole flavor objects. Latest patch. Also: nice work gentlement, great effort

  18. Wow, this game series never stops surprising me with the stuff that goes on under the hood to make the simulation realistic. Tremendous stuff
  19. Maybe it is hard to quantify, but it would be nice with some info in the UI about the quality of tank optics. Let's say that 1.0 (or green) is state of the art of the period and 0.1 (or red) which is basically blind as a bat. Not exact science, but to give the player a general feel for how well the tank spots to the front. It would help to make decisions if risking to unbutton the TC and so on. Feasable to implement?
  20. One mod I found made the winter environment more convincing is Benpark's snowy trees. It works with the demo too.
  21. Regarding vulnerability of gunners I did some testing a while ago. Granted in FB, but it is the same engine so I think it is valid for BS as well. See full thread for details.
