  1. Welcome back man, good that you're still alive and kicking and in the CM-loop.
  2. Get your mods here (for all CM games): http://cmmodsiii.greenasjade.net/
  3. Maybe it is called "search" in English, I run on a Swedish PC.
  4. You have to click the button "add to" next to the current list of games. Then you can change settings. There are other settings for graphics cards that can improve performance and look, so search for threads in the forum on the subject.
  5. I understood your query, but answer in English. Make sure the graphics card is associated with the game if you have an internal one as well. If on Nvidia, go to control center, add the game and then there is a button for it. Or you can right click on the shortcut for launching the game and pick the graphics card there.
  6. There should be a download link in the confirmation email of your purchase. Try that.
  7. Can you post screenshot of an example? I saw a gap like that, but couldn't fire out through it or move through it on ground level. This was in the Alamo scenario.
  8. Had to do the same thing. Thanks for noticing this, I was getting frustrated. Preordered first day as well.
  9. The example I posted was just an illustration of the question I had, not how I do maps. I almost always use a topographical map and follow the outlines quite closely and then delete as I go on. What is hard to tell is how close the spacing between set elevations should/needs to be for a nice looking scenery and not too taxing on the system. @MarkEzra can you name a QB map from any game where there is large elevation changes, so I can study how close how you work with elevation?
  10. I can test for load times, but I don't care that much about load times. More important is how the map/scenario plays. I have suspected that elevation plays a part in how a scenario plays and will try to devise a test for actual gameplay. It is not always easy to create the map characterics with few elevation settings, but on the other hand too many of them close to each other has a tendency to create a "layered cake" effect.
  11. This is news to me. But to be completelys sure - would the formation on the left in the pic below (despite creating pretty much the same formation as the one on the right): Cause longer load times? Cause the game in 3d mode to use up more memory and result in poorer frame rate? Cause the game in 3d mode to stall more when panning the camera as the "denser" feature takes more memory to render? I enjoy making maps with steep elevation changes and am working on one now, so this is valuable information.
  12. I will send you a PM later on with more info and we can discuss outside of this thread. Don't worry about Dropbox, the link I will send is for downloads only.
  13. @quakerparrot67I found some more detailed maps. If you want them I can send it all via Dropbox-link.
  14. @quakerparrot67How about http://digitalarchive.mcmaster.ca/islandora/object/macrepo%3A31023 or http://digitalarchive.mcmaster.ca/islandora/object/macrepo%3A84871 Both can be downloaded in high res. Make sure to zoom in properly. I will also check a book I have that might have a map and I'll scan it for you.
  15. OK, can't remember how it works in BS. Is it the same?
  16. It might be supposed to be this way, but Bradleys use their main cannon when targeting light. I thought it would use the co-axial MG. A couple of "preserve" buildings got roughed up a bit too much
  17. And I want to control the camera, like "goddammit, zoom close to that assault over there, go back 10 sec and watch from the other side, then ..... arrrrrgh!" That's why I enjoy Josey Wales YT-vids so much, like watching a movie. I just lean back and enjoy.
  18. Yeah, that would fit the bill as well for sure. That monument is so impressive. Would like to see it IRL.
  19. I like @Hapless reaction to the mayhem, settling with "hmm, interesting..." Thank God I'm not a Youtuber, I would have screamed my head off with profanities. Will check out more of his stuff on YT though. Yes, the charm with CM, "live and learn", or "die and learn". "Fail again, fail better" is sort of a motto for me. Only way to improve your game, especially when taking on human oppos in scenarios never played before.
  20. I guess I based that on the WWII titles, so I'm wrong to assume that.
  21. OK, cool, I was thinking of doing something for the central panel, but maybe it is better off without. I'll tinker some and see what I come up with.
  22. Thanks, I'll probably do something with it in time. Looks really nice. If I make one I'll make sure to credit you. Is it an Aris tank mod?
  23. I had a similar idea a while back, but I would never been able to produce this level of quality results. Spectacular If you continue the whole photo will be colorized. What size is that first pic? Would make a sweed menu screen mod.
  24. Well, if we can't have tank riders in all titles, this is the next best thing for sure. Imagine the fun in snowy conditions! Weeeeeee......
  25. "I'd rather play a Stanley Kubrick game than a Ron Howard game." @Der Kommisar Best quote. Ever. (to paraphrase "Comic Book Guy")
