  1. I will host the documet until it is uploaded at TSD - it can be downloaded here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/n8weqdobt7pidc8/Coup d Etat Reference and Map Document.pdf?dl=0 Note that the document is best placed on a tablet as an aid while playing the scenario. The map can be zoomed in close. @MOS:96B2P can you add something to the text at TSD so that people know about this download option. Not sure that people not knowing about this scenario thread will look through it all. Maybe a release thread?
  2. I might be able to make the PDF file smaller without losing too much quality. What is the upper limit? Would be a pity if people started without it now that I made one.
  3. I look forward to that too. And a coming module for FB should probably include Canadians in Operation Veritable and Blockbuster. The Canadians deserve a lot of credit for the contribution in WWII. The country which had the highest percentage of their population involved in the war effort.
  4. In the first mission of the German campaign, I lost the commander of one platoon. In the followinig turn I combined that squad and about 10-15 sec into the action phase I could see command coming back to the platoon as command lines turned red again. No one in the HQ squad is an executive officer, 2IC or such, so I don't get why this happens. I have a save and the bug, if it is one, can be replicated.
  5. Wait, what?! There is magic in CM?!? That does it for me. I thought the game was all about realism. Now I have to go get a REAL game
  6. Probably those anchor babies that latch on to unsuspecting wargamers caught up in the fog of war. Sneaky bastards. Shows you the importance of proper recon.
  7. Has anyone else got email from "Battlefront.com Community" with the header "Your account has been locked for security reasons"? I haven't opened it and it looks like a scam sender. Just a heads up.
  8. I'm working on a scenario about the Juno landings at Courseulles-sur-Mer. It will have a historic version as well as a couple of "what-if" variants. Most of the map is done and units in place, but I've hit a couple of snags and has the project on hold until the patch is released.
  9. That thought crossed my mind as well, but more in the line of load times. But let’s hope for both.
  10. I tinkered a bit in the editor and was struck by how the elevation calculations now are done "on the fly" and pretty quickly too. Like when you drag a line of elevation points and you see the calculations while working. In the other games (not patched yet) you don't get any calculations until you release the mouse button and then it usually takes a few seconds to calculate. It is quite time consuming on large maps with lots of elevation changes. So if this makes it way into the other games I will be a happy man.
  11. IIRC Steve said it was motivated by actual tactical doctrine for the Italian Army and to reflect deficiencies in the leadership/HQ structure. But I'm happy to be proven wrong. They don't want to implement stuff that would be nice to have if it had no place in the real setting.
  12. I tried to replicate this phenomenon in the editor, both with ATGMs and RPGs and couldn't do it at first test. Would be strange if it is only applicable to certain formations. Might do more tests later on.
  13. This is the one: http://cmmodsiii.greenasjade.net/?cat=30
  14. Can't remember at the top of my head what it is called - it is recommended for this scenario (Daraya Tank Raid). I can look it up later.
  15. That sounds like a book right up my alley. What parts of the Pacific campaign does it cover? I even found a used copy in English in a Swedish online second hand bookstore - so I might give it a go.
  16. I know that units can share ammo with each other and that specialist teams can access mortar rounds from a nearby vehicle. But I didn't know that you could be on top of a building and still have access to that ammo. It is "beamed" up to the unit. I wonder if it even works when atop the highest possible buidling in the game?
  17. You get an upvote for the verb "frankensteined" - now part of my vocabulary
  18. Joe Sacco is fantastic. I have a book he made about Palestine/Isreal. Very thought provoking and superb illustrations. This one got my interest. Thanks for posting.
  19. Wow, really have to fly real low to make use of a Panzerfaust mounted on a wing. Surely can't be for real.
  20. Good thing then that my GEFORCE program, that usually reminds me of drivers, stopped working altogether a week ago, preventing me from updating to this crap driver. I'll stick with what I have from now on.
  21. DUKWs wouldn't be too far from serving as both landing crafts and assault "boats". We have amphibious vehicles in the modern titles so the tech is in place for it to be implemented in the WWII titles as well.
  22. LOL, that would necessitate transforming the general population from instant gratification, click-kicks, easy digestion of information to enjoying complexity and going in for a long haul investment of time and brain power to one thing. I would be pleasantly surprised if I see that in my life-time. And I'm only about half way done (I hope...).
