  1. The big mistake to make is to rush. You have to go very slow and steady. Everytime I get abit lax with my play, break concentration and try to speed things up it ends in disaster. Als give lots of recon by fire, suppress any possible ambush position with area fire.
  2. Thin Red Line is one of my favourites.
  3. End of Watch is a superb film by the director. Then again he did write U-571
  4. I hate real time games..but the size of the maps and pace is just right and is not a click fest. Plus good pause on options.
  5. Considering I had no interest in the kind of conflict it portrayed and have always preferred my WW2 esp eats front games I have to say Shock Force with it's modules is my favourite CMx2 game so far. The shear destructive power of some of the weapons and he amount of shiney toys is superb. So I really can't wait for the next modern game.
  6. Muis front looks like it's going to be amazing. I've been a fan of the series since the first game came out. By far the best realtime tactical wargame around. The reason CM takes my top spot is because of the WEGO mechanic and replays, if I was a realtime fan than Graviteam series would be top of my list. Plus it looks amazing. As for Close Combat, it will always have a space in my heart and I say CC2 was the best in the series. Since then inf have slowly become cannon fodder, I also much preferred the campaign system of CC2.
  7. Can anyone link me to a website that has an extensive collection of weapon\ vehicle sound files that are free to use? Thanks
  8. People want the Pacific but in practice I imagine the CMx2 engine struggling in it's present state. Esp Jungle warfare.
  9. True..we can be sad. Would have loved to have the Germans finished off.
  10. We can't complain really. The amount of work he has done for the games across the series is amazing. Love to see him do everything vehicle wise in all the games..but don't begrudge him stopping and enjoying something else. Thanks Aris for all your work. You have added so much to the games and we're all in your debt:)
  11. Always new scenarios and campaigns in the works by players..I haven't run out of battles to play in any of the CMx2 games\modules yet.
  12. Amazing..love it. This is what the East front for me is about (Track heads will disagree:)). If tagged properly will this set of mods be chosen for a specific scenario automatically without having to put and pull it from the Z folder each time you chose the scenario using it or not. Edit: Just read the posts rather than just look at them, my question is answered. Superb news. Love the new CMx3 features.
  13. I know he is heavily into Wings Over Flanders Field at the minute. Who can blame him.
  14. If it wasn't for CMx2 WEGO and replay mechanic then Graviteam would easy be my No1 go to tactical wargame.
  15. Welcome. If you enjoy realtime play then Graviteam Tactics is another great wargame. For me though CMx2 is my No1 due to WEGO mechanic and the replay:) Get yourself CMBN and the modules. I will also say the modern warfare game will be amazing aswell...with all it's shiney gadgets and weapons.
  16. Superb. CMx2 is so much the richer due to modders like Juju, Aris etc aswell amazing scenario designers.
  17. If you want to try a decent tactical wargame then Graviteam tactics is th only other choice really. I hate RTS games bu love this. Not a clickfest at all. Alot more grog like than anything else out there other than CM series.
  18. Thats the main reason I don't bother. Well I hate being tied to a game and will start to resent it as I like to play what i want for aslong as I want. Also after playing against a human playign against the AI will never feel the same again so in effect it will ruin a game for me. This happened to me with the Squad Battles series. I didn't like "having" to play it to get a turn off and never actually playing it long enough to get into it yet when I stopped PBEM I found it lacking against the AI which I never had had before hand. So in effect ruining the series for me:) So thats why I now stick to single play only unless it's an FPS like Red Orchestra.
  19. Oh right..so really it's pointless then as no one else will have the higher number barn. I though the game might have just chosen one at random. Thanks for the info mate.
  20. Single player for me also. The beauty of computer games for me when I was a kid (back in the early eighties) was the very fact I could play something I enjoyed without having to find someone who was also into they type of games I was into. I had a few board wargames and RPG's when I was a kid that never got played as I knew no one to play against. SO computer games where a god send. The only game I play multiplayer is Red Orchestra 1 and 2.
  21. I hope you and EZ can sort it out. Must admit someone once used something I'd modded and they got compliments for that very bit when they uploaded their mod. I really wouldn't mind if I'd been asked. So it can be very annoying. Still I think this was an honest oversight. Shake hands and make up:)
  22. If I renumber any that clash with Kiemes mods is that OK? Will they still get used?
