Kuderian got a reaction from Baneman in Balcony?
Balconies have excellent fields of fire. Ambush for thirty seconds then set a crawl and target arc opposite. Return fire is usually absorbed by the balcony and facing external wall while your troops hug the opposite wall. Then sneak back and repeat...

Thanks Bil for doing this AAR - always a pleasure for us armchair generals.
I love the 'Movie' mode shots by the way.  So much nicer on the eyes esp. in 'The Green Hell'!

I think your perception of the 'defect' is different from most of of us players. I have been playing v4.0 since day 1. , every fffing day and my experience is that the AI High Explosive awareness has often saved my troops bacon (despite sometimes my best efforts to thwart them) which more than compensates imho for the odd 'running-away-too-quickly' behaviour. So please tone down the hyperbole( and vitriol) and try and understand  that your opinion of 'defect' is by no means a deal breaker for most of us ( and BF are not sitting on their fat asses' smokin' cigars -  Read Steve's candid post's on BFC's year of 2017).

Kuderian got a reaction from A Canadian Cat in Soft launch... CMBS Battle Pack 1
I have nearly finished 'Honor' and have just started 'Fort Apache' both playing h2h Pbem against @IanL.
There is 30 minutes on the clock left in 'Honor' and playing as the Americans I have yet to get across the river. My opponent has cunningly destroyed 2 out of the 3 centre bridges with substained artillery barrages'. I feel both sides have a good chance, the Americans with their Javelins and the Russians with their T-90's.
Enjoying all of the BP so far. Many Thanks @Imperial Grunt!
And Happy Julian New Year and Happy Orthodox New Year everyone!

The Mighty Grille let's loose! Dust envelopes the crew.

A PzIV and StuG III race up the slopes spitting fire!

With covering smoke billowing behind the PzGrenadiers assault the Canadian trench, range less than 15m.

A grenade explodes between the brave Canadians!

A Canadian armoured car lays down suppressive fire.

    Good analysis MOS!

And your game must be on Iron setting if your having to spot friendlies as well.

I use this technique esp. for the British who tend to have their amour in separate parent formations.

An example from my recent battle ; I had a Coy of Panzer Grenadiers with a battery of on map Grilles  both with separate off map higher HQ's. I put both their respective HQ's into Kubelwagons and kept them within visual contact of each other. Then when some of my infantry spotted an enemy the spotting location was passed after some minutes to the Grilles(vertically up to their HQ then horizontally to Grille's HQ then vertically down to battery HQ).

Another thing I found was that infantry HQ's could remain in C2 even when moving in a vehicle but not on foot.

I have just started playing 'Dawn Patrol' as the Soviets and I notice all the trench systems are displayed at higher elevation without spotting them.

    Big FoW giveaway, methinks.

Kuderian got a reaction from Pelican Pal in Axis AAR: A Route to Ribera or "A Bridge Too Far" (CMPzC)
There are some photogenic battles in this round 10, I think. So I am going to try and get this thread going again!

Here is the current strategic situation with the three Allied assaults this round marked.

The assault at Hex 14,6 for 200 Victory points is on hold until the adjacent assault at Hex 15,6 (Poesel71 vs Kohlenklau) is finished. This is determine which Axis forces can arrive as reinforcements in hex 14,6.

I am up against Fizou my opposite number in Hex 10,8 for 300 Victory points.

We are between 15-30 minutes into our respective battles.

Some quick snap shots to get the overall picture then I will add more detail later!

Hex 10,8 300 Point Victory Location Allied perspective

Hex 10,8 300 Point Victory Location Axis perspective

    Hex 15,6 Allied perspective

    Hex 15,6 Axis perspective

    More coming soon....

Kuderian got a reaction from DMS in CM Black Sea – BETA Battle Report - Russian Side
Continuing the T-90 vs. M1 debate, CM Black Sea is the first CM title to allow aphibious vehicle river crossing, a significant tactical advantage for the Russians imho.

Regarding the huge weight difference between the tanks, are there bridges in Ukraine that could carry a T-90 weight but not a M1's? If this was the case, it would be another tactical advantage.

One thing that is not modelled at this level is the fuel consumption and maintenance overheads for each tank which I imagine would give the T-90 an advantage in logistical supplies needed.
